Yep! It's not as stupid as the White Helmet mannequin challenge, which shows them "rescuing" an "injured" young man who is covered with "dust" (flour) and "trapped in" (lightly sprinkled with) rubble.

The White Helmets actually had to apologize for that one!

Only in Siggy-land is a misjudged publicity stunt to call attention to a humanitarian crisis worse than out and out fabrications by state-owned media.

Syria's White Helmets apologize for Mannequin Challenge video

London (CNN)It's a familiar scene: Syria Civil Defence, also known as the "White Helmets," rushing to rescue a man covered in rubble, but unlike thousands of other videos from Aleppo, this one is staged.
The short video -- a take on the Mannequin Challenge -- was created by the Revolutionary Forces of Syria (RFS), an opposition media group ...

I invite everyone to watch the video, all the way to the end.

It starts like any mannequin challenge. And then, at 25 seconds, you realize that it transitions into staged events. The makeup is on. The special effects are in place. At 25 seconds the acting starts. And a sound track is faded-in and superimposed over the actors.

If you didn't see the first 25 seconds, how would you know that this wasn't real? How could you distinguish this fake video from any others claiming to be the real thing?

It invites the question - if these events could be staged, what about others? It puts ALL OTHER VIDEOS claiming to be genuine into question.

Obviously that's incorrect. They felt a responsibility to do so but they didn't have to. I don't expect someone who has as low a sense of personal integrity - especially about the Truth - to understand that though.

Probably 95% of the media outlets got that one wrong big time, and of course many will not own up to that - so especially in context, it was totally unnecessary on their part. Hell, even Kiki got it wrong.

Sorry, Trump propaganda outlets saying he would win just don't count.

SIG and 1kiki post what they claim to be facts from unreliable sources in these threads. They think that others here get their news, ( information ) from them. All their posts actually do is provide a record of their trolling. Nothing more...Our posting responses to their type of trolling is what the wider internet is now realizing and responding to, fake news. It is a blight on society and has weaved itself into the fabric of the internet. It's about getting clicks, not disseminating facts for discussion. SIG and 1kiki are all about fake news and getting clicks ( attention ).

Here we go, you can't point out that any of the videos are fake so it's back to labelling everyone "terrorists".

It's a highly religious society. They pull a child out of the rubble of their own homes and cry "God is great" because the child is still alive. And you want to use that to smear them as terrorists? Why? Because it serves your worldview. Your precious worldview.

No one in their right mind would watch those videos and see swarms of terrorists. Those people are not terrorists, they're PEOPLE.

As a former EMT - I see a lot of cosmetic injuries in your videos, with everyone amazingly healthy and intact. The 'victims' look a lot like the volunteer 'victims' we were trained on, which were healthy people with fake blood, dirt, debris etc painted on. I'm not saying these ARE fake, but it would be extremely easy to fake them. It would be far harder to fake a traumatic amputation, compound fracture, blown-apart skull, evisceration, chunks of flesh ripped open and hanging down as from a large avulsion, or other genuine and devastating injury. And those are all amazingly absent in every single 'victim' shown. I also didn't see any hard-to-fake medical treatments, like the insertion of an airway. (Also, as a professional comment, I saw a lot of very bad care being 'given', much of it would have been lethal to anyone with a serious injury, and which wouldn't even have met standards from 40 years ago.)

Awww.... "terrorists are people too" What a cute meme.

What KIKI said: I was struck by the fact that they were dragging and hand-carrying "victims" out of the rubble to .... wherever. But anybody with a modicum of training knows that you should put victims on a backboard. Anything will do- a door, a plank of wood. There was no care for possible spinal injuries.

Also I was looking at the children specifically and wondering... what was the source of their injury? It was really hard to tell - they looked basically uninjured, except that they were limp. So another thing that crossed my mind was: How do you get children to be so limp? Sedate them, like they did in the pictures of the "victims" of the chemical attack on Ghouta? Would someone go that far to stage a rescue? Women were mostly (suspiciously) absent. I can't say that they're fake, but they didn't all look real either.

AFA the flurry of "Akkahu Akbar" greeting every "rescue" ... pro-government fighters seem to have their own victories without a flurry of accompanying Takbirs. I went online to see if I could find videos of the SAA or Liwa al Quds or Tiger Forces or any government -friendly fighters with equivalent Allahu Akbars, and I couldn't. For example, here is a 9-minute video of intense fighting and even a rescue, and not a single "Allahu Akbar" can be heard. A lot of battlefield discussion, but no Allahu Akbar!

