I wouldn't say worst President "ever" since I've only experienced 9
10 (I barely remember Kennedy). They all had their good points and bad points.

Johnson was pretty bad. He sent a lot of young men to death in a pointless war, then blew the budget on his Great Society and caused a huge inflation problem for Nixon to solve. OTOH he did desegregate the south. On balance, he sucked.

Nixon was personally paranoid and weasely, but he ended the great bleeding wound that was Vietnam, and tackled Johnson's stagflation problem with wage-price controls and taking the dollar off the gold standard, substituting the petrodollar instead. Started the EPA. OTOH Kissinger was his foreign policy advisor, a war criminal, and supported tyrants like Pinochet and Suharto with massive loss of life and freedom around the world. So, on balance, HE sucked!

Ford wasn't in office very long, I recall "couldn't walk and chew gum".

Carter was a sincere person and intelligent, introduced the notion of "human rights". OTOH he had the "brilliant" idea of arming and funding Islamic radicals in Afghanistan to drive out the Soviets, not realizing what a force for evil they would become. On balance, prolly not terrible, but naive.

Reagan. Oh, my! "Star Wars" defense system (lots of $$$ to the MIC!), Iran- Contra, tac cuts for the rich. But he did sign a nuclear disarmament treaty with the Soviets which reduced stockpiles of warheads in both nations. Some very good actions, some terrible.

Clinton. Wholly owned by the banks and transnationals. Actually reduced the deficit, taking advantage of the "peace dividend" but ... free trade, commodities speculation, cozied up to China, killed Glass Steagall, and in general set the stage for the USA becoming a financialist nation, and for the pickled we're in today. On balance, terrible.

GWB continues in the same tradition as Clinton but adds a couple of wars in the Mideast. Adds Rx to Medicare but forbids Medicare from negotiating for best prices, tax cuts for the rich, blows up the USA deficit, adding fuel to the 2008 fire-to-be.

Obama. Continues " interventionist" foreign policy by destroying Libya, attempting to destroy Syria, conducting a coup in Ukraine, and bailing out the banks to the tune of $17 trillion. Promotes identity politics. Can't think of a single good thing. About on par with GWB. Terrible.

Trump- lofty goals. Took us out of free.trade deals (good) and attempted to secure the border, but couldn't wrest control of the admin from closet neocons and rabid partisans in State Dept, CUA, and FBI. Will be remembered more for what he failed to accomplish.

Biden* - a sock puppet. Administration factions fighting each other. Imposed illegal medical mandates, smeared half of the USA electorate as "white supremacist terrorists", blew up the budget causing inflation ... the final word has not been written. Maybe some faction will pull his administration out of a nosedive.

I think it's kind of a tie so far between Johnson, GWB, Clinton and Obama in terms of not representing America's interests.

Are you giving a pass to Biden* then simply because he's a sockpuppet?

A lack of ill intentions simply because his dementia has advanced so far that he has the innocence of a 2 year old shouldn't preclude him from the worst ever list, IMO.

Nah. I can't think of a single thing that he* hasn't fucked up, no "good" things on his ledger. But he might retrieve his Presidency with some stunning action or policy that's good for America (not big pharma, financiers, and transantional buddies and fellow grifters). Record not complete yet. So far, not good.

Dismal Russian record in occupied eastern Ukraine serves as warning

The Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine’s Luhansk and Donetsk regions were once the engines of the country’s economy and dominated its politics.

They produced its richest man, billionaire industrialist Rinat Akhmetov, as well as former President Viktor Yanukovych, ousted by the street protests that triggered the Russian invasion in 2014.

Since then, however, the two areas—now nominally independent “people’s republics” inside the larger regions of Luhansk and Donetsk—have turned into impoverished, depopulated enclaves that increasingly rely on Russian subsidies to survive. As much as half the prewar population of 3.8 million has left, for the rest of Ukraine, more prosperous Russia or Europe. Those who remain are disproportionately retirees, members of the security services and people simply too poor to move. Current economic output has shrunk to roughly 30% of the level before the Russian invasion, economists estimate.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin is massing more than 100,000 troops for a possible broader invasion of Ukraine, the developments in Donetsk and Luhansk show what many fear could happen to the rest of the country if he were to carry that out. The dismal record of Russian rule is one reason so many Ukrainian citizens, including Russian-speakers, are ready to take up arms so that their hometowns won’t meet the same fate.

“The nightmare that started in 2014 in Donetsk has transformed the popular attitudes in mostly Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine,” said Oleksiy Goncharenko, a lawmaker from Odessa, one of the cities in southern and eastern Ukraine rocked by large-scale pro-Russian protests at the time.

