I'm surprised I wasn't clapping! I couldn't contain myself with the twist ending that I wasn't expecting.

I had a feeling things were changed with the Intersect and had just about given up on Chuck being the intersect, especially after his Dad gave him his special wrist thing.

I figured they could easily continue on with that and Chuck being one of the only people besides his Dad who could use it and his relationship with all the gang being something that would never allow him to fully get away.

I suspected after what Bryce said that Chuck would become a superhero as he said he wished he was one earlier, but did not expect what actually happened. The reactions of Sarah and Casey were priceless!

So it looks like it will be back next season. The question is, what about Buy More and Chuck's sister. Are they going to be written off to cut costs.

Oh and it was one of their best episodes. To put that all together again in one episode was great.

This was a simply awesome episode. I just can't describe how much I love this show. I don't need to either as you all know and feel the same. It's sitting right next to Firefly now, in my heart of hearts.

BTW not to throw rain on your peanuts but for the record the rumors of a 13 episode season 3(spread over the weekend) have been debunked by the show's producer. He didn't confirm the show IS canceled he just reiterated that there isn't word either way yet.

I still hold out hope. If not for a season 3 on NBC, then one on USA or possible something else. Even if it's canceled this story will definitely live on in some way. I still think it'll get it's season 3 however.

Here's my theory:

They haven't announced it yet as it would almost certainly spell doom for another season of Medium. Medium hasn't had it's season finale yet. Therefore if they announce Medium is canceled by announcing Chuck isn't the ratings might drop for Medium... does that make sense? Not much. But it seems like reasoning these guys might use. Seriously though this is highly speculative speculation and I'm not even sure I believe it so don't quote me on it.

LOL

I was thinking the same thing! How Matrix-y!

Great episode. Everything was flying by so fast that I thought it was close to the end, but I'd pause it and there would be 20-30 minutes left! I was unable to watch it live, unfortunately

Lots of great lines, but I think the best was when Ellie was thanking Chuck for giving her the wedding she actually wanted:
Ellie - Sometimes I think you have super powers.
Chuck - I wish.
Ellie - I know!

The one problem I had with it - and it's not necessarily a bad problem - is that I think the producers and writers had an inkling that the show might not be picked up so they threw some answers out there that really should have waited a while. Like Chuck's dad actually being the guy who invented the intersect, Bryce knowing it, etc.). Years ago you had to wait several seasons for some big questions to be answered. I just think these days they throw it all out there at once and that severely shortens a show's life IMHO.

So . . . questions for Season 3 (I got a little frustrated with the "To Be Continued" because if it's not picked up that's a mean taunt):
1) What will happen to Chuck now? Real spy? He doesn't necessarily need protection any more. He can probably hold his own against Casey now
2) Was this meant to write out the folks at the Buy More? You could say they literally went out with a bang - at least Jeffster did. I hope not because I really like the Chuck/Morgan relationship.
3) Will Chuck finally find his own apartment?
4) Have we seen the last of Bryce? We thought he was dead before.
5) Who/what is this new threat? Did that guy call it The Ring? Meaner and more covert than Fulcrum? Hmmmmmm . . .
6) Sarah and Chuck . . . what now?

Incredible episode and a fantastic season finale!

How cool is it that Chuck now seems to be able to access the Intersect and download info like his shiny new Kung Fu ability?!? That was great!

Please NBC! Bring Chuck back next season!

I have to say....that was one of the most EPIC things I've ever seen. Simply amazing.

I saw the end coming, in fact, I saw a lot of it coming, but that didn't stop it from being gorram awesome!

RIPWash, I have to agree about the little problem you pointed out, but then these things spiced the show up a bit I thought, as otherwise this season probably wouldn't have been as exciting as it was, but yes, I do kind of agree with you.

My opinions on your open questions:
1) Something tells me there will be a lot of "how does this new intersect work?" and "how can we get it out of Chuck's brain?" but then also "lets exploit Chuck!" Casey definitely better watch himself!

