It's funny when there's finally a worker protest that means something, a so-called Progressive like you doesn't back it.

You are such a piece of shit.

During the Civil War, Lincoln was the tyrant who was oppressing the Confederates' civil right to own slaves, when the peaceful Confederates only wanted to be allowed free movement of slaves into states that forbid slavery. Like mules and horses, slaves were absolutely necessary for agriculture. White workers were protesting being forced by Lincoln to do the work that only slaves and mules can do. When John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln, he shouted, “Sic semper tyrannis! (Ever thus to tyrants!) The South is avenged.”

You certainly are a one-trick pony, aren't you boy?

We're tuning that static out from now on. We've spent far too many years hearing about it and The People are finally done listening to it.

I had decades of experience with construction workers who would tell me they were smarter than me, guys who would come into work hungover, leave shoddy workmanship, and expect to be praised and highly paid. When they got fired, they said only the worst would work for me, but firing them left me with room and money for people better than them. I finished the jobs on time, under budget, and without these worthless jackasses, including truck drivers, who falsely believed they were skilled and indispensable.

Why don't you tell us again how workers around the world should rise up and kill their bosses and steal everything they own.

Meanwhile, we all know that you don't run a business or have any money, so save it, boy.

Now that I think about it, and going by what I know happened to some of the people I fired (a lot of them vanished from the workforce, kind of like 6ix) there is a huge psychological chasm between how competent they imagine they are on the job versus how competent they truly are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and martial strife caused by adultery. Jumping across that chasm tends to be fatal, killing them decades before they reach the average life span of 78.79 years for males. They are the guys who refuse to be vaccinated because, you know, they have rights.

I bet you don't live to be at least 78.79 years because you act politically, socially, medically exactly like the jackasses I know who died early. Even Donald Trump, born June 14, 1946, might not make it to 78.79, despite the free healthcare available to ex-Presidents, since he acted idiotically about covid-19 and every other health problem he has had, other than losing his long, luxurious hair.

If a civil war breaks out in the United States, Representative Adam Kinzinger believes it won't be reminiscent of the 19th century Civil War because it'll take the form of "targeted assassinations" and not state against state.

Once an unthinkable theory, growing political divisions have fueled speculation that a civil war could be looming. While some see it as inevitable, others have pushed for people to resist the possibility, and Kinzinger told The View on February 10 that it's not "too far of a bridge" to believe another civil war could happen in the United States.

However, if it does occur, he warned that it wouldn't take the same shape as it did in 1861. Instead of the traditional form of war the Civil War took, where it was "blue against gray," this time around, it would be "armed groups against armed groups," according to Kinzinger.

"Targeted assassinations, violence–that's what a 21st and 20th century civil war is," Kinzinger said. "We're identifying now by our race, by our ethnic group, we're separating ourselves and we live in different realities."

Kinzinger, a vocal critic of the GOP's loyalty to former President Donald Trump, was censured by the GOP alongside his colleague Representative Liz Cheney. During his interview on The View, he criticized the GOP for being a "once great party" that no longer stands for principles. Instead, he said the GOP stands for "loyalty to one man" and that it makes him "sad."

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has advocated for Republican states to break off from Democratic states and Civil War experts believe there are "indicators" the United States could see another conflict.

Timothy Snyder, a history professor at Yale University, told Business Insider America "doesn't look good right now." He pointed to the high degree of polarization, people believing in alternate realities and the praise of violence.

During an interview with CNN, Kinzinger cited Trump as one of the leading factors in whether America sees another civil war. If Trump and his allies convince enough people that the election was stolen from the former president, it's not a "far off thought" that a militia and counter militia clash, sparking a civil war.

"I never would say that we would ever have ended in that position, but I now believe it is a real possibility that we have to be wide-eyed as we walk into so we don't have that happen again," Kinzinger told CNN.

Although Kinzinger believes civil war could be on the horizon, he urged people to fight hard "against it" and put the country over political parties. He acknowledged that he used to resist talking about civil war but said it's necessary to issue warnings and discuss the possibility so that the potential for it is "recognized" and we can alter course.

Those signs in restaurant toilets that read All Employees Must Wash Hands Before Returning To Work are signs of tyranny. The CDC Gestapo's public health measures are abridging your Constitutional Rights to be unclean just as Lincoln abridged the Civil Right to own slaves. Rebel against the government! Show them you are free by not washing your hands. Sovereign Citizens don't pay taxes, either, so don't pay, too.

Sovereign citizens believe that they – not judges, juries, law enforcement or elected officials – should decide which laws to obey and which to ignore. Most sovereign citizens also don’t believe they should have to pay taxes.

I'm pretty sure you didn't get to this paragraph, where authors are concerned about other nations not getting vaccines because Americans who didn't need vaccination got shots:

Mandating boosters for people who have been infected with the coronavirus means that unnecessary vaccine doses may be given to many tens of millions of Americans. (All told, there have been more than 77 million covid-19 cases in the United States.) These are wasted doses that could otherwise go to people who really need them, including outside U.S. borders. At least 70 countries continue to have vaccine coverage rates below 40 percent — increasing the likelihood of serious illness in those nations and the emergence of more variants globally.

