I do hope people watched this tonight, cause this is truly something not to be missed. I probably haven't been this excited about a show since I started watching Joss's stuff. The writing, acting, everything is amazingly well done. Do give this a look if you get a chance.

Sat riveted and loving it!
Best thing since Joss.

I'm in tv heaven this year...
Pushing Daisies
Heroes, Bionic Woman, Chuck( I love that show too!)
Life
Journeyman is tempting me even...gotta jazz it up a bit though.

Does this mean that the tv environment is changing back to interesting again?? Would Joss consider a return to tv with the "mainstreaming" of so many genre shows?

*crosses fingers and enjoys the good that's here now!*

It's Bryan Fuller, who's worked on Heroes, Wonderfalls, and Dead Like Me. This show reminds me of the feel of Wonderfalls, mixed a bit with the movie Big Fish. Plus, it has the guy who played Jaye Tyler's brother in Wonderfalls.
Very fun show. I'm in.

It's amazing. Is it just me is t.v. actually getting better this season (Heroes, Chuck, Life...). I really hope that people watch this, because I would hate to be heartbroken about intelligent t.v. going off the air.

All hail to Joss and his impact on tv!!!!

I love my captain.

Watched it and liked it. I'm glad to see Lee Pace ( Wonderfalls ) back on the screen, though I do miss his old show. ( Thank the maker for the DVD ) *sigh*

The concept is ever aggrivating, though. The dude can 't even as much as TOUCH his life long crush. This " Chuck " is adorable, btw.

This is like Monk on steroids! There's got to be a way they can rid him of this curse/ gift. Maybe they can hook up during a full solar eclips? That'd be worth flying around the world for!!!

Also, how cool is it that Ellen Green (Audrey - Little Shop of Horrors ) is one of the sisters ?

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Saw it last night. CTV shows it a day earlier on Tuesdays. I was a little on the fence with this show, but after last night I'm in love with the show. And even though Bryan Fuller is in charge, I would like to point out that the pilot was directed by none other than Barry Sonnenfeld. And it does seem very much like a Barry Sonnenfeld movie (the gorgeous and somewhat cartoony visuals, the deadpan rat-a-tat dialogue, and the pervasive black humor).

It's weird. I think Barry should actually stick with only directing TV pilots, because his pilots (PUSHING DAISIES, THE TICK, NOTES FROM THE UNDERBELLY) are far more funny and entertaining than the movies he's made since MEN IN BLACK ten years ago. BIG TROUBLE and MIB2 were big let-downs. WILD WILD WEST is without a doubt the most awful movie ever made (it's my litmus test for rating bad movies). And RV was kind of funny, but not really.

And yeah, this years TV season is big for me as well. I'm watching DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (it's one of two guilty pleasures I have), CHUCK, HEROES, JOURNEYMAN, K-VILLE, BEAUTY AND THE GEEK (the other one), REAPER, PUSHING DAISIES, KID NATION, BIONIC WOMAN, DIRTY SEXY MONEY (I'll watch Peter Krause in anything), LIFE, MY NAME IS EARL, 30 ROCK, SCRUBS, THE OFFICE, SURVIVOR, ER and a bunch of other cable shows I need to get caught up on.

I DVR'd it. I'm watching it now. I'm 15 minutes into the show, and I'm already in love.

This does not bode well.

Also, does Pushing Daisies remind anyone else of Amelie? (The narration, the coloring, the camera movement?)

ETS: Finished it! My god, could Ned and Chuck be any more adorable? That little hand-holding thing was so sweet! Yay for this new show!

Yeah, I have to admit that it does. I was thinking more of Dr. Seuss mets Dead Like Me. But I was really reminded of that Robot Chicken sketch "Screw Youssical The Musical" without the sex.

Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Actually it had a pretty impressive rating debut with 8.3 million viewers and a 14 share, so you can rest easy that PUSHING DAISIES won't be axed anytime soon.

STOWEAWAY

I watched it not sure what to expect. I don't usually enjoy the Dr. Seuss mixed with dark humor type shows.
But I really enjoyed it. The supporting cast made it worth a shot.
I love Kristen Chenoweth. And I can't say I've ever seen Chi McBride playing comedy. Certainly not in The Nine or Boston Public (the only two shows of his I've seen). He's actually quite funny.
I really like Chuck's character -- she's a pistol. I'll keep watching it. Heck, there's nothing else in that time slot I'd rather see.
I guess that's not a glowing, gushing review but they've made a viewer out of me.

Same love for Kristen Chenowith here. For some reason, I'm drawn to small women with cartoon-like voices and fast comedic timing. Same reason one of my favorite characters on THE OFFICE is Kelly. She's a complete oxymoron, and yet it works.

Wasn't that Christina Hendricks (YoSafBridge) playing the part of the woman who was going to marry his Dad? I didn't get a chance to see the credits.

But, yes, I really like the show.

Yup, you're correct. It was Life. But I watched Pushing Daisies also and loved it. Seems that there might be some good TV to watch this fall and considering none of it is on F*X it might just have a chance.

"Life" surprised me. I hadn't intended to watch it, but it was on right after "Bionic Woman" (which has disappointed me so far). I was hooked on "Life" after the first five minutes and wish I had recorded it. Damien Lewis is remarkable.

I just watched it for the 3rd time and I'm hooked (and a little bit in love with Ned/Lee Pace).

And I'm now greatly cheered by the strong ratings. It'll be interesting to see though, if the numbers stay high since even the critics who have been talking about it for months have had the caveat that the shows success will depend on if the premise can last for more than a few episodes.

ETA: ABC's promos say 27 million people have watched the premiere - does anyone know if this is including the online/advance viewings? I'm thinking it must, cause the Wednesday ratings were around 12 million(!!!) And that's quite a jump (even for a network prone to exaggeration )

Maybe they are counting the number of viewers for the two different showings of the Pie-lette, Wednesday and tonight. That still doesn't seem right, since if 13 million watched it Wed. that would mean 14 mil watched tonight, and Fridays are not known for those type of numbers.

It surprisingly did well in ratings which I didn't think it was going to because of how quirky it was. I guess a lot of old ladies were expecting Dancing with the Stars to come on and just left their TVs running. I'm glad it's doing so well so far, lets hope it keeps the ratings up because it is awesomely eccentric.

Did anyone else want the golden monkeys to start talking like on Wonderfalls? In my mind I heard them going "kiss the girl" or "boy needs a pie" lol. I love Bryan Fuller's work, the show is great!

Keep shiny!

I also really loved this show, right from the beginning the filming style (the colors seem to glow, telling the viewers they have entered another world), the writing, the acting, and the really kooky casting (don't you LOVE the Aunts?) just blew me away....

I am so thrilled that everyone is turning away from all reality programming all the time and returning to scripted television. Particularly when the scripted stories are so completely imaginative and off-beat!

Hey now, I posted that exact info above, under the big photo of 'Chuck'.

* Also, how cool is it that Ellen Green (Audrey - Little Shop of Horrors ) is one of the sisters ? *

And by 'sisters', I of course meant to each other, making them both Chuck's aunts. It's cool to see her again. I knew that voice right away, and it's been YEARS since I saw LSoH. What a cool flick that was. *sigh* Kinda reminds me of this show....with out the singing. Or the giant talking plant.

I loved Ellen's face when she was touched and did not want to be. It was perfect. Not overacted.

*sigh* I love Ellen Greene... So good to see her again! She still looks marvelous. When Mr. Grizwald spotted her he grinned, but when she first spoke he burst out laughing and said, "She's still doing the Voice!"