An 8-minute video of Tiger Forces.... same thing!

So it's not fair to say that it's a "religious society" ... only PARTS of it are religious. Maybe even "extremely" so.

I recall reading a story about life in Raqqa... how the population, which was Sunni to begin with .... was gradually turned towards Wahhabism by foreign forces, like Nazi-occupied Europe. The people tried to live their lives as much as possible, there was more or less accommodation towards occupying troops and ideology. The (few) civilians still living in east Aleppo are for sure on a spectrum of religious fervor. Some are just keeping their heads down, but some of them are fully on-board with Wahhabist theology.

In the meantime, the "rebel" defense in Aleppo has collapsed, and most of the remaining pocket has disappeared.

I've been keeping track of the number of civilians evacuating east Aleppo, and it's nowhere near 250,000. It totals no more than about 30,000 so far, with just a few neighborhoods remaining. All of that yammer about "250,000" civilians was what I thought: sheer (UN-backed) bullshit.

The UN had suggested yet another "cease fire" several days ago, which the "rebels" would have used to regroup and re-arm (as they have in the past). The UN has never backed the Syrian plan of evacuating active "rebels" from Aleppo- I guess the USA-backed portions of the UN were still hoping to protect their precious "rebel"-held pocket in Aleppo. Now that the pocket is essentially taken, let's see if the UN steps and even-handedly offers aid to newly government-controlled areas of Aleppo. I doubt it.

Acknowledging that Aleppo is essentially lost, ISIL has re-opened a front near Palmyra, probably to distract pro-government fighters from turning their attention to Idlib. So there seems to be some overall coordination between ISIL and the so-called "rebels".

By reading reports in various sources of how many people have left or been evacuated from various neighborhoods, including western sources, who have no interest in under-reporting the number of displaced people. Well, since you put it THAT way ... Does the UN support the current government in Syria? IF NOT, then they are supporting the alternative: Jihadism.

Yanno, it's not like this hasn't happened three times already: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya. The sides are clear, and it's clear who side the jihadists are on, and so the consequences of those choices are clear.

WHO posted the videos as proof, again?

You mean you didn't watch the 'dead' guy in the back of the suv after his pants were removed, being 'given' 'cpr'? The guy with not a single bruise, with no airway inserted, and phony cpr? Because everything in that one sure looked suspicious to me.

But in fact, you don't need to remove clothes to see displaced fractures, or amputations, or deforming head injuries, or bruises, avulsions, lacerations or other injuries in exposed skin. What's suspicious is that there were NONE visible. On any so-called 'victims'.

So, those terrible, horrible, mean Russians and Syrians have called a unilateral halt of operations in Aleppo to allow civilians to escape. Since evacuations have been successful many times in the past ...

... among others ... there is no reason to believe that this evacuation couldn't be successful either, if the terrorists allow it to be so.

Quote:

The Syrian army has stopped “active military activities” against militants in the city of Aleppo, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced Thursday refering to the fact that this is needed to allow civilians to withdraw from the battleground. The statement was made on the sidelines of a meeting of ministers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Lavrov made the announcement following the meeting with US State Department Secretary, John Kerry on the Syrian issue.

Another unilateral ceasefire by Syrian government forces in Aleppo has already caused a sceptical reaction among the expert community interested in the Syrian conflict. Many believe that Aleppo militants will sabotage again the withdrawal of civilians from the city because militants need the local population as a human shield against government forces and as a reason of constant diplomatic and media pressure on Syria and Russia.

Another important question raised by Syrian experts is: Was the Russian decision to push the unilateral ceasefire related to Washinton’s alleged attempts to save US intelligence and special service members from the Aleppo pocket? On Tuesday Al-Hadas news agency reported, citing own source, that the negotiations were aimed to assist US spies, including an intelligence officer embedded with militants and an informant named Balal Abdel Karim to leave Aleppo.

While SyriaDirect is always a day or two late (only now are they posting about the "rebel" losses in Aleppo; I guess they have to check in with the State Department before posting anything!) liveuamap doesn't show any new airstrikes in the past roughly 24 hours.

