Do you not know what quotation marks mean??? I put them there to indicate I was *quoting* someone else, and that I wasn't the original author.

"If you're going to quote someone here it's very easy. The program does it for you. What you did in no way suggests you were quoting SECOND."

Oh look, I just quoted myself from another post. Get the point dummy.

Jeez T.

Just because the website has a system for quoting people doesn't mean that supersedes the long established English language.

I'd think twice about calling somebody else a dummy when you are exhibiting dummy behavior yourself in the argument.

That being said, maybe the reason that Kiki didn't use the system quote there is because it wasn't actually Second that said that either. Second was quoting an author and it was part of this paragraph:

Quote:

In his new book, The Great Leveler: Violence and the History of Inequality from the Stone Age to the Twenty-First Century, the Austrian historian Walter Scheidel puts forth a depressing and thought-provoking thesis: The only thing that can really dent rampant and long-lasting economic inequality is violence.

You think you are arguing against me. Instead you are arguing against the proper etiquette of quoting someone dummy. This is why people get an education. What kiki did is wrong. You don't quote someone and not inform the reader who it is you are quoting. Some here do it all the time.

I've seen SIG put things in quotes here and then argue against what she quoted. Funny thing is, she made up these quoted statements herself. She did this so she could pretend to make someone look stupid and herself superior.

People here do all kinds of things to confuse or make their point. They do it for many different reasons. They also intentionally misquote people here all the time. They argue points based on false and twisted concepts of anothers' post as well. Only your friends do that Jack. I'm talking about kiki, SIG and their sock puppets.

You'll argue anything without thinking it through won't you? It's what makes you someone to be ignored.

Trump Jr. Hinted at Review of Anti-Russia Law, Moscow Lawyer Says

A Russian lawyer who met with President Donald Trump’s oldest son last year says he indicated that a law targeting Russia could be re-examined if his father won the election and asked her for written evidence that illegal proceeds went to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

She DID put it in quotes. She just didn't put it in the FFF.NET system quotes.

Anybody with half a brain would have known that Kiki didn't write that.

I think we've cleared up the confusion about it.

And LOL that Kiki and I are friends. What, are you new here?

No offense, Kiki.

It is a bit chilly out, and we had snow on Saturday, but is Hell freezing over?
This is really hard to admit, but T has a point, several of them.
The rampant lack of attribution and unclear quotes gets quite confusing. Not to mention some posters replying BEFORE the quote they are REPLYING to. Like reversing chronological sequence.

At least you can separate out who said what when they reply above the quoted context, but I do get your point. I'm guilty of that myself at times. It's just that many times the quoted posts are just to long. If the response is at the top you can go to the quoted part being referred to instead of constantly having to read the entire post.

When you look at kiki's posts many many times they are a confusing mess. And much of the time SIGs' are made up or misquoted. If they won't clarify who they've quoted and quote them properly and accurately then the post should be dismissed as bogus.

Now, back to the countdown clock and news of the day shall we.

Speaking of dishonest: Trump's adviser, Carter Page’s bizarre testimony to the House Intelligence Committee, explained. He testified for more than six hours on the Russia scandal. It was weird.

www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/11/7/16616912/carter-page-testimo
ny-trump-russia

Page has been talking nonstop about the scandal in the press, always proclaiming his total innocence. Page frequently filibusters, goes on tangents, and works himself into a state of high dudgeon. But when he’s asked to explain how what he’s saying now fits with the actual emails he wrote at the time, things get awkward. Pressed on inconsistencies, Page struggled to explain them.

LOL... yeah. You mean like the few times I have caught you doing that red handed by quoting your posts and then calling you out later when you changed the post after the fact.

And seriously dude. If you absolutely must use the pink font. Please do everybody a favor and put an end bracket on that shit so everybody quoting you doesn't have to take the extra step of removing your color.

I'm not sure if you're actually aware of the inconvenience you pose for everybody with that.

You rarely ever quote him. Every time you do you have to edit your post to get rid of the pink on your own words.

