Why bother, really....if you are male and over the age of 12 you are probably gonna see this anyway, if not in theaters, then video...

But sure, I can add a notation, if you want....

This was an homage to the eighties, but in a blowing crap up 2013 style... (anyone else gonna be relieved when we make it to 2020-just so we can say "We're in the Twenties and actually define the decade???" No? Just me??...) This one had more car carnage, and air carnage and building carnage than the last five action flicks I've seen and in such a vain-glorious "This is Russia, stop asking questions and blow shit up" way... Really, just turn off your brain and let your Id out to play and don't bother picking it apart... It does no good to think, anyway...
Look at alll the pretty pretty burning shooting things...

Hubby gave it a B-, which I will agree to, even though I just love Bruce...Because the one thing they keep forgetting to bring back in these homage movies is the whimsy.. We get he's old, but where's the gloating "IN YOUR FACE-YIPPEE KAY YAAAYNESS" At times this was less "passing on the torch" and more "having a funeral for our nostalgia" while coating it in red-white-and-blue-ness and and a villian who is just more annoying than anything (you are glad he's dead, but that's about it)... They also didn't leave much of an ending, and you are kinda left with a "That's it???" feeling

This is the time of year the studios dump the duds, if this flick was as good as the 1st one they would have released it in the Summer.

Maybe that should read under the age of 12, at least mentally.

Well, until I can LEGALLY blow shit up, I don't see in harm in mindless explosions every once in a great while....You guys are probably onto their bag of tricks but I don't usually do 'em much any more...

Also, Bruce looks sooo very much like my dad did before he died and dad was such a fan of him, it was hard for me not to go... Felt like crying through the whole damn thing though...

On that note also, Bruce is about half of what he weighed in the old days too, I think he's shrunk...

Saw it last night - easily the worst of the series. Lame plot, lame villain, and a man with virtually no charisma as John McClane Jr.

It wasn't *terrible*.... but I can't recommend it, either. Its okay if you want to watch shit blow up for 90 minutes - but otherwise skip it.

My dad is a definite Die Hard fan, so he was excited about going last week to opening night. He was very disappointed. A friend of mine, also a fan, saw it and she was similarly disappointed.

I was actually surprised it did well at the box office (first weekend anyway). I thought it would bomb like the latest Stallone and Schwarzenegger films. Personally, I'm not interested, and haven't been since the third one.

I knew it wouldn't bomb like Schwarzenegger or Stallone's entries. They're both trying to come back from obscurity (in movie terms). Willis has never gone away in the way they had. And the last Die Hard, which was relatively recent, was a big success.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

What I remember is that I hated the visual style -- the jump cuts & unsteady cam. When a director chooses to change the visual style of an established franchise, there ought to be a point to the decision. the First three Alien movies each had a different visual style, but there was a point to it: each was a different style of movie/story. I might suspect that the director of Die Hard V chose the new visual style as a way to complain that the script dispensed with mystery in the first quarter, but I don't believe he deserves that much credit

I've heard nothing but BAD things about this latest installment.....too bad, it started out so good. Bruce must look for another character or it's off to the Hollywood retirement home.