Let me point out that the report of casualties comes from the SOHR, which you have trashed repeatedly and at length and called unreliable. SAYS WHO? Vested anti-Assad "activists"? Terrorists who don't mind posting (apparently) fake rescue videos or killing people in a false-flag Sarin attack, just to precipitate US bombing in Syria? (And then posting staged pictures for the USA-press to eat up?)

Now, here is something to chew on: Russian MOD just yesterday said that they have had NO ... let me repeat NO ... air operations over Aleppo since October. I wish I could find that statement again, it is very intriguing. Now either activists on the ground have been deliberately misreporting what's going on in east Aleppo, or the Russian MOD has unimaginably large brass balls, or people on the ground are confusing artillery strikes with air strikes, or Syrian airstrikes with Russian ones, but there was definitely something hinky going on with the reportage from (what used to be) the terrorist enclave.

Meanwhile, I would imagine that the western press would be all over those internally-displaced persons from east Aleppo ... Yanno, they have been crying over those trapped* civilians for months

you would THINK that their dear readers would want a follow-up as to what happened to them! How many are there? (This would be not only a useful cross-check on previous reported estimates but also necessary for aid planning) Where are they going? How are they being settled? Who is providing aid?

But western readers are curiously uncurious and western press focuses on a few people here and there, but no "big picture" reporting. The only overall reporting that I can find is Russian press, which says that 50,000 people left east Aleppo in the past 48 hours. https://southfront.org/since-today-morning-1217-militants-surrendered-

I suppose that once our government - or the UN- acknowledges these IDPs, then they might be morally - or optically - obligated to provide aid.

Nope. You're either lying, or just being dumb. 2 ways that you could've checked what you just said and realised that it is obviously wrong:

1. There's no mention in the WaPo article about the specific airstrike cited by the SOHR (the village was named as Al-Heisha)
2. The 54 US military 'vetted' deaths are over a 6 month period from March 31st - October 22nd. The dates of the airstrike that the SOHR claim killed 20 was November 9th - outside the period that the US military were even looking at.

US Military Admits: We Deliberately Bombed a Hospital in Iraq

Military spokesperson says "it's very difficult to ascertain with full and total fidelity" that no civilians were killed

The U.S. military said Thursday that it intentionally bombed a hospital in Mosul, Iraq as part of its efforts to "eradicate" Islamic State (ISIS) fighters.

The attack on the Al Salam hospital complex took place Wednesday at the request of Iraqi forces, with coalition aircraft using "precision-guided munitions," Air Force Col. John Dorrian, spokesperson for the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS, told reporters.

He said "it's very difficult to ascertain with full and total fidelity" that there were no civilian casualties, whether in the building targeted or elsewhere within the hospital complex.

ISIS fighters, Dorrian said, "were using the facility to fire heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades at the Iraqi security forces in the area." The strike on the "normally protected facility" allowed the Iraqi forces "to fall back to a more defensible position," he said.

The "protection of civilians," he said later in the press conference, "has been a centerpiece, a foundational element of the campaign to liberate Mosul."

The military is not carrying out an investigation but rather an "assessment" of the strike, the spokesperson added.

The battle to reclaim Mosul from ISIS fighters, which began in October, has left civilians, including roughly 600,000 children, trapped and facing a worsening humanitarian situation.

Of course I do. that's why I said ... wait for it ... that sites like pro-Russian Southfront have a tendency to only report happy news, and sites like Syria Direct always try to portray the (almost nonexistent) moderate rebels in the best light possible. (But even they fuck up, which is where I find the most damning admissions).

You blokes, however, NEVER admit that your so-called "reliable" sources and your precious "moderate rebels" would ever purvey totally fake news, even though they do quite often, and you have had plenty of examples of it. Some examples of which were posted (above), and I can't help but note that you failed to even acknowledge them. As usual, pretending they don't exist is your go-to response.

In the meantime, ISIL has re-taken Palmyra ... and I'm sure that KRAPO and GSTRING and THUGR got a little frisson of joy, because overall they would rather back terrorists than see Russia and Assad successful. But they smooth over that cognitive dissonance by deluding themselves that there really is some sort of "moderate rebel group" still active in Syria. In any case ...

