Quote:Originally posted by DREAMTROVE: I just watched Maggie, and it's not the movie that I saw the last half of with Arielle some years back. In this movie there are many similar elements. A father with a daughter who has been infected with a zombie plague attempts to keep her alive as she degenerates. In the movie I'm looking for he drives off with her to attempt to find a cure, and there's a memorable scene of a fake cure doctor who is actually just euthanizing his patients in a tent. I might have some of the details wrong, it could be that parts of this movie or some other got crossed in my mind, but I remember this tent scene quite clearly. The doctor is lying to everyone, he has maybe a dozen children and I'm even sure all of them are sick, he's in a tent somewhere, and his cure is a lethal injection. I don't know how much of a plot hinge point it is, I think it's just a mislead. Anyway, does anyone remember this film?

I'm afraid I don't recall which film that was. Not the actors, or director, etc. At this point, the only figment that floats to me is that Michael Shannon film about the boy, like Intensity or similar, Brightness? But I really don't think that is what you had in mind. edit: it was probably Midnight Special. Maggie has Abigail Breslin, which is a bigger pull than the other film, IIRC. Sorry I can't help more at this point, I'll try to recall better. Was the kid boy or girl?

My baseline reference for real life child illness is Lorenzo's Oil - which Libtards hated. I feel like the filem I was trying to recall, the protagonists were trying to protect the child, shield them from authorities or general populace. That was what made me think of Midnight Special, plus he was degenerating with each passing day. Was time travel involved? Did the4y go to another time for a solution?

Quote:A highly infectious virus has spread worldwide, killing most of the population. Brothers Brian and Danny, along with Brian's girlfriend Bobby and Danny's friend Kate, plot a trip to take shelter at Turtle Beach, the brothers' childhood vacation home. To help them survive, they follow a set of rules created by Brian. On their way to the beach, the group encounter a survivor named Frank and his infected daughter Jodie, whose vehicle has run out of fuel. The four escape from Frank when he attacks them, but after their car breaks down, they are forced to help Frank and Jodie to use his vehicle. At Frank's insistence, they travel to a nearby high school where a serum for the pandemic is rumored to have been developed. Upon arriving, Frank, Brian, Danny, and Kate discover that the serum does not work and the last remaining doctor is preparing to euthanize a group of infected children and himself. Meanwhile, Bobby catches the virus from Jodie, which she hides from the others. Frank is later forced to bring Jodie to a portable toilet, giving Brian the opportunity to leave them behind and take their vehicle.

Speaking of Delta, if I were the airline right now I'd be pretty pissed. Do you think that whoever was naming these viruses had a hardon for Delta Airlines and the makers of Corona beer? Because fuck me, I bet they wish they picked different names right now.
