BLUE SUN ROOM FAN FICTION - GENERAL
The next part in It Is Coming. I know I was a little harsh on Jayne in this one, but I feel he deserves it after the events on Ariel. Also, appologies if I don't mean the Cortex in Inara's shuttle.

But suddenly an alarm went off. “Wash! What is it?” Mal demanded. “Its… its the Falnax…” Wash said, after checking the screen. “What about it?” “It… it just dropped out of the sky…” * River looked up. “It’s here.” * Mal glanced over at Wash. “What do you mean it dropped out of the sky?” “Well, Captain, what I mean is that one minute it was flying, the next it wasn’t.” “But ships don’t just FALL out of the sky!” Mal started looking at the screen. “Why did it fall?” “Maybe it was that part we all took outta it,” Jayne said. Everybody turned and looked at him. They had all been thinking it, but no one had wanted to say it. Nobody wanted the blame to fall on them. Nobody wanted to think that they had just killed all those people. “Kaylee!” Mal yelled down the com-link. “Could removing a burn isolator have caused a Falnax to stop working?” Kaylee’s voice came back confused. “Cap’in, all it does is ensure that the secondary thrusters…” “Say it in words Jayne will understand,” Wash called out. “Oh…” There was a pause. “Well then no. Probably not.” Wash looked at Jayne as one would look at a three year old. “Do you know what probably means?”

Simon looked up at River. “It’s here? What’s here?” But River simply kept repeating over and over “It’s here…it’s here….” Simon looked around. “But…there’s nothing here but us, River.” River simply kept chanting quietly. “It’s here…it’s here…”
A noise resonated around Inara’s shuttle. She opened her eyes. It was her moniter. Reaching over, she noticed that there was a new flag on the Cortex. Her eyes widened as she read what it said….
“So why do we think this happened?” Mal was looking around the room. In the kitchen were the only people who could have any clue as to why that ship had crashed. Jayne was only there because he had wandered in by accident. And so far, Wash and Kaylee were stumped. Zoë, who had dealt with one or two Falnax’s before had no idea. “Maybe they ran outta gas,” Jayne said. “You know, the sad thing is that you’re being serious.” Wash took a bite out of the cookie-shaped protein bar in his hand. “You know, these things would be so much better with chocolate chips…” “Can we focus, please!” Mal yelled. “Now I want to know, right now, if anyone has any idea why that ship went down!” He pointed at Jayne. “You don’t get to contribute.” Jayne grumbled and left the room. Suddenly, Inara burst through the door. “There was a news bulletin on the Cortex! It’s been reported everywhere. Ships have been warned to stay away from the outer planets!” “Why? What’s been reported?” Mal demanded. “Ships keep failing. All over the galaxy. And it’s spreading out from the edge.”