“Back in 2014, the majority here were undecided—their main priority was to keep living normally, working in their businesses, sending their kids to school,” Mr. Goncharenko said. “Since then, they’ve seen very clearly that life is quiet only in the areas where the Ukrainian flag remains. They said: We don’t want to live in such a zombie zone, in some kind of Somalia.”

Borys Korolyov, a native of Luhansk city, is now studying at a university in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, some 220 miles away. On a recent day, he lingered for a few minutes while his cellphone still worked in Stanytsia Luhanska, a crossing point from Ukrainian-controlled to Russian-held areas. Then he picked up his suitcase and headed across a bridge into Luhansk, to visit his parents.

“In Kharkiv, there are new, unexpected things, opportunities at every corner,” said Mr. Korolyov. “In Luhansk, there is nothing to do except stay at home. Boring. No prospects for the future.”

. . . One of the hundreds of prisoners there was Ukrainian novelist and journalist Stanislav Aseev, who was detained in 2017 after local security officials discovered he was contributing under a pen name to Ukrainian news outlets. Mr. Aseev, who says he was repeatedly tortured with electric shock, was freed in December 2019 as part of a prisoner exchange and now lives near Kyiv.

“They’ve managed to rebuild a Soviet system in the occupied territories—and not the Soviet system of the 1960s and 1970s, but a Soviet system of the 1930s and 1940s, with dungeons, with torture chambers, a system where lives are ruined if you dare to write or say something negative about these republics and their authorities,” Mr. Aseev said.

Russia still doesn’t formally recognize the self-proclaimed independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics, something it has already granted to Abkhazia and South Ossetia. A bill to do so is making its way through the Russian parliament. Meanwhile, Russia has increasingly absorbed the two enclaves into its own economy.

The breakaway areas have switched from the Ukrainian currency to the Russian ruble; their citizens have been issued Russian passports; their students receive Russian diplomas; and the leaders of both republics last year publicly joined Mr. Putin’s political party, United Russia. Mr. Putin recently ordered the extension of Russia’s welfare benefits to the residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics.

. . . Ukraine recognizes the residents of the occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk as its own citizens, and allows them to enter to renew their documents, obtain medical, mail and banking services unavailable in the breakaway republics—or resettle permanently if they so choose. Even residents who opt for Russian citizenship usually keep their Ukrainian passports, which allow visa-free entry to the European Union.

. . . Unlike in the wars of the former Yugoslavia, where religion and ethnicity created a permanent identity marker, here whether to consider oneself Ukrainian or Russian is a matter of choice and ideology rather than blood.

“There are so many families here that have broken up because one part supported Ukraine and another backed the Russian aggression,” said Maryna Oliynyk, head of the culture department at the Slovyansk civil-military administration. She no longer speaks to her uncle and cousin, who live in a nearby Ukrainian-controlled town, binge on Russian TV and adore Mr. Putin. “I am a patriot,” she said.

At the Slovyansk local museum, a room is dedicated to the 84 days when the town remained under the control of Russian militias in 2014. Exhibits include rocket-propelled grenades, artillery fragments and ballots of the referendum on independence from Ukraine that pro-Russian forces carried out at the time. Some 100 local residents died in Slovyansk, and more than 2,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged in the fighting. A suburb along the main highway still stands in ruins.

“It’s a big stress. Everyone is afraid, God forbid, that it will happen again,” said one of the museum’s curators, Oleksandr Gayevoy, who lived through the fighting in 2014. “People now prefer not to talk too much, because who knows who will come here next.”

Mr. Gayevoy added that one of his brothers, who remained in the Russian-controlled town of Yenakiyevo, former President Yanukovych’s hometown, was an ardent supporter of the Russian-installed regime there but has since changed his views.

“There used to be a lot of enthusiasm for the Donetsk people’s republic in the beginning, everyone chanted DPR, DPR, DPR! Now, there’s just a lot of disappointment,” said Mr. Gayevoy, who last visited the Russian-held areas in 2019. “My brother now tells me that they are ruled by cretins. The economy there has crumbled, the jobs are gone. There’s nothing good over there.”

Who the hell is Mr Aseev, and why should we believe his allegations?

I mean,if you want to talk to talk about human rights violations, how about the 3000+ civilians in eastern Ukraine killed by Kiev?

And if you want to talk about collapsed economy and depopulation, why not discuss western Ukraine?

