We just won't know how big a flop Avatar will be until we know how short of the 2 Billion it needs to break even it falls. AOC's movie "To The End" was released the same weekend Avatar 2 was released and only got $80 per theater for a total of $15,801.

Quote:Originally posted by 6IXSTRINGJACK: Trump will be fine.
Quote:A preliminary review of the thousands of pages of Donald Trump’s tax returns released by a key congressional committee on Friday confirms that the former president was using business losses in the tens of millions of dollars to reduce his annual tax liability, in some cases all the way down to zero. While one of Trump’s main businesses was found guilty of criminal tax fraud earlier this month, Trump himself has so far not been accused of doing anything illegal with his taxes and personal accounting. But that’s raising more urgent questions about the fairness of the U.S. tax code and tax regulations, which number in the millions of words and in the case of Trump proved effectively unenforceable.
Quote:The committee report recommends ways to fix the structural failures at the IRS, going forward. That seems valuable. And that strikes me as a sufficient reason to obtain and examine Trump’s returns. For instance, the committee could not know how difficult it might be for the IRS to audit Trump’s returns if it did not know how complex they were, in the first place. But publication of his returns is different. How does publication advance the otherwise valuable findings of the committee? Couldn’t the committee highlight the IRS’ failures in a report and keep Trump’s returns private? I believe so. Stated another way, what is the connection between the valid concerns raised by the committee — the deficiencies in the mandatory audit program they identified at the IRS — and the committee’s decision to make public Trump’s returns? None, that I see. I am not, to put it mildly, a Trump fan so my next words may seem odd, but here goes: The committee’s decision to publish the returns was unfair to Trump. So why do I worry about being unfair to Trump? Because principles of fairness should matter to all of us, all the time, and apply to all of us, all the time, even if they do not matter to Trump. Trump strikes me as a bad person. In many ways, he is not very different than many of the people I encountered as a federal prosecutor. He is greedy, dishonest, self-centered, narcissistic and reckless. But all the people we prosecuted deserved to be treated fairly for legal, ethical and moral reasons, and they deserved to be treated fairly all the time, whether or not we liked them. We cannot reserve fair treatment for people we like and unfair treatment for people we dislike. That would be a death spiral for our judicial system and for our democracy.
Quote:At the start of my career, I helped draft tax rules for Congress. For 20 years, I advised wealthy business owners and big corporations on how to apply tax rules and defend challenges from the IRS. The tax rules are not black and white; they are gray, with lots of room for argument. And plenty of opportunity to stretch the rules beyond their intent. That’s where Trump plays.

There's zero chance this flick is making $200 Million worldwide before it's out of theaters.

Quote:Originally posted by K2PO: - The war won't end this year. - Russia peaked last summer in terms of its strength in this war relative to Ukraine. Despite their mobilisations they will fight more defensively than offensively this year. They will lose more territory than they gain, but Ukrainian victories won't be as stunning as last year as Russia has more manpower and a shorter front line to defend. Bakhmut will hold. More mobilisations and replacements of top Russian generals wouldn't surprise me - this year, or next.

Quote:Originally posted by THG: Why, why Jack do you continue to post shit that shows you to be an idiot. Let’s examine my countdown threads that you say go back 6 years, and were all wrong, Ok? My countdown until Trump is impeached thread. Well, he was not only impeached, he was impeached twice. All the while you said it would not happen. A hundred times Jack you said it wouldn’t happen. That makes me right, you wrong. My countdown until Trump goes to jail thread. Well, he has been indicted twice now. He has with both indictments maybe 67 felony charges? Now because I know there are more indictments coming, I created a new thread explaining he has been indicted and what's to come. When he loses in court both threads will be updated to show he is going to jail. You said he will not even be indicted. You said over that same six-year period, about a hundred times he would not be indicted. Well, he was. Twice so far. That makes me right, you wrong. I’ve stated he has at least two more indictments coming. I’ve decided to do a countdown to those indictments within the existing thread. How, by reminding readers they are still coming. I’ll remind you again, you’ve been wrong about it all. About it all Jack. Now, some of what should have happened in the last six years that I didn’t foresee, was due to my not being able to anticipate the Republican Party completely imploding. Not only voting to ignore Trumps guilt as obvious as it was, but supporting him while selling out America. The reason, they are shitting themselves worrying about Trump having them primaried. Not to worry though, historians are already showing, by what they are saying about all this currently, I am right Jack, you are wrong. During those six years Jack, while I was making accurate predictions, you were posting conspiracy theories. None of which came to fruition. All the false charges against Biden and his family for corruption to name one, another, the Durham report. 5 years and 6 million dollars later, nothing, he got destroyed, picked apart in the hearing as he desperately tried to imply, with no evidence, somebody, who, he doesn’t know, did something wrong. When asked what they did, he was forced to say he doesn’t know that either. Very fucked up.

Some Beyond more spider-Man the Spider-Verse thing, the Penguin, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, Blade, nu Superman, new Transformers, nu Avatar, Daredevil Born Again but I think this is 'tv', Deadpool 3, The new Avengers Kang Dynasty, new Captain America beyond Brave New World perhaps could face delays. Expect Box Office Money then expect flops some time ahead once again

His first bet was a promo deal on the betting app DraftKings on last year’s Super Bowl: bet $5 on the eventual champion, win $300. Thanks to a last-gasp touchdown by the Los Angeles Rams, Dylan won. He then quadrupled his winnings playing online blackjack. He was hooked. Dylan’s bets quickly became riskier. He maxed out four credit cards to place bets of up to $5,000 on everything from obscure tennis fixtures in China to Venezuelan women’s volleyball matches, using apps including FanDuel and Barstool Sportsbook.
Quote:Despite the harm they could be unleashing, state authorities are often conflicted because of the tax revenues generated from sports betting, which have contributed more than $3.4bn cumulatively to often-stretched budgets since 2018.