2) I'm not SO bothered about the Buy More, although I did quite often like their exploits, but I really hope Morgan is still in it somehow. Chuck really wouldn't be Chuck without Morgan. And, is it just me, or did Jeffster seem to get infinitely better since the last episode they performed?

4) Something tells me he's actually dead this time, although I've been wrong before. This time it was a big deal, his death, and I'm not sure they'd want to cheapen that on later viewings.

As for the others? I have no idea.

But this show better come back. It's bad enough we have to wait until like September if it does, but if it doesn't come back at all?
Heads will roll.

I thought the whole thing felt very rushed. Like we were seeing 3 episodes crammed into one. I liked the very end for the actual moment of it, but I think it sufficiently kills the show. Unless there's some glitch in the new programming Chuck is essentially Neo. That ruins a lot of suspense. I mean just look at the matrix sequels. Neo was invincible and could do anything pretty much. That gets boring.

I'm still hoping they come back but I think they're going to pull a lot of silly stuff to get the show back in working order after this.

The way I see it right now is that the writers/producers did rush the final result (although they rushed it very well) in order to throw out some answers for the fans and make the ending a "Holy " moment for everyone. Chuck can now "download" information he needs to get by mentally and physically. But I'll also bet you that there are "gliches" in the system since the new one was such a rush job by Steve Bartowski. Brilliant man, but I'll bet he cut a few corners to get what he wanted in the timeframe Fulcrum AND the CIA was demanding of him. So therefore I'll bet that will cause some potential mayhem with Chuck in the possible (hopefully) 3rd season. Chuck needs info . . . it won't work at all or won't work correctly. He needs to learn JuJitsu, he downloads Advanced Knitting instead. LOL

I've been avoiding this thread because I hadn't watched the finale yet. I just finished it.

I'm damn near speechless.

Just WOW.

Chuck is one of a very, very few shows that has NEVER disappointed me. Supernatural is another. Some episodes are better than others, but I've never walked away from an episode thinking it was a waste of time, or a filler episode.

The Chuck season (and it BETTER be season, not series) finale was the best one yet!

I have no problems with questions being answered like those dealing with Chuck's father as long as others are there to replace them like what is this ring which is their new adversary, and how will Casey’s & Sarah’s characters have to change to fit into this new dynamic.

I tend to think we’ll no longer be a Buymore in the story line except in mention from time to time and I think this will make the secondary characters less regular and more recurring to save the producers money, but I think the secondary characters will have to adapt and grow to fit into this new dynamic too.

I’m not sure How Morgan will be able to keep his dream alive and still be in the show unless next season will have episodes in Hawaii, and Jeff & Lester “Jeffster” will have to quit Buymore and make it big. I sure hope “Chuck” gets picked up for a third season and if it goes to Hawaii that it doesn’t jump the shark.

Another question....will the intro change?

Chuck will no longer work at the BuyMore, which the intro sort of revolves around, not to mention that a few of the actors might not be regulars anymore (Jeff?, Lester?, Big Mike?, Anna?, Morgan?) not to mention the show seems to be taking a new direction...will this mean a completely new intro? A redo of the old intro? Same song, different footage? WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO THE INTRO!?!

The Buy More angle is pretty well played out. How many eps this year have had the stuff in the store totally divorced from the main story with Chuck just walking through in the first scene and then the last scene? Most of em. But fear not as Morgan has also quit the Buy More so he can follow his dream of hibachi chefdom in Hawaii. Five virtual bucks says Bartowski's vengeance against the shadowy, beyond Fulcrum, bad guys will take him to the Aloha state as well. Ellie and Awesome will have a nicely contrived reason to go too and Season three of Chuck will be a mix between Magnum PI and Secret Agent Man. Maybe Hawaii Five Oh with humor. South Pacific meets The Saint. With just a dash, a smidgen, a soupcon, a merest dusting of Get Smart.