I normally wouldn't point it out, in fact I've dealt with it for months now, but T goes out of his way to slam other people about their own posting etiquette.

Naw, mostly because I find the progressively inward- and backward-going indents to be awkward, and it's just too time consuming to erase all the extraneous stuff when I only want a sentence or two. Hence, quotation marks.

"You don't quote someone and not inform the reader who it is you are quoting. Some here do it all the time.'

Why not? I'm responding TO YOU. You know what you posted. And you don't need me to tell you who you are. Do you?

And anyone else can see the point I'm addressing BECAUSE I QUOTE IT, and also my subsequent response to that point. Who I'm responding to doesn't change the discussion. Unless of course what you think about something depends on who's saying it. In which case, you're awfully weak-minded.

As for sockpuppets, neither I nor signy has ever had them. But you are bound and determined to find them even when they don't exist.

I'm curious who you think is my sockpuppet(s). I can't imagine anyone that could even remotely be attached to me, especially now that this place is a ghost town, and most of the dregs who are still here have been here forever, with their own unique and individual voices.

Except you of course. You're DT.

Ok did it. It's easy as shit to just delete the color comand. You don't even have to delete the whole thing. Back to politics shall we? The elections yesterday are important because if the Republicans think backing Trump is no longer in their best interest they will be more likely to turn on him.

Democrats post big wins in first nationwide elections under Trump

Democrats won in Virginia, New York, New Jersey and New England -- while Republicans held onto the only congressional seat up for grabs.

Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Progressive Democrats were big winners in Tuesday's nationwide elections -- signaling what some observers say is a referendum on President Donald Trump's administration.

You forcing everyone to delete your open ended color quote is disrespectful to everybody here too. Keep using the color. Just put an end tag on it.

I will agree that it's just as irritating to have to delete long signatures here at FFF.net as well.

I'd suggest that Haken fix that since many other forums don't add the signature to quotes these days, but I won't bother him since there is so little traffic at the site now.

Although I suspect just putting some lame thing about taking over dead accounts and making "zombies" out of them would be more plausible.

Only problem with that second part for me is that I would suspect there are far easier targets to choose from than me on this board to resurrect. I don't think it would make sense to use mine.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Freakin' Sweet!

I wonder if my "real body" isn't even real at all?

My "consciousness" feels as though it is in the "real world" right now typing this on a laptop and when I'm not here typing things online that I'm doing all other sorts of stuff, but maybe that is just part of my programming... part of my learning process.

Maybe these memories are built off of somebody else's life and what they post about themselves online, or maybe an amalgamation of many somebodies.

Maybe I'm immortal?

I figure if I dont need to copy any 'real' stuff to create fake peepl, an AI with the brain power uv a God coud do it in its sleep.

Now consider many competing AIz.

The final rezult will be the entire internet filled with fake peepl! No room for us, so we'd need to construct a completely seperate internet if we dont want to go back to the stone aje.

Hey! This soundz like a good flashback story for The Verse to explain why there are no droidz or advanst computerz! The only sure way to prevent them from taking over iz to keep them stoopid & simple.

Not sure if that's a list of potential sockpuppets you've made there or not OONJ.

I'll just let it be known that from moment one I never pretended that my other ID wasn't me. And now that i'm using the old one I immediately said why that was the case as well. Never have I used both at the same time and I even named them so similarly so nobody would accuse me of any shenanigans. :)

That would be interesting if you were G though. I, for one, find this persona much more agreeable.

It's very incendiary and only helps to prevent reason and logic from winning the day. This process has to play out and the rule of law should dictate the outcome. Not the ideology of a few on the left in this case. They don't realize it but they too are ignorant of the process and they too are a threat to our democratic institutions and way of life.

I miss some of them too. I hope if they ever reboot Firefly they don't screw it up and maybe some of them will come back.

T's been accusing people lately of sock-puppetry and said that Signy was Jayneztown.

I just saw my two names next to each other and Signy and Jaynez together and then I looked at the rest of the list and thought about it and although I won't mention any of them I did see a few others who could potentially be the same person.

