America loves a winner!

Knowing nothing of the characters / story line before, I have no clue what to expect.

It does take me back to the days before Firefly was aired, and the weasels at FOX were trying to figure out just how to sell the series.

Whacky, zany space pirates ? Swashbuckling sci-fi ? I'd like to think that Vin Diesel chose to sign up for something not terrible.

Once I found Serenity

I saw the trailer and it has that same potential. If the movie works for me like the trailer I may agree with your perspective on this.

Caught a glimpse of the trailer and it looks pretty funny.......as an aside, I went into The Lego Movie not expecting much and it was all kinds of fun......why do I mention the Lego Movie, because it has Chris Pratt, who is Hi-larious (Parks & Rec)......could be more of the same kind of fun

STORYMARK

Feels a whole lot closer to Farscape meets Marvel, to me (what with the alien band of escaped prisoners and all).
