Now that we all have our DVD sets and have seen all 13 episodes...

Has anyone tried watching the episodes in their production order? (different from the airing order, of course and can be found here: http://www.tvtome.com/Wonderfalls/eplist.html)

During the brief month Wonderfalls was on the air, I remember reading online somewhere that Fox was showing the eps out of order (where have we heard that before?). Just wondering if anyone has noticed continuity issues with the ordering on the DVD set which follows a different sequence and has "perviously on..." segments that don't jibe with what we've already seen on the discs.

^Actually I remember Tim Minear saying that he decided to air the episodes in a separate order from production order because he fealt it fit better.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

One thing I noticed about the "Previously On" segments before each ep...they usually go back several episodes and they feature situations that will be addressed again in the upcoming ep.

Towards the end of filming they decided that they needed a couple more 'setup' episodes at the front of the season. These episodes would be late in production order, but they were aired in their intended place. The second produced episode aired fourth, with the regular production schedule on track after that (had it continued). On the DVD's they moved that episode from #4 to #2. I like it better as #4, but there's really no reason why 2-4 can't be shuffled around.

I may be proclaiming my ignorance here, but when considering the episodes' order, I like the progression of the seasons. It seems to me that the 13 episodes were to have taken place over the course of a year. In the first episode, "Wax Lion", people are wearing heavy winter coats, and there is what looks to be ice on the base of the falls. In the episodes that were broadcast second and third, "Karma Chameleon" and "Wound-up Penguin", people are still wearing heavy coats, hats and scarves. And in "Karma Chameleon", the bar has what looks suspiciously like Christmas lights up outside. And then in "Pink Flamingos", which was broadcast fourth, flowers are blooming by Jaye's parent's driveway, there are leaves on the trees, and no-one is wearing big bulky winter coats. Perhaps it makes more sense in the story-arc for "Pink Flamingos" to be the second episode (I'm not convinced of that either!) but it's rather obvious what order they were filmed in.

JAYNE "Pain is scary..."