I did. That's their back-door.

The Twitter Mob is no doubt crying a lot of tears right now, and WaPo needs to put something in there to show that they haven't truly turned.

They've gone from full-blown propagandists to cowardly fence sitters.

The only reason that article was posted is because the Freedom Convoy and its ripple effect across the world is threatening to make WaPo owner Jeff Bezos a lesser billionaire right behind Mark Zuckerburg.

Democrat politicians across the country are removing mandates. Provinces all over Canada are doing the same. Even members of Justin Trudeau's party are turning on him.

The narrative is crumbling.

But this is too little, too late.

We won't forget.

Democrats are finished. The Legacy Media is finished.

Say what you will about Trump’s justices, but before they got on the Supreme Court, they were quite open about just how eager they are to abolish foundational principles of American law.

Justice Neil Gorsuch reportedly got his current job because Trump’s advisers admired his plans to gut federal agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Labor. Justice Brett Kavanaugh was also a scourge of the EPA, who went out of his way to criticize Roe v. Wade months before his Supreme Court nomination. Justice Amy Coney Barrett was an outspoken opponent of abortion and same-sex marriage. She also called for an expansive interpretation of the Second Amendment, and criticized two Supreme Court decisions that largely rejected efforts to sabotage Obamacare.

Biden’s top candidates aren’t just very different people ideologically, they are temperamentally nothing like Trump’s evangelists for movement conservatism. If you want to discover their views on abortion, guns, or affirmative action — to take three issues that are currently pending before the Supreme Court — you’d be hard-pressed to find much in their judicial opinions or their public speeches.

So why are Biden’s possible nominees so cautious, while Trump’s were so open about just how eager they are to burn things to the ground?

With a Republican supermajority on the Supreme Court, liberal judges have little incentive to write bold opinions. It’s not like this Court is going to embrace such an opinion.

Republican presidents can nominate the most strident Republican partisans and the most outspoken conservative ideologues, and still expect those nominees to be confirmed.

Democratic presidents, meanwhile, risk having their nominees blocked, Merrick Garland-style, even when the president enjoys majority support from the nation as a whole. And even when Democrats do control the Senate, their majority frequently depends on conservative Democrats like Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), each of whom could potentially veto a nominee they deem too liberal.

This structural imbalance, more than anything, explains why Republicans get to appoint their fantasy nominees to the Supreme Court, while Biden’s potential nominees range from dully moderate liberals to humdrum centrists.

You seem to be unable to understand the ratchet effect, where it is far easier to move something in one direction than the other. Once Republicans pass laws that make it harder to fund projects, Democrats have to remove those laws, which may be very popular, in order to get projects done. In the example you cited http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=64855 Republicans passed a Constitutional amendment in California that makes it impossible to pass single payer health care until after the Constitution is revised, but every comment you make shows you haven't understood that. You keep pretending Democrats can undo what Republicans did as easily as Republicans amending the California Constitution.

Republicans have been throwing bombs at the IRS for decades, driving away its employees. Rebuilding what Republicans destroy takes years. Demolishing an organization is fast compared to rebuilding. Conservatives want to gut the IRS of the resources to audit rich people—and they have. I assume this needs no explanation.

Conservatives have been hellbent on gutting the IRS for 25 years

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p55b.pdf

It started in 1995 when Newt Gingrich took control of the House. Within four years he had slashed 14,000 employees from the IRS.

Gingrich was on his way out after four years, but in 1998 Sen. William Roth kept the flame alive by holding a week of hearings in which witnesses were hidden by black curtains and had their voices altered. Everyone was searched before entering the room. Republicans lined up to denounce the IRS as “Gestapo-like” and a law was quickly passed that handcuffed agents and slashed the budget for audits and enforcement, especially against high-income taxpayers.

In 2001 George Bush became president and Republicans were once again free to do as they wished with the IRS. Over the next six years they cut another 5,000 employees, stopping only when they lost control of the House to Nancy Pelosi and control of the presidency to Barack Obama.

In 2011 Republicans took control of the House and slashed another 20,000 employees by bargaining with Obama over things he cared more about.

In 2019 Democrats took control of the House and the hemorrhaging stopped.

We asked all 143 Texas GOP congressional candidates about Biden's win. Only 13 call it legitimate.

The debate had been underway for less than 10 minutes before the top Republican candidates in a MAGA-friendly Houston congressional district reached a consensus: each believed the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.

“We’ve seen across the board, the Democrats have always cheated,” said Jonathan Hullihan, a former judge advocate general in the Navy and one of 11 Republicans running in the 8th Congressional District. “81 million votes for Joe Biden? I just don’t believe it.”

The two other candidates onstage — political operative Christian Collins and former Navy SEAL Morgan Luttrell — joined Hullihan in calling for a forensic audit of the election. Both have said they would have voted not to certify the 2020 results from Arizona and Pennsylvania, the two states targeted unsuccessfully by Republicans in Congress.

In Texas’ reddest congressional districts, it has become a rite of passage for Republican candidates to echo Trump’s baseless claims that Democrats rigged or stole the election for President Joe Biden. Even outside the conservative strongholds, GOP candidates across the state are calling for large-scale audits or otherwise casting doubt on the outcome of the election as they battle for votes.