Jefster, Big Mike and all the nerd herd extras get spun off into their own 30 minute comedy "The Battle of the Buy More" as Jeff and Lester look to the example of their departed hero Morgan and seek to rest control back from the claws of Emmett.

That's how I would program it at any rate.

I like your thinking. I'd bet on more webisodes either way all this swings. It's been said that no matter what happens Jeffster will rise again. There are rumors of a tour in the future.

I feel this is looking more and more in the general direction of UP. I won't let my hopes go there but logically thinking the ratings did infact go up the teeniest of a percent and this is all generating a lot of publicity for one of the shows leading sponsors.

Fellow Chuck loving Browncoats... we won't be let down, of that I know for sure. Even if they dash our hopes of a season 3 on NBC, there WILL be more in some form or another so take heart in that and find something constructive to do until we get real news in early May. And keep buying Subway and sending positive emails and letters. Negativity(though little has been seen around here) won't help in the least, though at worst, ignored completely. I for one am sending an encouraging letter and voicing my support for whatever they feel is right. However I'm also letting them know in a non-threatening way that there will be little on their network I'm interested in if Chuck isn't there, I only watch three NBC shows, Earl(also in danger of cancellation), Chuck and Heroes.

TV can compress time, remember --"a couple of weeks" could easily be half the season or more. Make each episode a single day's events, and that's 14 eps right there.

Thanksisall, 'tis Good idea. ;)

Also it just occurred to me that the way they ended it they could do any number of things next.

A movie set in Hawai'i would be perfect as they'll have cut the central "good-guy" cast down to just Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Ellie, Awesome, Orion, Morgan and Anna. Which is perfect since the movie wouldn't have to focus on too many angles. It'd also be easier to get them to make a movie like that since the Hawai'i aspect might pull in more viewers.

Webseries would work too as you could do a few for each group, Anna and Morgan in Hawai'i, Chuck, Sarah and Casey training Chuck or something, and Ellie and Awesome's Honeymoon/oth stuff. Plus they could, and probably will either way, do Jeffster Webisodes and more of the Buy More stuff like they've already done.

BTW Today we(my dad and sister and nephews) were discussing where to eat lunch and I suggested a place over by "Buy More"... I quickly corrected myself and said Best Buy. Damage done though. LOL

HEY! You know you're right Cybersnark!

That's interesting.... !SPOILER ALERT!... seriously though it's unneeded... if you've read this far this is nothing.

"In a episode 8, "Chuck vs. The Truth," Tang moves to Hawaii with his wife, who we discover had been having an affair with Big Mike for six months; the affair was apparently the only reason Big Mike gave Harry the promotion since he felt guilty about "diddling the Lady Tang." Tang leaves with the belief that he is to be a new spy operative in Oahu, Hawaii - a smooth lie courtesy of Major Casey to explain themselves when Casey, Sarah, and Chuck were caught in the Home Theater Room talking to their bosses during Tang's investigation of what he believed will be an rendezvous between his wife and Morgan." - http://chuck-nbc.wikia.com/wiki/Harry_Tang

Not only that, but Ausiello's Fall TV cheat sheet lists it as a safe bet(though not official).

I'm glad he's also listing Fringe as a sure thing and Lie To Me also (yes, guilty as charged, I like that show - Tim Roth is awesome).

I am concerned about The Mentalist, though. I like that show a lot, too, but it's not listed anywhere. What's the status of that show? Does anyone know?

I'm thinking they're not entirely gone.

Chuck needs to be the hero everyone knows he can be, but I also think he'll need that anchor to reality that is the Buy More. As outlandish as they can be, Lester and Jeff can be pretty funny, Morgan just may realize his Hibachi dreams are not all they're cracked up to be and . . . I have to admit, I'd hate to see the talent of Tony Hale go away (but just ONCE I'd like to have Emmett say "Hey, brother!").
