CHRISISALL

Good flick. Loved the western motif. Obviously.

Out of five *****

Review for casual SF fans: Really cool mix of genres. **1/2*
Review for FF fans: REALLY cool mix of genres. ***
Review for those SF fans who've experienced loss in their lives, and can relate to not being afraid of being killed: Craig did an amazing acting job that he probably could have easily phoned in. ****
Review for Liberals: The American Indians were treated well in this flick. ****
Review for Conservatives: Although it was too PC, the killing of the bad guys was cool. **1/2*
Review for Harrison Ford fans: Hey- he wasn't the star! And he wasn't nice! **

My personal review: I liked it as much as Iron Man 2 (same director), and that's pretty much sayin' I own it. ***1/2*

I liked it for the most part. My only real problem was that there were a few loose ends left untied by the end.

Possible sequel requirements of today's movies; I can deal.

Pretty much any movie that takes place back in the day where native people are speaking native languages, Lakota, Appache, whatever, is really fun to watch. Those are the only movies that my dad will watch with me that have subtitles and so I don't get to see subtitle movies very often, he doesn't mind reading those ones because they don't move super fast like movies in Spanish or Mandarin

THESOMNAMBULIST

Yep. I was content with it. It was actually different to what I was expecting. Given Favreau's recent foray into action adventure I was expecting a series of set pieces. Thankfully he didn't do that and took his time instead.

I was also quite taken aback when I found myself despising Harrison Ford's character! So it did enough to allow me to forget that it was Harrison Ford up there on screen :D

One problem I had was the scene with the paddle boat steamer (whatever they're called). It just wasn't clear what that was for the longest while. That would have been a great image, but it was kinda lost with all the rain and the dark. Pity that.

But on the whole enjoyed it

No more running. I aim to misbehave.

I am looking forward to Cowboys and Aliens. Thanks Chrisisall for getting people talking about it. Time to adjust my Netflix Queue.

I myself, LOVED it! But that may be just me. Very watchable, and I will be getting my un-pirated copy as soon as I’m able. I do agree with THESOMNAMBULIST, also watching Mr. Ford show such love for his worthless son was a little irritating. Best thing for that boy woulda been to send him to join with the track crews on 3:10 to Yuma. Maybe he wouldn’t have been such a brat!

My favorite review came from Alan Tudyk's twitter feed:

"cowboys and aliens is okay for a space western but suffers from a painful lack of chinese"

Come on Chris, you, of all people, should know about my razor-sharp wit (ok, it's as dull as a butter knife), but you get my drift.

I appreciate the BDM and all the wonderous nuances Joss cleverly sprinkled throughout. I place it alongside The Matrix in the Sci-Fi Movie Hall of Fame.

P.S. I well up every time I hear Zoe plead for her hubby to come along to seek shelter from the storm.

I place it above The Matrix, and along side of Blade Runner myself.

Oooooo, good choices all. Yeah, they're in my top ten all-time. What makes Serenity unique among classic sci-fi films is that it came from television and the imagination of Joss Whedon.

It has a culture all it's own.

Finally saw it. I liked it a lot.

Sigh! I made me appreciate Serenity even more.

NBC/Universal what are you guys doing about this?
