Quote:Originally posted by ecgordon: As for Ep. III, the fact that we see his transformation to Vader, and see that Padme's twins are named Luke and Leia, it totally negates any suspense those revelations impart to Eps V and VI. Revenge of the Sith should have ended with us thinking Annakin had died at the lava pits, and there should have been no mention of the birth of the twins. Future generations could then experience the story from the first and get the full dramatic impact.

Difference is, even Phantom Menace is better than Highlander 2...in fact, only Battlefield Earth is worse than that. There can be only ONE Chrisisall

Quote:Originally posted by embers: I'm sorry ChrisIsAll, I have to hate Star Wars I-III because it sucked the life out of the earlier movies I loved, ruining their stories by attaching this pedantic, and mainly pointless, prequel. Pointless because there is little or nothing we are told in the prequel that we had been told in a more interesting and exciting way in episodes IV-VI (in my opinion).

I don't know why but it's as if the prequels just sucked the talent out of people. yeah the actors are getting blamed for bad writing and worse direction: there isn't a cast in the world who could over come the problem of being stood up in a line and made to proclaim a lot of obvious statements in important voices. In the episodes IV-VI Lucas had help with dialoge & characterization from Lawrence Kasden, one of the greatest dialoge writers ever.