Candidates in nearly every competitive race across the state have raised questions about the validity of the 2020 election or said outright that it was stolen, despite widespread evidence to the contrary and the overwhelming failure of Trump and his allies to overturn the results in court.

Hearst Newspapers sent questions about the election and searched campaign websites and social media pages of all of the 143 Republicans running for Congress in Texas. Of the 86 with discernible stances, at least 42 have said outright that the 2020 election was stolen, called the results illegitimate or said they would have voted not to certify. Another 11 candidates have said there was enough fraud or irregularities to cast doubt on the results of the election.

Just 13 said the results were legitimate.

The issue has emerged as a key litmus test for measuring a candidate’s fealty to Trump, who has continued to claim the election was stolen from him as he decides how to dole out potentially make-or-break endorsements to candidates up and down ballots across the country.

“Every candidate is having to navigate these waters as best they can in terms of what they believe, what they feel like they can say publicly, and then the cost-benefit analysis of doing it,” said Brendan Steinhauser, a Republican strategist. “It’s definitely a front-and-center issue.”

Authoritarianism Is Historically Normal

Conservative columnist David Brooks on democracy in peril:

The postwar generation was a bit like the founding generation. Its leaders — from Truman to George F. Kennan to Reinhold Niebuhr — championed democracy, but they had no illusions about the depravity of human beings. They’d read their history and understood that stretching back thousands of years, war, authoritarianism, exploitation, great powers crushing little ones — these were just the natural state of human societies.

If America was to be secure, Americans would have to plant the seeds of democracy, but also do all the work of cultivation so those seeds could flourish. Americans oversaw the creation of peaceful democracies from the ruins of military dictatorships in Germany and Japan. They funded the Marshall Plan. They helped build multinational institutions like NATO, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund. American military might stood ready to push back against the wolves who threatened the world order — sometimes effectively, as in Europe, but oftentimes, as in Vietnam and Iraq, recklessly and self-destructively. America championed democracy and human rights, at least when the Communists were violating them (not so much when our dictator allies across, say, Latin America were).

Just as America’s founders understood that democracy is not natural, the postwar generation understood that peace is not natural — it has to be tended and cultivated from the frailties of human passion and greed.

Over the past few generations that hopeful but sober view of human nature has faded. What’s been called the Culture of Narcissism took hold, with the view that human beings should be unshackled from restraint. You can trust yourself to be unselfish! Democracy and world peace were taken for granted. As Robert Kagan put it in his book “The Jungle Grows Back”: “We have lived so long inside the bubble of the liberal order that we can imagine no other kind of world. We think it is natural and normal, even inevitable.”

If people are naturally good, we no longer have to do the hard agricultural work of cultivating virtuous citizens or fighting against human frailty. The Western advisers I covered in Russia in the early 1990s thought a lot about privatization and market reforms and very little about how to prevent greedy monsters from stealing the whole country. They had a naïve view of human nature.

Even in America, over the past decades, the institutions that earlier generations thought were essential to molding a democratic citizenry have withered or malfunctioned. Many churches and media outlets have gone partisan. Civics education has receded. Neighborhood organizations have shrunk. Patriotic rituals are out of fashion.

What happens when you don’t tend the seedbeds of democracy? Chaos? War? No, you return to normal. The 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centuries were normal. Big countries like China, Russia and Turkey are ruled by fierce leaders with massive power. That’s normal. Small aristocracies in many nations hog gigantic shares of their nations’ wealth. That’s normal. Many people come to despise cultural outsiders, like immigrants. Normal. Global affairs resembles the law of the jungle, with big countries threatening small ones. This is the way it’s been for most of human history.

In normal times, people crave order and leaders like Vladimir Putin arise to give it to them.

A tweet from Christian Evangelical leader Franklin Graham, calling for his followers to "Pray for President Putin today," and not the people of Ukraine who are living in fear they will be invaded by Russia has set off a wave of criticism on Twitter.

According to Graham, who is a notable supporter of former president Donald Trump who has his own cozy relationship with the former KGB head, "This may sound like a strange request, but we need to pray that God would work in his heart so that war could be avoided at all cost. May God give wisdom to the leaders involved in these talks & negotiations, as well as those advising them."

Commenters were quick to point out he didn't ask for prayers for President Joe Biden by name as the United States attempts to intervene and stop what could be a devastating war in the region.

As one commenter pointed out, "Putin literally blew up a passenger airliner and mercilessly murdered 298 people."

Another added, "A fine day to grovel to your overlord$ eh? Get off your knees, charlatan."

Looks like your Masters might finally be getting that war with Russia they've been dying to get into since 2016 and got derailed for 5 years after Trump was elected.

I won't be fighting in it, and I wont' be funding it.

Referring to Vladimir Putin, “No lows too low, no lies too blatant, no red lines too red to cross,” Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said in summing up the political disgust felt from Europe to North America and democracies hugging Russia’s borders in Asia, such as Japan and South Korea.

Lithuania was in the Soviet Union. If Putin wants, Lithuania will join the Russian Federation. I don't expect people who defend Trump to understand, but the Lithuanian Prime Minister understood what Putin is doing in Ukraine can happen in Lithuania.