Unlike you, Signym, Stanislav Aseyev is real, was tortured, and he is not pulling your usual whataboutism or your tired old stunt of insinuating facts are "fake news". https://www.google.com/search?q=Stanislav+Aseyev

Stanislav Aseyev, journalist and former prisoner of terrorists, posted on his Facebook page that Russian citizens Yuri Krivonos, Vladimir Butenko and Ruslan Yeremichev are involved in brutal torture, beatings and violation of human dignity.

“Now, having the data of their Russian passports, claims over violation of laws and customs of war can be lodged officially against the Russian Federation. I hope that the Trilateral Contact Group and our Ministry of Foreign Affairs will do this in the near future,” Aseyev noted. (Monday, 07 February 2022, 01:29)

Maybe the Russians are doing what the Pentagon and State Department say they are doing. But our mantra should be “Don’t trust unless you can verify.” And this is a good place to suggest that you keep your eyes peeled for false-flag propaganda emanating from the United States. Given the deep state’s fondness for doing exactly what they accuse their opponents of, I would not be at all surprised to see Kirby, Price, and Jen Psaki solemnly describing foreign tragedies that were born and bred in the U.S. of A. As a friend observed, the FBI probably already owns all the Nazi paraphernalia in North America. You never know when a swastika will come in handy to smear an imaginary “domestic terrorist,” disgruntled trucker, or angry parent complaining about his local school board.

A better read: Why Russia loves banging on the 'fake news' drum

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has a knack for soundbites, and the allegation by US officials that Russia was cooking up a "graphic propaganda video" to create a pretext for invading Ukraine was no exception.

"This is delusional, in my opinion, this kind of fabrication," he told a Russian reporter Friday. "And there are more and more of them every day, it is obvious to any more or less experienced political scientist."

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) loves a fake news story -- that is, they love to pounce on anything they can present as Western spin, dissembling or propaganda.

When it comes to generating disinformation, the Russian government has a formidable track record, but the war in Donbas has taken the practice to new heights for Russia. The downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014 was the textbook case. Russian media spun out a range of conspiracy theories to explain the tragedy, from the somewhat-plausible to the absurd. The Dutch Joint Investigation Team, which conducted the criminal investigation into the crash, concluded that the aircraft was brought down by a Buk missile system that ultimately belonged to the Russian army.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/04/europe/russia-fake-news-propaganda-cmd-
intl/index.html

Russia has always fought back against the Truth with a cheap method: declare that the Truth is a Lie and then present Russian lies as the Real Truth. Because words have a price to produce of approximately zero, this method costs Russia almost nothing, which is why Russia uses the method constantly.

Trump was also referring to Biden as a fake winner, but Trump has always been throwing Fake News accusations about everything. It is completely predictable that 74,222,958 Trump voters would go along with Trump rather than declare his constant lying about everything all the time as the end of Trump's career. It isn't just Bellingcat/White Helemts/"Assad gassed his own people" false flag, and the Steele "dossier"/Trump-as-Putin's-puppet hoax.

Most people forget, but the original "Saddam/WMD" allegation didn't come from the CIA or DIA, it came from Britain, under Tony Blair. When that proved to be false, one war and a few trillion dollars later, the CIA whined... "well, it wasn't US. We just passed it along".

Our "intelligence" agencies use British "intelligence" agencies to fabricate disinfo for them so the disinfo looks more credible and CIA has plausible deniability. I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of UK sources any farther than I could throw a piano. They truly lie worse than our own agencies.

Slovakia lawmakers approve defense military treaty with US

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) — Slovakia’s parliament on Wednesday approved a defense military treaty with the United States.

The treaty allows the U.S. military to use two Slovak air force bases — Malacky-Kuchyna and Sliac — for 10 years while Slovakia — a NATO member — will receive $100 million from the U.S. to modernize them.

The deal was signed by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Slovakia’s defense minister, Jaroslav Nad, on Feb. 3 in Washington. It still needs to be ratified by President Zuzana Caputova, who supports it.

The vote took place amid fears that Russia will invade Ukraine. Moscow has massed more than 100,000 troops near Ukraine’s borders, but insists it has no plans to attack. Slovakia borders Ukraine.

Thanks for the assist, Putty. This helps a lot.

Let's just say that there's not a single government in the world that I would trust with anything important.

It's not in their best interests to be truthful with any of us plebs.

