Likes to mess with stuffs.

You read right. A Thundercats movie is really in the works. Here is CG footage to prove it.

NAVYSEILS

I have no idea what I think of this yet.

I love Thundercats. This is pretty different from how I remember, hopefully it works.

Not quite. That was a test reel for a proposed movie a few years ago, which never got the greenlight. So, that's all we'll likely ever see of that incarnation.

They do have a new series coming up, though.

Hmmm. I dunno. This was one of those TV show's back in the 80's which left me cold. I think the whole concept was just a bit too out there for me....
Liono's outa-whack hairdo used to bug me and I also used to just crack up at Mumrah's soliloquy's. Something about that guy was just too funny!

Or maybe I'm just a dog person...

Thundercats had horrible dialogue (apparently by design; the voice director was trying to replicate what he thought comic book heroes sounded like), but great continuity and worldbuilding.

To give an idea of how far along the new show is, check out the Toyfair pics from this weekend:

And a description of the "sizzler" reel (concept art) that was shown:

And another look, including out first glimpses of animation models for Slythe, Mumm-ra the Everliving, and the Thunderkittens:

ZEEK

I remember thinking thundercats were awesome as a kid. Then I tried watching an episode or two as an adult and it did not hold up in the slightest. Can't say I'd really be looking forward to a reboot. Though I guess with brand new writing it could be good.

Your second and third links are broken.

Blame the forum; you'll have to manually add that slash at the end.

Ah, I hadn't even noticed them there.

Well nostalgia has it's part with these things. I remember fondly the cartoon animated series of Ulysees 31 - but whether it would hold up to modern scrutiny is anoher thing. I like it but I appreciate I may be somewhat given over to sentiment and nostalgia

Cheers for the links. It was interesting seeing the model work. On reflection I actually quite like the design of Mumra, and that's still strong; the design of it. So who knows. Given some good voice work it may shine....

Always liked Thundercats, but I preferred Silverhawks. I will check out the new show though, maybe there'll be something there.

And we have a trailer from Cartoon Network (via a camera pointed at a monitor, so it's low-quality).

EDIT: Updated with a slightly higher-quality one. Still no HD, but at least now you can see stuff.