In Lithuania, Russian-speakers make up 15 percent of the entire population; in Latvia 34 percent; and in Estonia the number might be as high as 30 percent.

This has been a major source of worry for the Baltic states, because in the recent past Russia has demonstrated its ability to annex territories and create puppet states in places as disparate as eastern Ukraine, Crimea, Georgia’s South Ossetia and Abkhazia and Moldova’s Transnistria, all while using the ambiguous policies of protecting its compatriots.

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left, and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black. But by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and Blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."

Republican Manifesto “11 Point Plan to Rescue America”

Near the end of the Economy/Growth section, for example, there’s a call to raise taxes. “All Americans should pay some income tax to have skin in the game, even if a small amount,” it reads. “Currently over half of Americans pay no income tax.” (The document also suggests cutting IRS funding in half, so don’t sweat it too much.)

Trump On Putin's Invasion Plan: ‘This Is Genius’

Trump said:

I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, "This is genius." Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine. Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful.

So Putin is now saying, "It's independent," a large section of Ukraine. I said, "How smart is that?" And he's gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That's strongest peace force... We could use that on our southern border.

By the wav, this never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable. This would never have happened.

And you know what the response was from Biden? There was no response. They didn't have one for that. No, it's very sad. Very sad.

A swindle by a Republican governor who will most likely be reelected despite the swindle:

The former head of the Texas power grid testified in court Wednesday that he was following the direction of Governor Greg Abbott when the grid manager ordered wholesale power prices to stay at the maximum price cap for days on end during last year’s winter storm and blackout, running up billions of dollars in bills for power companies.

Bill Magness, the former CEO of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, said even as power plants were starting to come back online, former Public Utility Commission Chair DeAnn Walker told him that Abbott wanted them to keep prices high.

Last year the governor's spokesman, Mark Miner, lied to the public when he said Abbott was not “involved in any way” in the decision to keep wholesale electricity prices at the maximum of $9,000 per megawatt hour – more than 150 times normal prices.

The decision to keep power prices at the maximum cap is now at the center of a bankruptcy trial waged by the Waco-based electric co-op Brazos Electric. Brazos contends that decision was made recklessly, adding up to a $1.9 billion power bill from ERCOT that forced co-op into bankruptcy.

“It (keeping prices high) did nothing at all to cause more generation to come online,” said Lino Mendiola, one of the attorneys representing Brazos. “It was an attempted remedy that didn’t solve any of the problems caused by the winter storm.”

“This decision resulted in $16 billion in additional costs to ERCOT's market,” wrote Carrie Bivens, director of ERCOT’s Independent Market Monitor.

Now Governor Abbott is facing questions about his own responsibility in the handling of last year's blackout.

Abbott had, "once again put the profits of his donors over the people of this state. Abbott screwed us, and he’ll continue to screw us until we vote him out," Beto O'Rourke said.

How the West is Aiding and Abetting the Decline of Democracy

The shift in American foreign policy from Obama to Trump is well illustrated by America’s interactions with the Philippines in recent years. Since his election in 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte has slaughtered an estimated 7,000 people without a trial, many of them simply suspected of being low-level drug users. He has boasted about personally murdering people — including driving around on a motorcycle looking for people to kill; throwing a Chinese suspect out of a helicopter to his death; and shooting at least three. When Duterte was Mayor of Davao before becoming President of the Philippines, he lamented that he didn’t get the first crack at an Australian missionary who was brutally gang raped and then murdered. “I looked at her face, son of a bitch, she looks like a beautiful American actress. Son of a bitch, what a waste. What came to my mind was, they raped her, they lined up. Was I angry because she was raped? Yes, that’s one thing. But she was so beautiful, I think the mayor should have been first. What a waste.” And before being elected, Duterte pledged to be the Hitler of the Philippines, vowing to commit mass murder. That he has, though thankfully not on the same scale.

President Obama sharply criticized Duterte for these human rights abuses. The White House and the State Department coordinated to put pressure on Duterte to stop his killings. And crucially, Obama refused to give Duterte the thing regimes led by thugs often crave the most: international legitimacy. Under Obama, America shunned Duterte. There would be no White House visit, no smiling photo op in the Oval Office for the people of the Philippines to see. While America did not sever its ties to Manila completely, it did ramp up meaningful pressure on a mass murderer. That matters. And it clearly got under Duterte’s skin too; he called Obama a “son of a whore” as a result of his criticisms related to human rights. With “allies” like that, who needs enemies?

Trump sees Duterte differently. In a leaked phone call transcript obtained by The Washington Post, Trump explicitly endorsed Duterte’s death squads and praised the mass murderer’s moral character. “I just wanted to congratulate you because I am hearing of the unbelievable job on the drug problem … what a great job you are doing and I just wanted to call and tell you that.” He followed-up by reversing Obama’s icy tone toward Duterte and said he would instead extend the red carpet of the White House: “You are a good man … if you want to come to the Oval Office, I will love to have you in [the] Oval Office. Anytime you want to come … Keep up the good work, you are doing an amazing job.” Then, in a November 2017 visit to Manila, Trump boasted of the “great relationship” that he had with Duterte. During the trip, the two men laughed together as Duterte referred to the journalists in the room as “spies”. The hilarious punchline? 192 journalists have been murdered in the Philippines since 1992.