‘It Doesn’t Take Much to Slit the Throat of a Russian Soldier’: Fox News Analyst Predicts ‘Brutal’ Slog If Russia Invades Ukraine

Griffin explained that Putin’s occupations of Crimea and the Donbas regions of Ukraine have likely alienated any everyday Ukrainians who might be inclined to remain neutral:

They are not neutral anymore. And they are anti-Moscow, anti-Russia, and maybe what they lack in terms of weapons, they don’t lack in terms of a will to fight. And it doesn’t take much to slit the throat of a Russia soldier. And that is what you’re going to see. You’re going to see a brutal conflict ensue. Those are the intelligence estimates that we’ve been hearing about from the U.S. officials, and this is not a cakewalk. And Putin may have a stronger military, may be able to dominate Ukraine in the first two weeks, but it’s occupying a country like Ukraine – that is where empires get drained.

Thank Putin for goals leading his nation where despair and dread spreads to all visual artists.

The Square by Tatyana Tolstaya, June 12, 2015

Desacralize: to divest of sacred qualities or status.

Dehumanization and “desacralization” are one and the same.

“Desacralization” was the slogan of the twentieth century; it’s the slogan of ignoramuses, of mediocrity and incompetence. It’s a free pass doled out by one dimwit to another bonehead while trying to convince the third nincompoop that everything should be meaningless and base (allegedly democratic, allegedly accessible), and that everyone has the right to judge everyone else; that authority can’t exist in principle, that a hierarchy of values is obscene (since everyone’s equal), and that art’s worth is determined solely by cost and demand. Novelties and fashionable scandals are surprisingly not that novel and not that scandalous: fans of the Square keep presenting various bodily fluids and objects created from them as evidence of art’s accomplishments. It’s as if Adam and Eve—one suffering from amnesia, the other from Alzheimer’s—were attempting to convince each other and their children that they are clay, only clay, and nothing but clay.

I’m considered an “expert” in contemporary art by an arts fund in Russia that’s subsidized by foreign money. They bring us art projects and we decide if said projects should get funding or not. There are actual experts working alongside me on this panel, true connoisseurs—old art, “pre-Square.” All of us can’t stand “The Black Square” and the “self-assertion of that entity called ‘the abomination of desolation.’ ” Yet they keep submitting projects that consist of “the abomination of desolation,” solely of the abomination, and nothing else. We are obligated to spend the money that has been allocated to the fund or else it will be closed. We try our best to fund those who come up with the least pointless and annoying ideas. One year, we funded an artist who placed empty picture frames along a riverbank, and another artist who wrote “ME” in big letters that cast a beautiful shadow, as well as a group of creators who organized a campaign to clean up dog feces in St. Petersburg’s parks. Another year, it was a woman who affixed stamps to rocks and mailed them to various cities in Russia, as well as a group that made a pool of blood in a submarine, which visitors had to step over while listening to the letters of Abelard and Heloise via headphones. After our meetings, us members of the panel step out for a silent smoke, where we try to avoid making eye contact with one another. We then silently shake hands and hurriedly walk home.

Russian media are now claiming there are lots of US troops in Ukraine. Such a claim, not even backed up by some fake video, would clearly serve as an excuse for an invasion.

Besides these reports about Russian media claiming US troops in Ukraine, there are also lots of reports that Putin’s own position in Moscow is not secure, that many around him want him out. It even may be that this possible invasion is partly going on to distract from that and to keep people in line. But a failed invasion could trigger his overthrow.

It is reasonable of President Biden to be urging US citizens to leave Ukraine at this time, and maybe reason will prevail in the head of V.V. Putin, which is what matters.

Yeah. Like I said a week ago, hopefully Putin realizes that pudding head Joe* won't have any power soon and that traitor to our country does not speak for the American People.

Let's worry about our own border, and the fact that traitor Biden* and his traitor head of HS is flying illegal alien men all over our own country under the cover of night.

As Vladimir Putin steps up his military pressure on the Ukrainian border, there are signs that some members of Russia’s officer corps oppose his actions.

The most eyebrow-raising of these dissents is an open letter by retired Col. Gen. Leonid Ivashov posted on the website of the All-Russian Officers’ Assembly, which he chairs. In it, he rejects Putin’s claim that NATO poses a threat to Russia’s vital interests, warns that invading Ukraine “will forever make Russians and Ukrainians mortal enemies,” and calls on Putin to step down.

He concludes, “We, Russia’s officers, demand that the President of the Russian Federation reject the criminal policy of provoking a war in which Russia would find itself alone against the united forces of the West.”

Unlike most criticisms of Putin, even from less venerated sources, Ivashov’s appeal—which was posted on Jan. 31—hasn’t been taken down. Nor has anyone issued a rebuttal. Nor has any member of Ivashov’s organization dissociated himself from the denunciation.

