I enjoyed this film. I really loved the original.

I was really looking forward to seeing it, but got tied up over the weekend.

I had wondered how they might retain the charm, irreverence of the original. They did well, even explaining how the backstory of this adventure really does connect to what we knew from the first installment.

I can admit that, in one of the last scenes, I was reminded of the interviews in Bushwhacked.

No coda.

Decent was all I was really hoping for here. First movie was great, but I didn't really see a need for a sequel or any real way of making one that had any impact now that his entire family is in on the joke.

Kinda got worried when I saw stills that suggested they were on a family vacation and was thinking about the "Beetlejuice in Hawaii" sequel they thankfully never made, and the "Weekend and Bernies 2" trash sequel that they actually did make.

Sounds like it's leaning somewhere closer to the first movie than it is jumping the shark. That's good.