Of course, it’s hard to tell whether Trump simply admires ruthless, brutal despots like Duterte, or whether Trump is just acting in the interests of his own wallet (Trump Tower Manila opened in late 2017). But either way, Duterte now no longer has to worry about the President of the United States breathing down his neck and making diplomatic threats when he slaughters his own people. That shift makes it more likely that Duterte will stay in power longer—and abuse more people in worse ways in the meantime.

As with many countries, Trump’s behavior and praise for despots is at odds with the official position of the United States government and the United States State Department. I explore this problem further in the remainder of the book, as a gap between “high level” and “low level” diplomacy. With Trump, that gap has become a gulf. – from the Preface to the Second Edition of The Despot's Accomplice, by Klaas, Brian; Oxford University Press, Year: 2018

White Christians of all types prefer Republicans to Democrats

Here is a chart from Ryan Burge:

https://twitter.com/ryanburge/status/1499808868045574154

The most interesting part of this is that every single white Christian group feels closer to Republicans than Democrats. That includes not just white evangelicals, but white mainstream Protestants and white Catholics. It's only the white atheists and non-Christians who feel closer to Democrats.

Also interesting: Every white Christian group places Democrats farther to the left than they place Republicans to the right. Even the non-white groups score it as a tie. This include Black Protestants (which is most of them) who have a different view: They don't think Dems are all that far left, but they also don't think Republicans are all that far right. They prefer Dems because they view themselves as left of center.

Also of note: No one views Donald Trump as more conservative than the Republican Party—not by more than a hair, anyway. They correctly view him as basically just a standard issue Republican conservative these days. The era of Trump being a supposed rogue within the party are long gone.

You didn't click the link. You didn't notice that this was the Pope saying it. The Pope looks at the entire world, not solely the USA. The USA is not at all special about having this problem of squabbling political parties unable to govern effectively. Also, the USA is not special about high inflation rates, but the way Republicans see it, inflation is uniquely American, which means it has to be Biden causing it. Too bad for that explanation, but the GOP is correct only if the rest of the World is these three -- Japan, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Sandy Hook: The Battle for Truth

The New York Times reporter Elizabeth Williamson’s Sandy Hook is a crime story, but it’s not the story of the tragedy immediately associated with its title, the 2012 mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school that killed 20 first graders and six adults, as well as the gunman himself. The crime Williamson details happened later, when conspiracy theorists, egged on by alt-right media figure Alex Jones, insisted that the shootings were faked. They instigated campaigns of harassment against the family members of the victims, some of whom were forced to move multiple times as unhinged cranks tracked down their addresses and telephone numbers to circulate online.

Sandy Hook hoaxers justify their abuse of the victims’ families with the claim that the parents are not parents at all, but paid actors in a scheme to take away Americans’ guns.

“Trutherism” predates the Sandy Hook shooting, predates even the internet itself, springing from a mindset that the historian Richard Hofstadter identified in a celebrated essay, “The Paranoid Style in American Politics,” published in 1964. Williamson, for her part, follows the lead of the parents in referring to the believers in these theories as “hoaxers” rather than “truthers.”

When Williamson finally landed an interview with Alex Jones, it took place in a small room at Infowars HQ in Texas. She found him and his rants about the First Amendment shopworn and “tiresome,” but her masterful description of the encounter is anything but. Playing tough, Jones blustered at her with his usual abandon, but Williamson noticed something odd about his body language:

He was moving away, not toward me, parading around the room, seeking the corners. If he wanted to intimidate me, why not lean over the desk and get in my face? It struck me later that Jones may have needed that distance. People often ask: How can Jones or anyone attack the victims of mass murder? The answer: from afar. Jones doesn’t talk to actual people. He preaches to an invisible audience, an abstraction that makes it easier to absolve himself when its members act on the hatred he sows.

Trump's Christian sins: fornication, adultery, gluttony. Pretty hard for Christians to deny that Trump has committed those, but there is more:

Deuteronomy 5:20 ‘You shall not bear false witness

Leviticus 19:11-12 ‘You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.

(This is also a certainty about Trump. He has been sued, and lost, a thousand times for not paying subcontractors.)

More at 50 Bible Verses about Lies: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Lies

If you spend money to professionally investigate, Trump voters turn out to be little to no better than Trump himself, which is probably what is attractive to them about him.

GOP's violent rhetoric keeps getting worse — and almost nobody is paying attention.

Two weekends ago, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held its annual meeting in Florida. This event serves as a bellwether or test market, gauging the state of the Republican Party and "conservative" movement. As such, the conference is a rite of passage for would-be right-wing leaders who seek the approval of the Republican base.

Over the Trump administration, the faces of CPAC have changed from a more traditional conservative (tax cuts, pro-corporation) to a mixture of libertarian isolationism and cultural dog-whistling.