Ivashov’s public appeal is significant, in that it speaks to the frustration and concern felt within a fraction of the Russian political scene that tends to remain behind the scenes, yet which has perhaps more traction than any other within the security forces, which are also the ultimate guarantors of Putin’s authority.

Another example of internal dissent—less dramatic, but in some ways more intriguing and possibly more significant—is an article by retired Col. Mikhail Khodarenok. As the former head of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces’ General Staff and the editor of an influential military journal, Khodarenok has strong ties with active-duty senior officers.

In last week’s issue of the widely read Independent Military Review, Khodarenok derides the notion, held by many senior political officials in Moscow, that Russia could conquer Ukraine in short order. This view, he writes, reflects “complete ignorance of the military-political situation and the mood of the broad masses” in Ukraine. It ignores the fact—of which he says there should be “no doubt”—that Western nations would send Ukraine massive quantities of arms similar to the U.S. Lend-Lease Act that helped the Allied armies in World War II. He reminds readers that Josef Stalin’s soldiers “fought the nationalist underground in Western Ukraine for more than 10 years”—and that the resistance fighters in today’s Ukraine would be fiercer still. “Finally,” Khodarenok concludes, “the most important thing: An armed conflict with Ukraine is currently fundamentally not in Russia’s national interest.”

If an invasion of Ukraine bogs down as troops are sent home in body bags, the grounds will have already been laid for serious, perhaps fatal opposition not only to Putin’s war, but possibly to his rule.

1) The entire Ruusian political and serving military establishment has stood shoulder to shoulder saying that they had NO INTENTION of invading Ukraine absent hostile action from Ukraine or the west. They don't want Ukraine, it's a dumpster fire and a headache that Russia doesn't want or need. If Russia were to do anything, they would probably do what they did in Georgia: destroy it's military capability and withdraw.

2) Russia is not "alone". IF war were to break out in Ukraine, China would be all-tio happy to turn the situation into a two-front war, and America's other enemies (Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, possibly even Venezuela) would probably find it a propitious time to pile on, creating a multi-front conflict that would pull American resources in a half-dozen different directions.

So it's all bullshit.

The "invasion" of Ukraine was supposed to happen yesterday.

Maybe today? Tomorrow?

I'm waiting for USA/UK operatives to launch their provocation/ false flag. Bc the only way you can predict when a war will start is if you intend to launch it yourself

Since the Ukraine military probably doesn't want to commit suicide, if it happens it will probably not be a mass attack (shelling of the Donbas for example) but a high-imoact small operation. Possibly shooting down a Russian jetliner in Russian airspace from Ukrainian space (provocation). Or the west's favorite ploy: a chemical weapons attack on western Ukraine, claiming the Russians did it (false flag).

Or hopefully nothing will happen. Biden* will claim victory!

Meanwhile, the Russian exercises are due to wind down on the 20th. The troops will be sent back to their home bases (far east).

Quote:

The Big White House Plans Behind Its 'Russian Invasion' Scam

As the 'Russian invasion' scam reaches new heights it is time to look at the motives behind it.

The noise has become deafening.

US warns war could be ‘imminent’ in Ukraine - Politico, Feb 11, 2022

> The U.S. intelligence briefing included specific reference to next Wednesday, February 16, as a start date for the ground invasion, three officials — based in Washington, London and Ukraine — told POLITICO. <

Russian invasion could begin at any time, White House says - Reuters, Feb 14, 2022

'Could' is doing a lot of work in those headlines.

Can we get it a bit more precise?

DAWN RAID Russia set to invade Ukraine at 1AM tomorrow with massive missile blitz and 200,000 troops, US intelligence claims - The Sun, Feb 15, 2022
Russia will order invasion of Ukraine at 3am tomorrow, sources say - Coventry Telegraph, Feb 15, 2022

1am or 3am?

Which is it?

And in what timezone?

And 200,000 troops? Yesterday there were only 100,000. How can those have doubled over night?

There is also the question of why.

Why has the Biden administration created an artificial 'crisis' about a Russian invasion of Ukraine when such an invasion is neither planned nor likely to happen? Why is it claiming that a Russian invasion of the Ukraine is 'imminent' when Russia as well as the Ukraine deny that any will be coming.

Why does it distribute misleading satellite pictures of allegedly deployed tanks when those are directly next to the barracks where they belong? Why does it hype a 'Russian buildup' when that is something that is claimed each and every year?

