The Revenant is beautiful, haunting, gritty and spectacular. It is sparse, wide-ranging, raw and commands your attention. It is a revenge movie but delivers on it's message of love in the purest sense; the love one has for our children and that of
our significant other. Simple honest love, during a simpler time; that is the movie's
theme throughout, that and the even simpler message to live your life to the last breath.

If you thought that Bird Man was great, wait until you experience The Revenant. Innaratu weaves that simple but true story, into a story about the brutal and
uncompromising settlement of the west. It follows a group of trappers seeking to
deliver and get paid for their wares - furs and beaver pelts - and their venture
across treacherous terrain closely pursued by the Natives of the land. But this
movie totally belonged to Leonardo DiCaprio, who totally committed to the journey
made by the mountain man Hugh Glass. I could go on to describe some of the ordeals
that Glass endured, but I would be cheating you of the experience of participating
in this film. Yes, I felt the cold, the desperation, the love, the wonderous
beauty of the Argentine mountains (replacing that of the Rockies, due to
lack of snow).

If one could call the cinematography a character within the movie,
well Innratu casted well. He chose to film with natural light and cinematographer
Emmanuel Lubezki painted a masterpiece; if there's any justice in the world, he will be called to the podium come Oscar time. A more perfect film I have not seen.
It should win Best Film of 2015, and will be a classic for years to come.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Definitely interested in this, and should have seen it today instead of going to Star Wars, but my nephew wanted to see it.

I do believe you will appreciate this movie, aside from "Sleepy" (The Somnambulist), the most of all here. It reminded me of the movies of substance in the 70s like Little Big Man, Days of Heaven and THX-1138.

I don't want to over hype this movie, but I found out that it just won a Golden Globe for Best Picture (I know that's not saying much, but trust me on this one). The Revenant will be a modern day classic for some years to come; I'm adding it to my movie collection
when it's released.