CPAC 2022's theme was "Awake, Not Woke." Its panel discussions offered a litany of right-wing reactionary obsessions: "The Moron in Chief," presumably a reference to Joe Biden; "Put Him to Bed, Lock Her Up and Send Her to the Border"; "Domestic Terrorists Unite: Lessons From Virginia Parents"; "Lock Downs and Mandates: Now Do You Understand Why We Have a Second Amendment?"; "Are You Ready to Be Called a Racist: The Courage to Run for Office"; and "Obamacare Still Kills."

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, who also leads the Senate Republicans' campaign operation, gave the keynote address, offering his "11 Point Plan to Save America." He also said this:

We survived the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I and World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. But today we face the greatest danger we have ever faced. The militant left-wing in our country has become the enemy within.

The militant left has now seized control of our economy, of our culture and our country.

The woke left now controls the Democrat party, the entire federal government, the news media, academia, big tech, Hollywood, most corporate boardrooms and now even some of our top military leaders. ... [T]hey are destroying just about everything they touch and they've got their hands on everything.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida) was making a not so coded appeal for political violence against the "woke left," which in practice means all Democrats, liberals, progressives and others opposed to Republicans.

A reporter asked if Indiana's Senator Mike Braun applied the same reasoning to the Supreme Court's decision in 1967 that struck down state laws banning interracial marriage under the 14th amendment, which guarantees all citizens equal protection under the law.

Braun doubled down when asked to clarify if he would be OK with leaving the decision of whether to allow interracial marriage up to states. After all, states had decided to make interracial marriage illegal.

"Yes, I think that that's something that if you're not wanting the Supreme Court to weigh in on issues like that, you're not going to be able to have your cake and eat it too," Braun responded. "I think that's hypocritical."

Eventually, Braun realized his mistake at plainly saying that racism is fine if the state legislature says it is fine and retracted his statement, but his real position is the one before his retraction. Nobody asked Braun about his position on banning slavery, but he would have left that decision up to state legislatures.

or do the left care for religion groups any more? only care when they import the jihadi shitlamic sharia law types into America?

Neo-Democrats like to de-evolve everything into some 'skin color'

So lets talk about Race and DNA and Bloodlines and Ethnicity
Let's talk about if some person might be Corrupted and Blackmailed, let us talk about their IQ, the shape of their skull and even their brain size, are they simply a diversity quota hire or could the frontal part of their brains deal with complex issues?

Since Neo-Democrats are making everything about diversity and quota agendas and skin colors

they like that debate but can they tell the difference between a African-White-skinned Albino straight from the Congo in Africa and a normal Black African or do they mistake them as Whites can they see the features as an artists or photographer or police detective does, do the Neo-Leftwing Liberals even know Albino White Negroid Africans are eaten by other Africans because they think it will give them something voodoo magical?
African Cannibals are going around eating other albinism people in Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania.
To eat their own?
Is this just a thing Congoids do? I know there was a White Caucasian serial killer and Yellow East Asian Mongolid who ate someone and also a photo opf that rebel in Syria eating someone's heart....but in Africa it seems to be happening every week. Are these just 'EVIL' people or manipulated?
I wonder what kind of mindset or personality or IQ someone has to be so easily manipulated to do something so cruel and backward and stupid.

Some Africans are good writers, some African-Americans are highly intelligent, Obama for all his flaws was a very skilled politician and speaker, Oprah Winfrey climbed the media corporate ladder and became one of the richest women in America, a network tv show host, film producer, author.

There is a new agenda quota.
Need to put a Feminist Judge as "Dumb as a fence post" into power
Otherwise you will be called racialist?

There seems to be something that makes this woman extra dumb, is it the blackmail or maybe it the lack of the front part of brain, the way her skull seems to dip backward very fast,
is it the fact she's so dumb she can not tell the difference betweetn a boy and a girl
or a criminal drug dealing hoodrat and an honest citizen?
maybe the shape of her head or its all her pro-pedophile stuff that have weirdo Leftwings pushing her into power?

New research on Trump voters: They're not the sharpest tools in the box

Now there's proof: Trump's voters lack "cognitive sophistication," often believe Bible is literal word of God.

Social psychologists and other researchers have shown that the brain structures of conservative-authoritarians are different than those of more liberal and progressive thinkers. The former are more fear-centered, emphasizing threats and dangers (negativity bias), intolerant of ambiguity and inclined to simple, binary solutions. Conservative-authoritarians are also strongly attracted to moral hierarchy and social dominance behavior.

Recent research by Darren Sherkat, a professor of sociology at Southern Illinois University, demonstrates that America's democracy crisis may be even more intractable than the above evidence suggests. In his recent article "Cognitive Sophistication, Religion, and the Trump Vote," which appeared in the January 2021 edition of Social Science Quarterly, Sherkat examined data from the 2018 General Social Survey and concluded that there are substantial negative differences between the thinking processes and cognition of white Trump voters, as shown in the 2016 presidential election, as compared to other voters who supported Hillary Clinton or another candidate, or who did not vote at all.