Jack Matlock, the last U.S. ambassador to the USSR, has one answer:

Maybe I am wrong – tragically wrong – but I cannot dismiss the suspicion that we are witnessing an elaborate charade, grossly magnified by prominent elements of the American media, to serve a domestic political end. Facing rising inflation, the ravages of Omicron, blame (for the most part unfair) for the withdrawal from Afghanistan, plus the failure to get the full support of his own party for the Build Back Better legislation, the Biden administration is staggering under sagging approval ratings just as it gears up for this year’s congressional elections.

Since clear "victories" on the domestic woes seem increasingly unlikely, why not fabricate one by posing as if he prevented the invasion of Ukraine by "standing up to Vladimir Putin"?

Actually, it seems most likely that President Putin’s goals are what he says they are – and as he has been saying since his speech in Munich in 2007. To simplify and paraphrase, I would sum them up as: "Treat us with at least a modicum of respect. We do not threaten you or your allies, why do you refuse us the security you insist for yourself?"

Alastair Crooke points to a different motive:

The authoritative Global Times in an editorial warns that the U.S. is instigating conflict in Ukraine in order to tighten bloc discipline – to corral European States back into the U.S.-led fold. No doubt, China makes the connection that Ukraine provides the perfect pivot for shepherding Europe towards America’s next stage of requiring a united front with the U.S. for the later task of barricading-in China, behind her borders.

In play, therefore, are key decisions that will define Europe for the future. On the one hand, (as Pepe Escobar noted some two years ago), “the goal of Russian and Chinese policy is to recruit Germany into a triple alliance locking together the Eurasian land mass à la Mackinder into the greatest geopolitical alliance in history – switching world power in favour of these three great powers, and against Anglo-Saxon sea power”.

And on the other hand, NATO was conceived, from the outset, as a means of Anglo-American control over Europe and more precisely for keeping Germany ‘down’, and Russia ‘out’ (in that old axiom of western strategists). Lord Hastings (Lionel Ismay), NATO’s first Secretary General, famously said that NATO was created to “keep the Soviet Union out, the Americans in, and the Germans down”.

This mindset lingers on, but the formula has acquired today a greater import, and a new twist: To keep Germany ‘down and price uncompetitive’ versus U.S. goods; to keep Russia ‘out’ from being Europe’s source of cheap energy; and to keep China ‘fenced out’ from EU–U.S. trade. The aim is to contain Europe firmly within America’s narrowly defined economic orbit and compelled to forgo the benefits of Chinese and Russian technology, finance and trade – thus helping towards achieving the aim of barricading China within its borders.

I find both explanations, the domestic one and the foreign policy one, very plausible and a combination of them is the most likely motive behind the plan for is affair.

The Washington Post explains how the campaign was hashed out and directed from the White House. Its headline though is misleading:

Inside the White House preparations for a Russian invasion
A “Tiger Team” of administration officials has spent the past several months preparing a clear series of responses, gaming out scenarios from cyberattacks and limited intervention to an invasion of Ukraine.

A more correct headline would have been "Inside the White House preparations of the 'Russian invasion' scam".

Lets look into that:

As fears grow of potential Russian aggression against Ukraine, a “Tiger Team” led by the White House is quietly gaming out how the United States would respond to a range of jarring scenarios, from a limited show of force to a full-scale, mass-casualty invasion.

The White House team has staged two multihour tabletop exercises — including one with Cabinet officials — to bring the scenarios to life and assembled a playbook that outlines an array of swift potential responses, starting with Day One and extending through the first two weeks of an envisioned Russian invasion.

The effort, senior administration officials said, has not only helped them anticipate possible complications, but has also prompted them to take actions ahead of time, such as exposing Russian information warfare before it’s carried out to blunt its propaganda power.

The team preplanned their daily propaganda releases step by step:

The “Tiger Team” — a term referring to a diverse group of experts who are tackling a specific problem and that suggests alertness and a readiness to pounce — was created after National Security Council officials last October detected troubling signs of a massive Russian troop buildup on the Ukrainian border.

NSC officials readily admit they may be unable to precisely anticipate the moves of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his military leaders. But the exercise and robust planning is still worth it, they said.

“The reality is that what the Russians may end up doing is not likely to be a 100 percent match for any of these scenarios,” [Jonathan Finer, deputy national security adviser to President Biden,] said. “But the goal is for them to be a close enough facsimile of what they end up doing that the plans are useful in terms of reducing the amount of time we need in order to respond effectively. That’s really the whole goal.”

The 'massive Russian troop buildup on the Ukrainian border' has never happened in real life. Most of the Russian troops are hundreds of miles away from Ukraine.

It was the Washington Post which on October 30 2021 was the first to publish the claims by 'anonymous officials' of a 'Russian buildup'.

