As Walky just pointed out in today's blog ( http://shortpacked.livejournal.com/500708.html), Transformers is 25 years old today. The very first issue of Marvel Comics' Transformers hit newsstands on May 8th, 1984.

(The first appearance of the Transformers was actually this occasionally off-model TV commercial, which preceded the comic, but we don't have a reliable airdate:
