Watched this on Sunday.

` other person was in the theater. Loked at Sound of Freedom, doxens were in there at the same time slot.

Ethan Hunt is in a war against Woke. Sure, it is past it's relevance - but this movie started filming 4 years ago. Ironically, the massive, numerous delays were due to Covid restrictions, which were endorsed by Tom Cruise. That is really quite humorous.

Ethan states in the film that he always thought that he was fighting for what was right, and that is were he will stay. But he is told that is the old way, and he needs to stop doing the right thing, stop being the rogue agent, and fit in with the times. Become part of the powerful Woke, so they can lie all the time to control the masses, be at one with the Fake News, the Fake Tech, the Fake media.

I did enjoy the cast, but had not reviewed it prior to seeing the film.
Haley Atwell looks good, as if she is to become the next Mrs. Tom Cruise - like Mimi Rogers and Katie Holmes.
Some may recall Charles Parnell from Maverick. Some might recall him from The Last Ship. And yes, he is a couple years younger than Tom.
I recognized Indira Varma, but could not place her.

Some will be disappointed that Tom does not seem to remove his shirt, or other clothing.
However, when Ethan goes to "The Party" there are dozens of dancers on elevated stages, and they might all be nude, not sure. The camera does not really focus on them, they are really just background.

Has Mission: Impossible 7 been a box-office hit or a box-office flop?

GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE!

I just looked and they must have had a MASSIVE update to the international numbers.

https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Mission-Impossible-Dead-Reckoning-Pa
rt-One-(2023)#tab=international

It was sitting at exactly $448,087,832 worldwide on Monday night when I updated the lists, but it's now at $693,957,472 just two nights later. It only made about $3 Million in the last two days in the US, so that's ALL international numbers that weren't tallied up before.

It's only made $142 Million in the US, but it's now made $551 Million internationally.

Using the probably outdated 2x Rule of Thumb on its $290 Million Production Budget, It has now made roughly $113 Million in profits. (And just yesterday my prediction was that it was going to take a full 60 days to break even based off of those much lower international numbers).

Even using the more likely accurate in 2023 2.5x Rule of Thumb, MI7 is only around $31 Million away from breaking even and making the studio money.

Either way, it isn't a flop, but it's not doing as well as they would have liked, I'm sure.

Studios better do something about curbing these insane budgets. And not just Disney.

The two biggest money makers this year are going to be Super Mario Bros and Barbie. Both of them only had a $100M budget. Bob Iger can't even take a leak without spending $100 Million, and $290 Million appears to be too big a budget for even a Tom Cruise vehicle.

EDITED TO ADD: Is it just me, or is it insane to know that MI7 has made over $325 Million so far in China when it hasn't even made $150 Million in the US?????

WTF, Bruce???

I wish I archive.org'd or at least took a screenshot before refreshing the International Tab for MI7.

All of those gains I talked about last night were wiped clean away.

https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Mission-Impossible-Dead-Reckoning-Pa
rt-One-(2023)#tab=international

Worldwide Box Office for MI7 is now back down to $452,640,389 with no explanation.

The Chinese box office for the film went from over $325M last night down to just under $50M this afternoon.

Now MI7 needs $127,359,611 just to break even on the 2.0x Rule of Thumb.

It needs $272,359,611 to break even with the 2.5x Rule of Thumb.

Unless those numbers get added back in, it's back to around the 60 days in theaters I predicted for MI7 to break even with the 2.0x RoT, and a very likely case that it loses money if the 2.5x RoT is used.

The only saving grace the film will have is (I believe) that both parts of the movie were shot together and the possibility they (for some reason) front loaded the budget and attached it to the first part and the entire production budget for the two parts wasn't a MASSIVE $580M, because if that's the case this franchise is DEAD.
