How do you like your superheroes? I'm reminded of that song - I need a hero!
How do you like your superhero movie? I'm reminded of the original Superman
with Christopher Reeves. The image of him flying through the air in his blue tights, red cape...fighting for truth, justice and the American way.

And it all starts with the origin of how they got started. Sometimes predictable, but wholesome. Some may be bored with a superhero movie being predictable, and normally I would agree with that thought. But in this case,
Aquaman gives predictable a fresh coat of paint, a kick in the pants, they
turbocharge it (much like Spiderman: Into the Verse).

Take a charming actor, Jason Mamoa, some gorgeous females, Amber Heard (for one), thrilling action and world-building of epic proportions - mix them up -
throw in a solid script and you got the makings of a blockbuster hit no one
saw coming. The DCEU hit it out of the park on this one. And it all began with the story. Like I said predictable, but told in such a way that it had the audience from the word "Go." It was right up there with the Wonder Woman
story. And the world building of the undersea world - awesome and larger than life. James Wan, the director, did an excellent job of creating, as though brand new, a world that even the future king of the seven seas didn't know
(spoilers).

Hell, it doesn't matter that I told you that, because it's the story. Man meets woman from another world (in this case, Atlantis), they fall in love,
have a baby, she is forced to make a choice, the boy is orphaned, he grows to manhood and discovers he's a king...but without love, what does it all mean.
Okay, there's lots more than that and Wan delivers a punch with the script, and the seven seas - Wow! Yeah, some was over the top, but you can't have a
movie about a king without some explosions, a race against time and armies.
Like I said predictable, but...well, go see it. It's worth every penny.

I give it 4.5 Stars (out of 5 Stars).

America loves a winner!

I thought it a fun movie and worth my time.

Some of the writing was a bit lacking, but I think they did enough w/ the CGI and rest of the movie to get a sequel out of it. Maybe not have to worry so much about showcasing EVERYTHING under the waves, Avatar like, in the next movie.
