Amazing the win a studio can achieve when their films focus on quality and listening to the FANS w/ out trying to shove Social Justice themes down the throats of the audience.

Yup. And the NPCs are trying to cancel Jim Carrey's career now ever since he jumped off the political woke train.

Do they think that Jim Carrey suddenly regained his sanity? Now that’s too damn funny.

Well, ya see, the thing is... I think he still very much believes anything that he was saying before. But I think that he realized that the woke train is coming to a halt and he jumped off early.

I guess he recently flirted with a reporter and the Titter Mob jumped all over him like it was the worst thing in the world. Then in an interview he said something along the lines of it being wonderful that Margot Robbie has become so successful in her career given how unfortunate looking she is. (I'm paraphrasing that, but it's pretty close to what he said).

They're seriously butt-hurt over the Birds of Prey movie doing so terrible and coming after Carrey hard.

How unfortunate looking she is? Was he trying to be sarcastic, and saying that of course she’s going to have a great career, just look at her, or does he really think she’s funny looking?

I don’t know if a part of Andy Kaufman rubbed off on Jim Carrey, or he wants people to believe that’s the case, because outside of what he does on the screen, I don’t think I could trust this guy to tell me that the ocean was wet.

Yeah. He was just making a joke, I'm sure. She won the genetic lottery. They might not even know each other, I dunno.

But the outrage mob is saying that what Carrey actually said is that she's talentless and doesn't deserve her career and is only there because she is beautiful.

Time will tell on that one I guess. There's literally thousands of actresses who never got a job again after their mid 30's. Maybe she'll be the next Angelina Jolie? I've never seen anything she's in, so I couldn't say.

Brie Larson is in the MCU simply because of her superior acting skills, to be sure.

No, it's because she can smile real pretty like and has a great rack. But she's a man hating bitch, which is why she's Captain Marvel now, so she doesn't HAVE to smile!

Brie better hope her acting skills are good.

Sonic cracks $70 Million in the US for the four day holiday weekend.

Worldwide gross over $113 Million.

In total, it's made 130% of the production budget back in only four days.

Sonic dips to the number two spot for Friday night behind Call of the Wild which is performing much better than expected.

Though it still takes second place behind CotW when you figure in reality, I think it's always pretty lame how they include Thursday night preview figures in with Opening Friday Night's numbers for a movie. It doesn't seem like it should be hard to separate those two numbers. I'm sure there is a reason why Hollywood doesn't want anybody to do that though.

While CotW is on record now for making more than $8 Million on opening night, it's actually just over $7 Million when you account for the $1 Million it made on Thursday. This still beats Sonic's second Friday by around $600,000.

I guess it happens, but how often does a woman w/ such a nice rack have such a plank for a backside? It's like her curves just stopped above her waist. Weird.

Weird? In 2020 sure.

Dude. Did you forget what white girls in the 80's and 90's looked like?

I used to joke that my high school had over a thousand girls and not an ass between them.

Brie probably suffers from an eating disorder, rather than having a skinny body the healthy way. That will be one of the few times I don't make fun of her because Anorexia or Bulimia are not funny. If I had to guess, she's Bulimic.

Hmmmmm...

I thought I had predicted that Sonic was going to take the box office in it's second weekend. I guess I didn't and must have thought it was too close to call with the way Call of the Wild opened, and the disingenuous way they tabulate Opening Friday's numbers with Thursday Preview's numbers for movies.

It might have been a larger Thursday and a smaller Friday than it seemed, since with no other explanation Sonic seems to have not only made up the $600k loss from Friday, but added another $1.5 Million on top of that during Saturday and Sunday shows to beat out CotW for the number one spot this weekend with $26.3 Million.

EDIT: I thought that CotW was rated R, and that might explain why Sonic did better on Saturday and Sunday, being family friendly, but CotW has a PG rating. So without any other explanation I can only assume that Friday nights numbers were slightly inflated by slightly devaluing Thursday's preview numbers.

If that's the case, it wouldn't be so much that it's very noticeable to most people, and I only noticed it because of how the rest of the weekend went. I'm sure that TPTB do this all the time for promotional reasons and it's not a one off thing.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

IDK, maybe it's her uniform. There's plank, cute but small and then junk in the trunk... she looks plank to me. But despite her 'flaws', I think she's physically a knock out.

Her mind and her personality, not so much.

So, because Sonic was NOT made gay, the alphabet community have their knives out and are ready and willing to spread lies with the intent to destroy this movie?

Doesn’t matter. The woke WANT him to be gay because then it’ll help normalize the alphabet crowd.

See how that works?

Take an established beloved character & just declare that he/ she is gay.

See captain Marvel, Captain America, Robin the boy wonder, Batwoman , Frodo & Sam, Merry & Pippin, Poe & Fin, ...

Make them gay, force fans to accept & love them or blast them for being phobes.

Haven't seen the film.

Apparently,, about a week ago somebody stole the hedgehog from our local zoo, The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
After about a week, she was returned.

I guess technically I'm a "gamer" , but Sonic never was all that interesting to me. I played the SEGA games a bit, but it was more to kill time while drinking on Friday nights before going out. I don't recall ever finishing the game, and if I did, I never got obsessed over it. Not like Zelda. ( my god, talk about marathon sessions for THAT game ! )

I'm glad it's doing well. No fan of Jim Carey any more, even if he's gifted and all, but it's a credit to the director and the studio for listening to the fans and not giving them all the middle finger, like so many others have done.

Yeah. I was always a Nintendo kid. A few of my friends had Genesis though, and everybody had sonic. They had some other good exclusives like XMen and Kid Chameleon that I only ever got to play at friends houses before emulation was a thing.

Hey, BTW Rap. You ever hear about the Zelda "randomizers"?

That's where it started, but they've randomized dozens of games now. Zelda, Zelda II, Link to the Past, Metroid, Super Metroid, the GBA Metroid games, Mario 64, a bunch of the Final Fantasy games, and just about every 2D Castlevania game since Symphony of the Night... just to name a few.

The only one I've tried so far is Zelda II, and it was a lot of fun. You run a little program on your PC that has dozens of options on it that change all sorts of things from aesthetics to difficulty, and you end up with an entirely new overworld map and items and spells are all over the place. It changes some memory of an original rom, makes a new rom with a "seed number" that you could share with a friend to get the exact same version, and you just play the new rom. It's like an automatic hacking machine.

They've even made randomizers that combine games. There's one for A Link to the Past and Super Metroid where you can enter certain points on either game's map and get sent to the other game without a way back until you manage to find one. You are also picking up items from each game inside of the other game as you progress. I thought that was really inventive.

Nothing beats the original Zelda. Nothing even comes close, imo. The other games, never came close to capturing and holding my attention. Then there were some weird animation changes, which kinda looked cool, but after a short time, the WOW factor wore off and I just never cared for the game.

So much effort went into the first game, and then afterwards, they took short cuts on story telling and game play...

Same thing with some movies. I was a fan of the first Hoodwinked, as it was really unique and original. The 2nd movie was just garbage, with different voice actors, and I didn't think the animation was the same. Or How to train your Dragon. I think there was an animated series on Netflix? Looked like unfinished B grade animation as well. Just had a weird feel to it.

You should try out the original Zelda rando for sure then.

Quote:

What is Zelda Randomizer?

Zelda Randomizer is an attempt to refresh the Legend of Zelda (from the NES), by enabling players to be able to explore the game as if playing for the first time. It patches a Zelda ROM to create a new ROM. By shuffling various things in the game, it creates a brand new game that requires some of the exploration that experienced players no longer need.
