Quote: I thought 2 out of all the films best portrayed the mature, close friendship Kirk and Spock had developed over the years. It was at its peak.
Quote: Funny side note - I was watching TNG Season 1 the other day episode titled "Symbiosis" and noticed that the actors who played David Marcus and Khan's boot licker boy, second-in-command were both in that episode.

I just hate that pull-a-relative-out-of-a-hat trick. Then Spock had a bro. Maybe that s**t slides in a Indian Jones movie, but Trek? That's why I like 1, 4 & 6 better- little or no "Kirk's son" thing. Who's with me on this? I'm curious. The laughing Chrisisall

Quote:Originally posted by asarian: I certainly don't worship the Wrath of Khan. Primarily, really, because I think Khan himself is somewhat of a laughable figure. The ridicuous and continual flaunting of his uncovered chest (rather silly for a man his age) was rather a turn-off; and being surrounded by a group of marooned B-actors didn't exactly help him, either. He was also too much the bad guy, sans any nuance. And for someone allegedly that smart, it didn't dawn on him that Kirk might have the transponder codes of his hijacked vessel, did it? -- "Mei-mei, everything I have is right here." -- Simon Tam

They repaired V'ger and gave it new enhanced capabilities necessary to fulfil its' original mission. That's how V'ger was able to amass the wealth of knowledge and experience that it did, if I remember correctly.

WOK was definitely not the worst one (that questionable honor goes to The Final Frontier). But worship? Hell, no! None of the initial 6 Star Trek movies really qualify for worship, IMHO. Thematically (though I think they could have done more with it even), I still think The Motion Picture was the best.

Quote:Originally posted by Shinygoodguy: Freaking awesome description WnW: "his posse was the headbands many of them wore. It was like some kind of Mad Max / Xanadu smash-up or something." LMFAO! Olivia Newton John on steroids (I've always had a thing for the warrior woman with the oversized shoulderpads in MM2: The Road Warrior). I did a little digging and here's what I got: The actress' name is Virginia Hey, she was 29 and gorgeous when they filmed TRW. Her character's name: Warrior Woman (makes sense). Most recently she's had a recurring role in Farscape 1999-2002. What worked in Road Warrior, did not work in TWOK. I'm just sayin' (You know, with all the remakes, I'm surprised some genius hasn't come up with the brilliant idea to remake Mad Max. Peter Jackson could direct). SGG Tawabawho?