(Side remark: The name 'Tiger team' or 'Tiger squad' was also used for the Saudi group that killed and hacked up a Washington Post opinion writer Jamal Khashoggi. Funny that the Washington Post piece does not mention that fact.)

Back to the 'tic toc' the WaPo provides:

The Tiger Team was officially born in November, when national security adviser Jake Sullivan asked Alex Bick, the NSC director for strategic planning, to lead a planning effort across multiple agencies. Bick has brought in the Departments of Defense, State, Energy, Treasury and Homeland Security, along with the U.S. Agency for International Development to look at a possible humanitarian crisis.

The intelligence community is also involved, gaming out various courses of action the Russians might pursue and the risks and advantages of each, officials said.

While the official launch of the 'Tiger team' might have been in November it is clear that the whole operation started earlier when the Ukrainians were asked to take part in the sham:

Simon Shuster @Shustry - 8:29 PM · Feb 14, 2022

Source close to Zelensky told me the U.S. first warned his team of a Russian invasion last fall, putting the chances at 80%. The Ukrainians didn't buy it, but they saw an opportunity -- "more aid, more attention" -- and played along. Now they have regrets. Too much attention.

The CIA has flown paramilitaries from Ukrainian Nazi groups to the U.S. to train them:

While the covert program, run by paramilitaries working for the CIA’s Ground Branch — now officially known as Ground Department — was established by the Obama administration after Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea in 2014, and expanded under the Trump administration, the Biden administration has further augmented it, said a former senior intelligence official in touch with colleagues in government.

By 2015, as part of this expanded anti-Russia effort, CIA Ground Branch paramilitaries also started traveling to the front in eastern Ukraine to advise their counterparts there, according to a half-dozen former officials.

The multiweek, U.S.-based CIA program has included training in firearms, camouflage techniques, land navigation, tactics like “cover and move,” intelligence and other areas, according to former officials.

These groups will be the forces to use when the U.S. decides to launch some false flag 'Russian attacks' on Ukrainian civilians.

As you watch it consider that every move in this is preplanned:

The playbook itself goes far beyond battlefield scenarios, looking at questions like how to address Ukrainian refugees who might stream into Poland and Romania, how to secure the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, exactly what sort of sanctions to impose on Moscow, and how to fight back against a sophisticated cyberattack.

The playbook — which synthesizes nearly three dozen papers and intelligence assessments commissioned by the team from various agencies — has been distributed to the various officials, including military and civilian leaders at the Pentagon.

The playbook also considers “second order” consequences, such as Russian retaliation for any penalties.

Those 'sophisticated cyberattacks' will most likely come from the National Security Agency which is part of the Pentagon. When the White House will claim that it has evidence of a 'Russian cyberattack' on Ukraine, which it is likely to do, keep in mind that anyone who claims to be able to find the real source of such an attack is selling snake oil.

Along the playbook the White House also released disinformation which claims that Russia will use such:

Among the Tiger Team’s top concerns is a Russian effort to promote the false narrative that it is Ukraine, aided by the West, that is preparing to launch an offensive in eastern Ukraine, and that Russia is the victim.

In recent weeks, the U.S. government has declassified intelligence about such efforts, including a potential “false flag” plot in which Moscow would stage an explosion that kills ethnic Russians in Ukraine or in Russia itself, and then blame it on Kyiv as a possible pretext for an invasion.

The White House has declassified nothing that anyone was allowed to see. As the NYT correctly remarked:

For all the disclosures, the Biden administration has provided no evidence of the disinformation plots they say they have uncovered.

The 'Russian invasion' scamp was approved from the top:

In December, the Tiger Team held two virtual tabletop exercises to road-test various scenarios and responses. The first brought together deputy secretaries and the second involved Cabinet officials. Biden has reviewed the playbook and was briefed on the results, officials said.

“It’s one thing to consider each of these problems — energy, sanctions, military posture — in isolation. It’s quite another to put them all together and execute a plan on all of them,” the NSC official said. “What I saw over the course of this planning exercise was, including at the most senior levels, lightbulbs go on about the way the pieces fit together.”

The plan is integrated enough to allow for aims and achievements in multiple fields.

That is why I believe that both, Matlock and Crooke, are right in their guesses of the motives behind the 'Russian invasion' scam.

There are domestic aims and there are foreign policy aims and the pieces of the plan fit them together.

But that is only so if the whole thing does not unravel. In real life no battle plan survives the first contact with the enemy.

Zelensky's much criticized unwillingness to play his part of the show may just be one of the elements that will let it all fall apart.

