So let's take a moment to recall and list which films have been your favorites so far this year. So far my list is: The Promise Gifted Colossal Megan Leavey John Wick 2 Brimstone is listed as 2016, but has a release date in 2017, so including it. The Mummy Baywatch (not because of greatness, but due to not much else better) As I look at it, none of the ones I was most looking forward to have panned out. I was hoping to list 10 films, but either they have been lame so far, or I already forgot some good ones. Help remind me.

Help remind me.I like your list, here are my picks: Wonder Woman Logan The above movies top my list as 1 and 1A, both excellently done with very minor flaws, but the best so far this year - bar none. Hidden Figures Colossal John Wick 2 And that's pretty much it. Now, mind you, I have yet to see a couple of films that you have listed, but I will make it a point to see this summer and will revise my list further down the road. Here are the ones I haven't seen: The Promise Gifted Megan Leavey Brimstone The Mummy Baywatch Out of these I think I will be watching Gifted, Megan Leavey and maybe The Mummy. As for the rest - Netflix. SGG

It may have been a rerun, she said she had just had her second kid 2 months before. Anyhow, Jimmy pronounced her name like "Gaul (or Gol) Guh-DOTE" and did so several times with her present, and she did not indicate this was incorrect. I was thinking Godot was pronounced "GO-doe" by comparison.

I haven't used etymology symbols for a long time, so without looking them up I'm not exactly getting if you got Godot right. But I actually HAVE heard that name pronounced, not only by a college professor, but in the version Burgess Meredith was in http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348334/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_134. It's definitely not pronounced the way you're saying that he was pronouncing her last name. I don't keep up much with any current events, especially celebrity stuff. I haven't even watched a late night show in over a decade.

I hear they're pretty good. Maybe I should put them on my watch list. Jimmy probably doesn't have a huge studio audience, but I'm sure anybody knows that it's going to be watched by millions of people too. I don't think too many people outside of Israel watch Miss Israel. I could be wrong about that.

Tokyo Drift jumped the shark. Hard to keep track after that. Gal's first was probably her best exposition of the franchise. I mostly was drawn by Jordana.

I actually thought the first one was pretty great at the time I saw it, and I never had a thing for cars. That was a time in my life when I was still pretty big into movies. Then they made the Tokyo Drift sequel that I wasn't interested in at all and by the time they started making all sorts of crazy sequels to it with the original cast I just really wasn't watching a lot of movies anymore. lol... now that I think about it... I might end up binge watching all of them at some point. It's practically like a TV show at this point, which is my preferred medium now.

But you could post them in the must-see films thread, for films that haven't been seen yet. I felt Colossal was charming enough to entertain Award hopes.

At the end of the calendar, sometimes it is hard to recall all the great films from the early part of the year, getting overshadowed by the summer blockbusters and award season royalty. Other films mentioned in this thread: Logan Wonder Woman Hidden Figures (released 2016) Transformers 5: The Last Knight Spiderman Autopsy of Jane Doe The Belko Experiment Dark Tower Logan Lucky Before I Fall Wind River

I expect there are some browncoats who enjoy films. So share what you liked, hopefully about 10 selections. If you have a dozen, or only a few worthy candidates, that's fine. Award worthy works, or just entertaining, like Bill and Ted or Ferris Bueler I'll try to whittle down my list. I have not yet seen Thor 3, Shape of Water, 3 Billboards, Snowman.
