Snowpiercer has always been on my list of movies to watch, but I never got around to it before.

I saw this video a few weeks ago and found it fascinating. There are also some other videos made by other creators that showed even more proof that Snowpiercer was a sequel. And many years later this Rhino Stew channel made an AWESOME update video that was 2 hours and 14 minutes long, which is 8 minutes longer than the actual run-time of Snowpiercer.

*Follow-Up Video Here:

Unfortunately, it was only the first part of a 2 part piece that didn't actually get into any similarities between the two, but instead was an deep-dive analysis of the origins of Snowpiercer and its South Korean director Bong Joon Ho, and the fascinating story about how the South Korean director came to make a movie with a mostly American cast based off of a little-known-outside-of-France graphic novel... and how this movie became the all-time highest grossing Science Fiction film to ever come out of South Korea.

The creator of this theory at Rhino Stew made mention that after he made the first video back in 2018, lead actor Chris Evans gave him a shout out about it on Twitter.

I hope I don't have to wait 4 to 5 years for the follow up video.

I mentioned this all to my old man and actually got him to watch Willy Wonka for the first time in his life. He had no sentimental nostalgic attachment to it, so I wasn't surprised when he really didn't enjoy it all that much and it took him 3 separate sittings to finally finish it (we both HATE Musicals), but he wanted to come over and watch Snowpiercer with me (his 2nd time seeing it) and considered watching Willy Wonka required homework after I told him about this theory.

The interesting thing to me is my Dad told me he mentioned this theory to my brother who's seen both movies but didn't know about this theory and he told my Dad that he definitely could see the relationship between the two of them, without any of the specifics pointed out to him.

I'm looking forward to finally watching Snowpiercer and seeing this phenomena for myself.

Has anybody else seen both movies and have any thoughts on this?
