Expired, forgotten, spoiled rotten.

Not to brag or anything but my wife thought I had seen the episode and was ruining it for her when I declared Fred Willard's character did it as soon as Castle saw that phrase written in the victim's notebook. I mean, damn, those red-herrings were easier to see through than the plot of Gone Baby Gone. Not to complain or anything, I never expected Castle to reinvent the genre of repetitive cop shows or anything, and I still enjoyed watching Nathan do his thing but that one was a little easy wasn't it? Or did I just get lucky?

Excited for the actor who played Sam Ander's from BSG to guest next week.

BYTEMITE

This episode was not very well written, if I'm to be honest. The "comforting" subplot was particularly embarrassing.

And I mean literally so, in that I normally only watch the show on my computer with headphones, and it just so happened I ended up watching this episode in the family room. Meaning FAMILY, in the vicinity. ._.

I pretended that I wasn't watching, and hoped no one realized this is the show I watch on my computer. I'm secretive and non-communicative at best, it's possible.

CYBERSNARK

I actually figured it was the actress Castle was being seduced by. I was expecting her to be pumping Castle for information (so to speak) to keep herself out of suspicion.

It was only when the sleazy network exec revealed he'd been sleeping with her when the murder took place that I realized she had an alibi --at which point, yes, Fred Willard became the obvious killer just because he's the Big Name guest star.

I try not to spoll the show for myself by thinking too far ahead. But I did also suspect the actress.

Anyone else notice the ceramic General Eisenhower head on Bobby Mann's desk.

Strange, I think Conan O'brian had one too.

LWAVES

I took a guess at Fred Willard as soon as I saw him just because he's someone I recognised. You're not gonna have a guest like that and not have him majorly involved (even if he didn't do it).
I had a couple of doubts when I saw the first ex-wife (Kate's Mum from Lost - Beth Broderick??). Thought maybe she could have done it until after they quizzed her.

A nice episode but definitely not the best. Still funny though.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I suspected him as soon as he appeared on screen. Funny thing is, his motive didn't make much sense. He wanted to talk Mann into taking the network's buy-out rather than be fired for a younger replacement, and yet with Mann dead what would he get?

It is a very predictable show, and Nathan is the only reason I've continued to watch.

STINKINGROSE

Every time I see Fred he seems to be some kind of con artist or otherwise reprehensible character. Which means he's either actually like that or he just has a LOT of fun with those roles.

So, the minute I see him I automatically suspect him of being the culprit or bad guy.

I was thinking the actress for a little while too, but not long because the motive wasn't there.

Why, I'm shocked --shocked-- that you would besmirch Swindle's good name like that. He's nothing more than an honest businessbot trying to make a living.

I think the smarts in writing went, less into a creative murder for this week, but more into how the story was crafted to reflect the current situation in the Late Night community. This thing played on Conan, Leno, and Letterman. Combining Leno and Letterman for the sake of time.

It was rather ambitious to tackle all of last year's late night drama in one episode and throw in a murder mystery and have a love affair subplot. I wonder if that actress will be reprising her role since Castle gave her the lead in his movie.