... there was unusual scathing criticism of the Syrian Army which was left defending Palmyra posted on SouthFront:

Quote:

ISIS terrorists seized the ancient city of Palmyra from Syrian government forces. The terrorist group also took control of Biyarat, Dawah and Hayyan oil facility west of Palmyra after a series of clashes with the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF). Terrorists also attacked the Qadri farms and shelled government forces in the outskirts of the Tayfor Airbase. Heavy clashes were also at the Tiyas village near the Tayfor Airbase, but the Syrian army repelled ISIS attacks there.

ISIS was able to achieve all these gains despite massive airstrikes by the Syrian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces. Only Russian warplanes and helicopters have delivered over 150 airstrikes on ISIS terrorists near Palmyra since Saturday. On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that eleven battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, 31 cars with heavy machineguns, and over 300 militants were destroyed.

This was a major military effort by ISIL, not just a group of merrie men with AK-47s. I wonder, given the equipment that was captured by ISIL what the net net is. Also, now the SAA and RAF will have to bomb their own equipment in order to retake Palmyra.

Quote:

Government forces are now regrouping and deploying reinforcements in the area west of Palmyra and conducting a pre-emptive shelling of ISIS units before the counter-attack.

ISIS has a 4,000-strong attack force in the area and is readying to continue the advance. In Palmyra it has seized a high number of military equipment from government forces and Russian military advisers.

The breakthrough and rapid advancement of the ISIS took place due to fundamental mistakes of commanders of units of the Syrian Army and the NDF

And their Russian advisors

Quote:

, deployed in the Palmyra area, who just let their guard down. They did not pay due attention to fortification activities, processes of equipping positions with engineering and combat hardware, as well as were carelessness during tactical reconnaissance and assessment of the forces and means of attackers.
In other words, they didn't see this major assault coming, and they didn't have tank traps, outposts, and other fortification necessary, and they sure as hell didn't let Damascus know what was going on. "All clear on the eastern front!" was prolly the message going back to HQ.

Quote:

As a result, commanders did not report the all necessary information to the higher command in Damascus on time, thereby, deluding it. However, this fact does not remove the responsibility from the central command and the Russian assist and advise mission.

There are several reasons, which explain the emergence of so many mistakes at one and the same time:

Wrong informing from outlying areas;
Negligence in reconnaissance;
Focusing of the attention on the military operation in the city of Aleppo;
Unexpected redeployment of new ISIS units from Iraq to Syria, as well as involvement of the most experienced ISIS commanders of the senior and middle levels in the offensive;
Unexpected large number of suicide bombers, involved in the operation.

Meanwhile, clashes continued in the city of Aleppo where government forces renewed the military operation amid the collapsing ceasefire efforts by Russia. The army its allies liberated Al-Asilah, Ma`adi and Bab al Maqam. Heavy clashes also took place in Sheikh Saeed. However, December 12 morning, government forces were in the control of the area.

Answers the question of why tens of thousands of civilians stayed in the city, afraid to leave, throughout the fighting.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Yes, from your link I can see the row of bodies right here ...

"Yesterday evening, we received further deeply disturbing reports [From whom?] that numerous bodies were lying on the streets," Mr Colville added, while admitting it was hard to verify the reports.

The only desperation that I sense here is a desperate need to bullshit.

After constantly slagging Russia about the liberation of Aleppo, even NPR (globalist-Democratic source that it is) had to admit that the liberated civilians were housed and fed, and being treated well, and that there was no massacres or arrests or forced conscriptions as the so-called "rebels" claimed.

BTW- military operations have ceased in Aleppo. The city is fully liberated. Your hearts can stop bleeding for those poor "moderate rebels" and their civilian hostages now, and you can start cheerleading for al Qaeda in Idlib and ISIL in Palmyra.

Hillary knew all about the Electoral College when she ran for office. All of this after-the-fact bitching is still just an attempt to rewrite history. I guess you're all still in various stages of grief, including anger, denial, and bargaining, all rolled into one

Again, you're saying that the UN, international aid organisations and human rights organisations with people on the ground in Syria are no more reliable than your Russian-propaganda-parroting, 9/11-truther-spewing blogs? Typical.

In the meantime, ISIL has re-taken Palmyra ...

Yes they have, the one ISIS-held town of note that the Syrian regime has captured since the Russian intervention... they've now lost back to ISIS. It shows you how committed Putin and Assad are to the anti-ISIS fight.
