Brenda: I've looked at those back pillows with arms and it comes back to me moving the blasted thing closer to the wall. I will. Just have to get off my duff to do it. |
Brenda: There is help I might be able to get and I will be talking to this person, hopefully on Tuesday. |

6ixStringJack: You could even get yourself one of those back pillows with arms or something similar for your back if you did that, to make it even more comfortable once you're set up. |
6ixStringJack: That needs to be done, otherwise you'd have to find something very sturdy to fit back there that you can sit on, and then find additional padding to cover it so you're not uncomfortable. That's a lot of work and you might not actually end up comfortable with that setup anyhow, where I think you'd enjoy your time in bed sitting up much more if you could get somebody to help you move the entire thing back up against the wall as far as it will go. |
6ixStringJack: Is there any possible way you could get some help from management or a fellow tennant in your building to move the bed back where you need it? |
6ixStringJack: Oh... Okay. Yeah. I don't think you even need padding then. If it's that hard to move even without carpet, I doubt you'd need it even when you got it backed up to the spot you need to put it. I'd still recommend some furniture pads to put at the ends of the frame that would bolt into the headboard to protect the wall, just in case.
|
Brenda: Yeah, I have been figuring out how to get the bed closer to the wall. Like I said it is heavy and moving the box spring and mattress off of it would be awkward. |
Brenda: Sorry, that is my bad. Yes, the bed is together and there is a 13inch space between the wall and the bed. |
6ixStringJack: No... My bad. That can't be what you mean. You have to have a way to get it up against the wall, or you can't safely lean back like you want to with a gap that big. |
6ixStringJack: Do you mean, simply, that the bed was put together and you now have 13" of space from the wall without a way to move it back because the bed won't move? Because if that is the case, you don't need any padding back there to protect the walls. |
6ixStringJack: I'm not understanding the 13" wide thing. Could you explain that in detail a bit so I can visualize what you're telling me? |
Brenda: I am still working on the pads, Just worrying about them getting scrunched down over time and how thick they should be. I did say that space is around 13 inches wide. |
THG: I'm waiting Gilligan |
6ixStringJack: Awesome. So you got pads now or you're still working on it? Sounds like you won't need any brakes. |
Brenda: I don't think so. Now that it is all set up, I can't move it by myself. Too heavy. |
6ixStringJack: You probably don't need the cups. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if the bed were to move a little on you over time, it wouldn't be like you'd be pushing it away quickly where you'd have an accident. You could just get a couple of rubber door stoppers too and put them under two of the wheels and you'll be fine. |
Brenda: I am looking for the padding. Thought I might have found something today in Walmart. Have to have a good think on it though. |
Brenda: Wow! Nope, there is carpeting all through my place except for the in suite storage, bathroom and kitchen. |
6ixStringJack: Let me know how it goes. Should be a pretty easy solution. If you can't find furniture pads that you think will do the job, you can really just wrap the ends up with anything soft and tape the hell out of them and your bedding should hide it if it doesn't look great. |