Sherkat observes that Trump support has been linked to religion and level of education, but until now not to "cognitive sophistication," which was found "to have a positive effect on voting, but a negative effect on choosing Trump." He notes that "philosophers and political elites have debated the potential effects of mass political participation" for generations, concerned "about the unsophisticated masses coming under the sway of a demagogue." In effect, this debate was always about the quality he calls cognitive sophistication, since citizens who lack it "may not be able to understand and access reliable and valid information about political issues and may be vulnerable to political propaganda":

Low levels of cognitive sophistication may lead people to embrace simple cognitive shortcuts, like stereotypes and prejudices that were amplified by the Trump campaign. Additionally, the simple linguistic style presented by Trump may have appealed to voters with limited education and cognitive sophistication. Beginning with [T.W.] Adorno's classic study of the authoritarian personality, empirical works have linked low levels of cognitive sophistication with right-wing orientations....

Trump's campaign may also have been more attractive to people with low cognitive sophistication and a preference for low-effort information processing because compared to other candidates Trump's speeches were given at a much lower reading level…. While much of the Trump campaign's rhetoric and orientation may have resonated with the poorly educated and cognitively unsophisticated, those overlapping groups are less likely to register to vote or to turn out in an election.

As part of his research, Sherkat evaluated the political decision-making and cognition of Trump's voters, using a 10-point vocabulary exam. In a guest essay at the website Down with Tyranny, he explains what this vocabulary test revealed about white Trump voters:

Overall, the model predicts that almost 73% of respondents who missed all 10 questions would vote for Trump (remember, that is controlling for education and the other factors), while about 51% who were average on the exam are expected to vote for Trump. Only 35% of people who had a perfect score on the exam are predicted to be Trump supporters.

Notably, this very strong, significant effect of verbal ability can be identified within educational groups. While non-college whites certainly turned out more heavily for Trump, the smart ones did not — only 38% of those with perfect scores are expected to go for Trump, and only 46% of non-college graduates who scored a standard deviation above the mean. The same is true for college graduates — low cognition college graduates were more likely to vote for Trump. ...

What is really depressing isn't just the poles of the vocabulary exam, it's the average. The mean and median of the scale is 6 — so half of white Americans missed 4 of the easy vocabulary questions.

Sherkat's research also explored how religion impacted support for Donald Trump among white voters: "This study confirms that white Americans with fundamentalist views of the Bible and those who embrace identifications with sectarian Protestant denominations tended to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 election."

Belief that the Bible is the literal "word of God" also impacted Trump voting: "Viewing the Bible as a book of fables is also significantly predictive of vote choice, with secular beliefs reducing the odds of a Trump vote by 80 percent when compared to literalists, and reducing the odds of a Trump vote by 52 percent when compared to respondents who view the Bible as inspired by God."

In an email to Salon, Sherkat offered additional context and implication on the relationship between white Christianity, American neofascism and cognition:

The problem of the contemporary American fascist right is rooted in education and information. And this problem is not simply about attainment of some quantity of education, but of the quality and content of education, how that leads generations of white Christian Americans to process information about a wide range of issues. The segregation academies that proliferated in the mid-1960s and accelerated in the 1970s have taught millions of Americans a radically skewed version of American and world history and encouraged a continued segregated society. The homeschooling movement augmented this division, and further denigrated the value of knowledge.

White fundamentalist Christians have always segmented their communities from the rest of America, and even exert considerable control over public educational institutions, particularly in rural areas and in the states which embraced slavery. White fundamentalist Christians distrust mainstream social institutions like education and print media, and they actively seek to eliminate public education and to provide alternative sources of information. As a result, people who identify with and participate in white Christian denominations and who subscribe to fundamentalist beliefs have substantial intellectual deficits that make them easy marks for a wide variety of schemes — from financial fraud to conspiracy theories.

If you can't read the New York Times, you're going to believe whatever you hear on talk radio or on television. It's simply impossible for people with limited vocabularies and low levels of cognitive functioning to make sense of the complex realities of the political world. And we now have a population where for 55 years substantial fractions of white people have gone to private fundamentalist Christian schools that leave them both indoctrinated in Christian nationalism and ill-prepared to process any additional information. Worse, we now have over a million children in a given year who are homeschooled by parents who are uneducated white fundamentalists — and that total has been pretty constant for three decades since the homeschooling movement blossomed.

What does this mean for the present and future of American democracy in this time of crisis? Sherkat cited the "disturbing ... influence of anti-intellectualism on American public life," which lends "performative power to ignorant elites":

Spouting off obvious untruths is no longer a mark of shame, because even basic historical and contemporary truths are not recognized. We seem to have a stable set of about 30% of Americans, 35% of white Americans, who are oblivious to political realities and incapable and unwilling to come to terms with any of our key social problems. The increasing control over public education by right-wing fanatics is entrenching ignorance and intellectual laziness in future generations. It does not bode well for the future of American democracy.

Donald Trump and his movement did not create all these American authoritarians and aspiring fascists. Such people have long been a feature of American society. What Trump and have accomplished in recent years is to empower and normalize a dangerous set of antisocial, anti-human, retrograde and anti-democratic values and beliefs.

Saving America's democracy will require a moral and political reckoning and acts of critical self-reflection on a nationwide scale about the American people's character and values, and about how their leaders and governing institutions have failed them.