Personally, I don't believe anybody here is using sock puppets, but I could be wrong.

Rep. Eric Swalwell said he wants to know whether the Russians paid for early Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos' travels throughout Europe during the election.

Papadopoulos pleaded guilty earlier this year to lying to federal agents about his contacts with Russia-linked foreign nationals while serving as a junior foreign policy adviser for President Donald Trump's campaign team.

The White House and former Trump campaign advisers have sought to distance themselves from Papadopoulos, claiming he was just a "low-level volunteer."

Mueller Probing Pre-Election Flynn Meeting with Pro-Russia Congressman

WASHINGTON — Investigators for Special Counsel Robert Mueller are questioning witnesses about an alleged September 2016 meeting between Mike Flynn, who later briefly served as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a staunch advocate of policies that would help Russia, two sources with knowledge of the investigation told NBC News.

The meeting allegedly took place in Washington the evening of Sept. 20, while Flynn was working as an adviser to Trump’s presidential campaign. It was arranged by his lobbying firm, the Flynn Intel Group. Also in attendance were Flynn’s business partners, Bijan Kian and Brian McCauley, and Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, who worked closely with his father, the sources said.

Mueller is reviewing emails sent from Flynn Intel Group to Rohrabacher’s congressional staff thanking them for the meeting, according to one of the sources, as part of his probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

There's nothing that can be said about Mueller that isn't good. Unless it's a lie. Still some persist. Those who post negatively about him are the ones who have agendas or have succumb to an unrealistic, unhealthy ideology. Pretty much Jack, kiki, SIG, and JSF have responded in such a way so far.

The thing to know is that no matter what anyone here says, the rule of law will win out. Our democratic institutions including ( judicial and media ), will grow stronger because of this.

I love the funny president of the United States, the greatest negotiator the world has ever seen:

Q: Did Russia’s attempts to meddle in US elections come up in the conversations with Putin?

Trump: "He said he didn’t meddle, he said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times."

Q: Do you believe him?

Trump: "Well, look….that whole thing was set up by the Democrats. Look at Podesta, look at all the things that they have done with the phony dossier. Those are the big events. But Putin said he did not do what they said he did…."

Q: On election meddling, did you ask him the question?

Trump: "Every time he sees me he says I didn’t do that and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it. But he says I didn’t do that. I think he is very insulted by it, which is not a good thing for our country."

www.axios.com/trump-sides-with-putin-over-intelligence-agencies-on-rus
sian-meddling-2508577822.html

There you have it. Russia had nothing to do with any hacking or trollbots or fake news or any of that. It was all just a big Democratic dirty trick, although American intelligence agencies, including the CIA, NSA, FBI and the ODNI (Office of the Director of National Intelligence) are unified in their opinion that Russia actively worked to meddle in the election.

Atheist War Hawks Manipulate Believers to Beat the Drums of War

Leo Strauss is the father of the Neo-Conservative movement, including many leaders of the current administration.

Indeed, many of the main neocon players – including Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Stephen Cambone, Elliot Abrams, and Adam Shulsky – were students of Strauss at the University of Chicago, where he taught for many years.

The people pushing for war against Iran are the same neocons who pushed for war against Iraq. See this and this. (They planned both wars at least 20 years ago.) For example, Shulsky was the director of the Office of Special Plans – the Pentagon unit responsible for selling false intelligence regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. He is now a member of the equivalent organization targeting Iran: the Iranian Directorate.

Strauss taught that religion should be used as a way to manipulate people to achieve the aims of the leaders. But that the leaders themselves need not believe in religion.

Leo Strauss died in 1973. He had nothing to do with the invasion of Iraq. Your hypotheses is based on the men you mention having no other influences' in their lives other that Strauss. He was not in the room when the decisions were being made. I doubt you even understand what you posted. All it is, is speculation and subjective bullshit. None of which is based in fact.

A bit of advice. Those who may wish for Armageddon, may wish for it kiki, would include religious nuts and only religious nuts. You and sig are focused only on the most negative aspects of everything. Collectively your posts offer up a sad commentary about your make ups.
