Down the centuries you have slurred the meaning of the words, WE THE PEOPLE...

Okay, we've made lists of good stuff, and opinions vary, but not that extremely. So. Here's a list thread that I expect some strangeness from.

My list:

Army Of Darkness- B AND bizarre IMO. Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun. Hail to the king, baby. Zardoz- Connery in a speedo & a braid? Now I know what the effects of LDS are. Immortal- based on a french graphic novel & directed by the author. Hmmmm... suddenly Zardoz doesn't seem so bizarre after all... Deep Blue Sea- Jaws on steroids.. literally. Man this is a bad movie. I own it. Robocop 3- Hey, it meant well. Poledouris score- that's why it shouldn't be banned, yeah. Black Mask- Jet Li as a superhero? I'm there. Yikes- the gore... Trancers & Trancers II- Tim Thomerson at his best, and if you haven't seen these, you ARE a squid. Timecop- Well, everyone has to own ONE VanDamme movie, right? *crickets* Terminator: Salvation- What a mess. What the hell do I see in this movie? Why do I watch it? Even I don't know. But watch it I do. Ultraviolet- I don't really like this movie, but I can't get rid of it. I think it has subliminals, like the Oaty Bar commercial. They MAKE me keep it.

Okay, so how twisted are you?

OK Chris. I like (usually just once) most of the movies on your list, & own two of them; the Black Mask (made in China [Hong Kong?]) has great English dialogue. But it strikes me that they were all either intended to be camp, or are enjoyable by us now because we can view them as camp. With that in mind, I draw your attention to:

Alien Trespass

If you're old enough to remember when you thought George Pal's War of the Worlds was great, I predict you'll love this one (available via Netflix Streaming)

ps: comparing the DVD cover of Black Mask to the most famous shot in Timecop, it would seem that vanDamme has stronger &/or stretchier hamstrings than Jet Li

I have it! Took many years to acquire, but I got a great DVD copy at a sci-fi con last year. This Ib Melchoir production has many of the sound effects and props used in The Angry Red Planet, also a cameo by Forrest J. Ackermann. Not to ever be confused with the lesser Journey To The Center Of Time, this movie features sci-fi legend Joyn Hoyt and the always wonderful and sexy Merry Anders.

Has anyone else seen The Bed Sitting Room? That's pretty bizarre but I still like it.

It has never been released on any video format in the US, and I went to the trouble of buying a Blu-Ray from amazon.co.uk not realizing my PS3 (and every other blu-ray player I've tried) would not play Region B discs. I do have it on VHS tape recorded off Turner Classic Movies several years ago, but they no longer have the rights to it.

It stars Spike Milligan (co-writer of the play the film is based on), Sir Ralph Richardson, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Michael Hordern, Arthur Lowe, Rita Tushingham, and featured the first film appearance of Marty Feldman. Released in 1969, directed by Richard Lester (A Hard Days Night, Superman 2). It is a comedy set in England a few years after a nuclear war.

I enjoyed it, puppy and all. It was like a synhesis of all the golden age dystopian stories.

I find i really thoroughly enjoy b movies as art. Often the production companies are small, and budgets limited, and the hand of the propaganda machine is nowhere to be found. To me it's art in its purest form: a random group of people winging it.

Speaking of milla, there's a long list of enjoyable fioms there;) i liked resident evil. I haven't seen them all yet, but even through the idiocy the second one was enjoyable. There's a certain cinematic appeal though to the completely underspent film.

Have you seen the Quiet Earth?

You're not alone on Terminator Salvation. I've posted before how much I like the movie, only to see all around me trash it. I generally don't like "chase" movies, and T1-T3 are all basically "chase" movies. Salvation finally got us into the actual war against the machines, and I thought they did a great job of it.

Jane Fonda is naked or partially naked during the whole film. There is no other reason to watch this movie, as the rest of it is quite mind-numbingly boring and stupid. She was one of the most beautiful and sexiest women of the 60's, and most young people loved her for her anti-war efforts.

I'll throw in, tho you all got a lof of em already.

Army of Darkness: of course, Ash is just freakin awesome, maximum camp goin on here.

Trancers: barely makes the list, but novel concept puts it on the table.

Battle Beyond The Stars: epic cheese, and actually inspired me to alter my course in life a bit.

Night of the Comet: Always kinda liked this one, the empty desolation calls to me, in way.

Flash Gordon(1980): Must have, how can you NOT like Ming the Merciless, he was awesome!

I got clocked with a plate for laughing at that once...

Equilibrium: Of course, not only gun-fu, but how can that flick NOT appeal to an Anarchist ?

Alien Resurrection: It's bad, but not that bad really, and Johner SO reminds me of Mikey I had to have it.

Tales from The Hood: It has flavor and is well told, despite being on the short end production-wise.

The Hidden: Not so well known, but actually quite well done.

Big Trouble in Little China: Seriously, no one mentioned THIS one ?

Escape from New York/LA: - Best watched back to back, pissed on beer, Russell rocks it.

Tank Girl: Seriously, nobody else liked this wackiness, cause I SURE as hell did.

They Live: Another flick very appealing to anarchists, and hey, Rowdy Roddy!

The Stuff(1985): Oddly, I've found more entertainment in this flick since the introduction of HFCS.

Crank2 - High Voltage: Being no stranger to crackbrained replacement parts, this amused me greatly, in fact tha jumper cables scene near-killed me laughing, plus it's so ridiculously and deliberately offensive to pretty much EVERYONE you can't help but like it. (Disclaimer: I also have some level of investment with Lionsgate)

Oh, and Blacula(1972): Cause it's just so self-awared stupid it winds up funny.

So there ya go..
