Quote: At 12.30 PM, Kalibr high-precision long-distance sea-based missiles were launched at a command post of the Ukrainian troops near the village of Shirokaya Dacha (Dnepropetrovsk region). At that moment a working meeting of the commanders of the Aleksandriya operational-strategic group was in progress. More than 50 generals and officers of the AFU was eliminated. This included the General Staff of the Kakhovka group, airborne assault troops and units that operate towards Nikolayev and Zaporozhye. ALSO At 08.20 AM, Kalibr high-precision long-distance missiles destroyed 10 M777 155-mm howitzers and up to 20 armoured combat vehicles delivered by the West to the Kiev regime over the past 10 days that were located in a transformer plant in Nikolayev.

Howevever, I have often cautioned ppl to put their "shit-filters" (that exact phrase) in place before they go swimming in ZH. As usual, you chose to misrepresent my posting history. >>> You agree with me that ZH is the most popular quoted source by you "Because it is CONVENIENT." And then you say I "misrepresent my posting history." You twist yourself up in knots.
Quote: ZIGGY: It's 90pct garbage, and I ignore most of it. It is, however, convenient, if you don't mind filtering out the bull. The only problem is, you BELIEVE the shit that CNN dumps out. >>> Except I don't. As I've said so many times, if I want to know if a physical event, like a school shooting has occurred, then cnn is almost unparalleled as a source. Otherwise they can't be totally trusted on their own. They're not bad though - not anywhere as bad as you say your main source ZH is, "It's 90pct garbage, and I ignore most of it."
Quote: ZIGGY: AFA other sources - Military Summary - ("Unwatchable") Why? Because they talk about military action in Ukraine, with maps and everything? Or because they don't echo your preferrred "narrative"? Too factual, perhaps, for your taste? >>> More coffee shop intellectuals fawning and straining to sound intelligent & desperate to feel relevant. I've been to college, I know these people.
Quote: ZIGGY: Oh, you mean EXACTLY like CNN, MSNBC, WaPo etc? Seriously, CAPON, if you filter out "anonymous oficials" from your preferred soures, there would be nothing left! >>> The whoever or whatever the fck the Duran is needs to establish credibility before they can say, "I heard somebody somewhere say something about somebody."
Quote: CAPON: NYTimes etc have establish a looong track record.
Quote: ZIGGY: OMFG! TOO FUNNY!!! Weren't you JUST defending the M$M's bullshit-amplification-without-verification as "reporting"? CAPON: OMFG! TOO WRONG!!! No, scroll up and re-read.

American sanctions against Russia have turned out to be far more devastating to Europe than to Russia. The global economy has slowed and many developing nations face serious food shortages and risk of broad starvation. There are already deep cracks in the European façade of so-called “NATO unity.” Western Europe will increasingly rue the day that it blindly followed the American Pied Piper to war against Russia. Indeed, this is not a Ukrainian-Russian war but an American-Russian war fought by proxy to the last Ukrainian. Contrary to optimistic declarations, NATO may in fact ultimately emerge weakened. Western Europeans will think long and hard about the wisdom and deep costs of provoking deeper long term confrontations with Russia or other “competitors”of the US. Europe will sooner or later return to the purchase of inexpensive Russian energy. Russia lies on the doorstep and a natural economic relationship with Russia will possess overwhelming logic in the end. Europe already perceives the US as a declining power with an erratic and hypocritical foreign policy “vision” premised upon the desperate need to preserve “American leadership” in the world. America’s willingness to go to war to this end is increasingly dangerous to others.

Quote:The UK will ‘physically cease to exist’ if the latest stand-off in Lithuania triggers a nuclear World War Three, a retired Russian general claimed. Speaking on Russian state TV this week, lieutenant general Evgeny Buzhinsky said the West is playing with fire in blockading the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, in order to prevent sanctioned goods from reaching the territory via Nato state Lithuania. The military expert also lashed out at British general Sir Patrick Sanders, who took command of Britain’s land forces this week and announced his arrival with a chilling message saying troops should be prepared to fight Russia and defend Europe. ‘He doesn’t understand that as a result of the Third World War Britain will physically cease to exist,’ said Lieutenant Buzhinsky. ‘The island will vanish, so I’ve no idea where he or his descendants will live.’ In a chest-beating message sent to troops on his fourth day in charge of the armed forces, General Sanders said: ‘I am the first chief of the general staff since 1941 to take command of the Army in the shadow of a land war in Europe involving a continental power… ‘The scale of the enduring threat from Russia shows we’ve entered a new era of insecurity. ‘It is my singular duty to make our Army as lethal and effective as it can be. The time is now and the opportunity is ours to seize.’ In response, Lieutenant general Buzhinsky claimed alongside the war in Ukraine the situation in Kaliningrad was ‘deeply serious’, and urged president Vladimir Putin to move nuclear weapons to the exclave in order to protect Russian interests. Formerly the Prussian outpost of Königsberg, the city of Kaliningrad is Russia’s most westerly territory and has been a key strategic outpost since the end of World War Two. It is wedged in between Lithuania and Poland, and acts as the headquarters of the Kremlin’s Baltic Fleet. ‘This is a long game to push us out from the Baltic Sea, an attempt to block and cut Kaliningrad off, and finally to take it away from us,’ he claimed. Lieutenant general Buzhinsky, who served in senior positions in the Russian defence ministry, said the West intended to ‘block Kaliningrad economically, completely, until our people howl from destitution’. He added Putin should nullify the Soviet recognition of Lithuania’s independence, switch off its energy and take control of its borders. ‘And then finally we must take military measures,’ he concluded. ‘We’ve got to do something. We’ve got to strengthen our military presence at the border with Lithuania as we did in December last year, and January this year at the border with Ukraine.’ Elsewhere in the interview Lieutenant general Buzhinsky confirmed Russia was now effectively at war with Nato, adding any attempts to impede on Russia’s sovereign territory could make the situation in Ukraine look like ‘a joke’. Elsewhere this week, Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned all trust has now evaporated between the West and Moscow. ‘Relations between Russia and the West will not be back to the previous level, because Moscow will never again trust such “partners”,’ he told US TV channel MSNBC. ‘It will be a lengthy crisis, but we will never trust the West again.’ Between 2002 and 2009, Lieutenant general Buzhinsky, 72, was head of the International Treaty Directorate and deputy head of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation at the Russian Ministry of Defence.

There is no longer any need to read between the lines when Putin compares himself with Peter the Great. Putin’s justification: “In order to claim some kind of leadership – I am not even talking about global leadership, I mean leadership in any area – any country, any people, any ethnic group should ensure their sovereignty. Because there is no in-between, no intermediate state: either a country is sovereign, or it is a colony, no matter what the colonies are called.” The implication is clear: there are two categories of state. The sovereign and the conquered. In Putin’s view, Ukraine falls into the latter category. From Russian official statements in the last months, Finland, the Baltic states and Europe itself fall into the latter category.
