After so many weeks of a dearth of films to watch in Cinema, what a pleasure to see such an enjoyable film in such a venue again.

If you liked John Wick, RED, and First Blood, you will likely enjoy Nobody. Maybe also a little of Payback (Mel).

And a treat of one coda, just after cast credits.

The soundtrack was also quite enjoyable, right through the end of credits.

Score was mixed at Firefly Studios.

I also really enjoyed the cast.

I mostly just don't understand how I never heard of this until seeing an ad last night on TV. And if you liked the ad, the film is better.

Looks like Nobody was originally scheduled to be released last summer, and had release dates changed 4 times.

I did not give a rating, largely because it is a specific genre, not what everybody wants to see.

Within the genre, I would give it 5 stars out of 5.

By Joe Bob Briggs standards, it would fare less - no boobs.

I could have also included Die Hard in the comparisons.

I read that one of the writers also did John Wick.

America loves a winner!

Obviously I went to go see Godzilla. But I agree that it was nice to go to a actual theater again. Aside from me a few minor inconveniences with the mask wearing, it was pretty damn good.

When I saw Nobody with the old man, and we both REALLY enjoyed it, at one point early on I said something like "oh, is this where it turns into Falling Down?"

My old man never saw that movie. So I said we had to see it when he came by last weekend.

I knew he wasn't going to like it as much as Nobody, but I was surprised at my own reaction to it, watching it now for the first time since I was a kid.

It seemed a lot more dated than I thought it would be. I'm not talking about the cars, or using payphones because cell phones weren't a thing yet. I'm not even talking about the complete abandonment of anything even remotely PC and the fact that there is zero chance that movie could be made today.

It was... boring.

I mean, it still had some great moments in it. The fast food scene was just as funny as I remembered it. But at 2 hours long, it just has so much filler that I would have left on the cutting room floor.

Scrap 90% of the old cop story. It wasn't worth the lulz at the end when he told the police chief to fuck off on live TV. The movie should only be 75-80 minutes.

I had planned to see Those Who Wish Me Dead and Nobody yesterday, but I messed up my schedule and only could see one of them, so Nobody was it again, this time in my favorite local theater - the first week it was showing there.

The cinemas are out of practice, so they have been keeping the house lights up during preview trailers, so you can't see screen. For months, they were not showing any trailers or previews, so it wasn't a problem. I mentioned this, and they said they are doing this intentionally so that patrons can find their assigned seats in enough light. This theater never had assigned seating, hence it being my favorite local cinema.

I enjoyed it again. I had forgotten some of the scenes, and my favorite scene remains the one with the character credited as "old-timer".
The daughter managed to emulate at times Carrie Henn as Newt in Aliens.
I don't think I had mentioned that it compares to an urban Rambo.
The first time, I had caught the beginning and end of the kitty story arc, but had not caught the middle parts.
I had managed to forget some of the wonderful cast - Christopher Lloyd, Michael Ironside, Colin Salmon.

Very satisfying, even the 2nd time around. I should probably buy this one.
I read that the opening scenes for Nobody 2 have been written.

ETA: I was trying to conjure where the setting of the film was. I think one accident happened on "Route 34" - or maybe it was 43. Filming was apparently in Winnipeg and New York. NY Route 34 is apparently mid-state, not near NYC. I didn't see a city name on the Metro busses, just a logo.

I keep forgetting to mention: I was kinda charming how, every time he starts to explain his story, a certain thing keeps happening to his audience.

I think my favorite part had to be the entire bus scene, but especially what he did after he pulled his gun out.

I think the only other time I smiled most of the way through a movie once a specific action took place was about 1/3rd the way through The Hunt.