Changes in laws and institutions are necessary. But on their own, such interventions will not stop the spread of fascism. A lasting remedy will demand that the country's political, cultural, and educational institutions be renewed, re-energized, and re-imagined. The questions Americans must ask themselves are simple yet enormous: Who are we? What are we to become? How can we unite in defense of democracy, the common good and the general welfare? Without real answers to those questions, there will be no democratic renewal in the 21st century -- and fascism wins.

QAnon’s Takeover of the Republican Party Is Virtually Complete

This week brought us evidence that QAnon thought has spread into the Senate, the Supreme Court, and the very highest levels of the Republican Party. It is increasingly difficult to separate the movement’s demented beliefs from the ideology of the GOP, its traces evident in legislation, media appearances, and leaked private communications.

QAnon’s infiltration of the Republican Party has proceeded with frightening steadiness over the last couple years, its growing foothold marked by the arrival of conspiratorial politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene. According to Business Insider, Ron Watkins, widely believed to be one of the authors of the Q posts that started the movement, is one of nearly 60 Q sympathizers running for Congress in the 2022 midterm elections. QAnon’s adherents tend to espouse some selection of bizarre beliefs from the conspiracist’s buffet that includes accusations of pedophile politicians eating children, secret political tribunals in Guantanamo Bay, a great bloodletting, and Donald Trump swooping in to free us from evil. The prophecy is flexible, which is why it has evolved and endured.

The latest exemplar of the GOP’s descent is Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas and a well-connected conservative activist who recently admitted to attending the January 6 Stop the Steal rally in Washington, D.C. Ginni’s right-wing beliefs have long been known, but leaked texts between her and then–White House chief of staff Mark Meadows revealed Thomas’s commitment to overturning the election, based on an apparently sincere belief that Joe Biden had stolen the presidency. She encouraged Meadows to help put a stop to Democratic perfidy. “The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History,” went one message to Meadows, encouraging him to stand strong.

The texts also revealed that she has traveled far down the QAnon rabbit hole. She made reference to “watermarked ballots” that signaled a secret Trump-led military “sting operation.” She described a plot hatched by the “Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators” who were already being arrested and shipped to floating barges off the coast of Guantanamo Bay. She wrote messages supporting Sidney Powell, a lawyer whose media appearances made her such a liability that she was forced out of Trump’s circle. But Thomas strongly supported Powell, a QAnon favorite. “Don’t let her and your assets be marginalized instead … help her be the lead and the face,” she wrote to Meadows on November 13.

Thomas’s willingness to embrace even the most wild-eyed, Big Lie–fueled theories only affirms what we already know about some of her political peers, including those who served in the Trump White House. Some went along out of self-preservation or an instinct for power, but other Trumpists, including perhaps Trump himself, actually accepted the proliferating lies about hacked voting machines, a communist influence project, corrupt state officials, and whatever else could be added to the witch’s brew of baseless speculation. Whether they believed these lies or not, the effect was functionally the same. In the months before and after Joe Biden’s election as president, the government was run by some who thought that corrupt Democratic officials were being tried for treason secretly in Gitmo. The sheer absurdity of all this would be hilarious if it didn’t involve people in positions of real influence.

These include lawmakers and aspiring presidential candidates in the Senate. Earlier this month, Missouri senator Josh Hawley presented a long Twitter thread charging that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson “has a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook” — a blaring Klaxon for QAnon adherents obsessed with child endangerment. He later repeated his criticisms on the first day of Jackson’s confirmation hearing to the Supreme Court, prompting a White House spokesman to assert that Hawley was engaging in a “QAnon-signaling smear.” Hawley’s remarks were later echoed by South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham, who, in addition to chiding Jackson for representing detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp, told Jackson, “Every judge who does what you are doing is making it easier for the children to be exploited.” To cap it off, one of the Republican witnesses for the hearing was Alessandra Serano, an executive at Operation Underground Railroad, a well-funded anti-sex-trafficking organization whose vigilantism and weak relationship with reality resemble that of QAnon adherents.

The signs of the Republican slide toward full epistemic crack-up are all around us. One can see it everywhere lately, not only in the “why do you want to hurt children?”–type questions hurled by Republican senators at Jackson, but also in the revanchist anti-LGBTQ laws being introduced in Texas and Florida and in fearful talk of teachers “grooming” children on Fox News. The ginned-up moral panic, centered around the child-exploitation themes that helped give life to QAnon, is now a regular part of Republican political rhetoric.

If you had any lingering pretensions that our political elites know better than the average QAnon-pilled zombie, it’s past time to let them go. The people in charge of the Republican Party are mostly old operators who believe some of the most asinine theories to emerge from social-media bilge. Granting them some measure of savviness — saying that this is red meat for the Republican base, or that it keeps the checks from right-wing billionaires coming in — is to offer too much credit. More than that, it risks absolving them through some nod toward political practicalities when, mostly, this is all pretty evil and disturbing.

Life at Fox News became “unsustainable”

From Chris Wallace, longtime Fox News host, on why he finally left the network:

"I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion. But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.

....Some people might have drawn the line earlier, or at a different point. I think Fox has changed over the course of the last year and a half. But I can certainly understand where somebody would say, ‘Gee, you were a slow learner, Chris.’”