Then there is Russia which is always good at creating real surprises. I bet that its security demands and the draft treaties it provided where not foreseen in the playbook. They already succeeded in pressing Biden into concessions the U.S. had previously been unwilling to make. More surprises in different areas will follow. As soon as the Olympics are over China may also come to play a role in this.

Big plans make for big failures.

A more detailed explanation for this farce is that the Biden* admin wants to prevent NordStream2 at all costs bc one of the sanctions for a Russian "invasion" is the cancellation of NS2. Biden* even reserves the right to sanction NS2 WITHOUT a Russian "invasion" to punish Russia for.... (??). This whole "invasion" scam is to paint Germany into a suicidal corner.

Meanwhile, the nation that is suffering is the soccer ball itself: Ukraine. Airlines are no longer flying over Ukraine and commercial jetliners won't land there. Bc of this constant hyping of "imminent invasion" panic has set in- the wealthy have chartred private jets and are leaving in droves, Ukraine can't borrow on the international market, insurers will no longer insure Ukrainian loans, people are panic-buying and hoarding goods and pulling their money from the banks, 43 nations have evacuated their embassies, foreign "trainers" are leaving, and even a planned meeting of the Rada couldn't be held bc a quorum wasn't present.

Zelenskiy is doing his best to stem the tide of panic, asking Biden* to visit Ukraine on the day of the supposed invasion... but Biden* has no such intention. "Z" has repeatedly asked for evidence and disputed the narrative, but nobody listens to him, or Russia.

Russian Today (RT) Chief Spouts Ukraine Extermination Camp Lie

Simonyan claimed that Ukraine has been waging a war against its own people for eight years, killing thousands of civilians. Thousands of children who had “their arms and legs torn off” were “buried in small coffins,” she said.

She used inflammatory language to argue for a humanitarian intervention:

“Russia cannot but stop this war. What are we waiting for? For when camps are organized there? For when they are gassing their own people?”

Not to dissimilar to Justin Trudeau's lies about his own people.

Sure, he's not killing anyone... yet.

Just doing everything in his power to make sure that any Canadian citizens that don't agree with him lose everything including the ability to feed themselves and their families.

The same thing would happen to these truckers if they decided to drive without a Canadian drivers license and protested licensing by blocking bridges. Or the truckers decide to drive without functioning brake lights on their trailers and protest against brake lights by blocking bridges. Or the truck drivers protest against speed limits by blocking bridges. Or drivers protest against license plates on trucks and trailers by blocking bridges. License plates are Trudeau's tyranny!

Not to correct you, but this about truck drivers blocking bridges because of a mandate that they have to get vaxed if the truck crosses the border into the USA. The truckers don't have to starve to death if they drive exclusively within Canada, which is a big country with lots roads for truckers to make a living upon.

This is a fight against tyranny and Government overreach. They are fighting for citizens of the world.

You're a Leftist coward piece of shit that wants Government to have 100% control over every one of us.

You are going to lose.

Democrats in America are going to be absolutely destroyed in November, and we're going to see this happen all across the world now.

And Justin Trudeau is very unlikely to even make it to the next election before he's ousted. His own party is turning against him.

Thousands of civilians including hundreds of chilren HAVE been killed in the Donbas, originally because of Kiev shelling civilian areas but also bc of landmines and unexploded ordnance. Kiev has destroyed many homes and much infrastructure, and their original intent was to ethnically cleanse the Donbas (drive as many as possible into Rssia) so they could take over the region. Also, once ANYONE has been shelled or blown up, there really isn't much to bury.

Russia's Foreign Ministry is now unleashing a storm of criticism in the form of mockery and memes, with ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Wednesday jokingly requesting of the US and UK governments and media to go ahead and publish a schedule of Russia’s "upcoming invasions" of Ukraine for the current year.

She said that she's worried about timing her vacations so they don't get interrupted by her country's scheduled invasions...

A False Claim From Putin About the Ukraine War

Vladimir Putin: “Opportunities to peacefully restore the territorial integrity of [Ukraine] through direct dialogue with Donetsk and Luhansk are still ignored.” February 15, 2022

Putin’s claim that dialogue has been “ignored” is false. These distortions are aimed at convincing Russian domestic audiences, and less well-informed people in other countries, that Ukraine is to blame for the current impasse.

Putin's claim simply does not comport with reality.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov compared Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister during WWII.

In my opinion, the people who would vote for Trump a third time are no different than the 36.5 percent of adults who are obese. They are a fat burden on America. My advice: Loss the weight and don't vote for that fat lying sack of shit, Trump. By the way, 6ix, I don't hire the obese. And if they get fat and useless, they're fired.
