Not a big fan of Karens either.

Why do Karens think that Covid-19 came from space and behaves differently than any other virus under the sun?

Show me a person who lived to old age and never got the flu and I'll show you a liar.

This ain't going anywhere. And once it mutates your precious vaccine that took years to make isn't going to help.

Prepare for a future where people who are scared of it can get their flu and Covid shots on a yearly basis.

Meanwhile, hardly anybody who wasn't older than the life expectancy of Americans has died of it, and any of that fearmongering bullshit about other complications you need to take with a grain of salt because these people are always wrong about everything even when it's not politically charged.

Also meanwhile, take a moment to thank the lord or the giant flying spaghetti monster that you are in a situation where you've got the time and resources to wait it out. (Something, I might add, that is exclusive to Boomers and not their kids or their grandkids)

Hopefully the economy never tanks so hard that you become desperate. Because the overreaction to this virus is much worse than the virus itself, and like most other things time is going to prove me right about this one too.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

The problem is, SIX hates ... absolutely hates ... "boomers" and he wants to see them all die off, very quickly. On top of that, he seems to be in denial about viruses.

So he winds up contradicting himself, hoping (on the one hand) that the virus kills a lot of boomers and saying (on the other hand) that it's no worse than "a cold". But what I think is really driving this is that he just hates boomers, and will say anything to promote boomers dying off faster.

It's not that I blame him. If his mother really was undx bipolar, that would really leave a brand on the psyche.

One of the guys who worked for me, his wife sounded like undxd bipolar. He would bitch and complain about how his wife was trying to get him to buy yet another rental property, he would be so angry his lips would quiver, but when push came to shove he'd wind up signing whatever papers she shoved in front of him.

And the kids were entirely fucked up. The son had absolutely no drive and married a nag much like his mom. And the daughter was found wandering around a bus depot in Seattle, out of her head bc she was starving to death, being a member of the breatharian cult. What a mess.

Having someone like that in the family warps everyone. It's far worse than having a parent with a substance abuse problem

Yup.

My mom was just shy of Piper Laurie (minus the religion) on Carrie (which incidentally was one of her favorite movies).

She actually had the nerve to ask me about a year before I got kicked out why I never had any friends around anymore. I straight up told her that she was an embarrassment. My friends don't like being screamed at for stupid shit like forgetting to take their hat off when they come in the house and other dumb rules she and the step dad had. When one of my girlfriends girl friend came by before we went to see a movie mom told her that we don't allow hats in the house and when she kind of laughed because she thought it was a joke (seriously, who in the 90's even did that anymore) my mom started yelling at her and it was the first (and last) time they ever met.

Then there was the time that my mom started just reaching back to the sky and slapping me in the face for some dumb shit reason or another and I just kept looking her dead in the eye and yelling "THANK YOU SIR! MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!"

That went on for about 5 or so minutes while she was breaking down in tears and just kept doing it until I assume her hand hurt too much to do it anymore and she slunk off to her bedroom. Both my brothers remember that one since they were upstairs and peeking down to watch it happen.

I honestly felt a lot of guilt leaving both of them, but it was time for me to move on. I shouldered the brunt of her illness for at least 10 years and spared them most of it. After I left, my middle brother couldn't take it very long and enlisted in the military less than a year later. Then my youngest brother was there alone, turned to booze which made a horrible situation even worse for everyone, and finally was out on his ass after my stepdad beat the shit out of him.

But the happy ending was that my old man didn't have a problem finally ending the child support payments for my 28 year old brother that seemed like they were never going to end since mom had a great lawyer and they they milked the shit that disabled card as long as they could (while never once making a legitimate attempt to get him on SSDI where he belonged, because it was much easier to just steal money from my Dad instead).

Who'd have guessed that Judges don't look too fondly on parents beating the shit out of their disabled children? The more you know.

And years and many horrible financial decisions later (and minus my dad's child support), they don't have much to their name, when they should probably have a couple of million saved up with all those years in the 401k and 20 years running a successful business. But they're basically retarded when it comes to money and they pissed it all away.

I've already let it be known to my brother that he and my pharmacist sister in law can foot her expenses when the time comes to put her in a home. I'm not paying a dime, and I'm sure as hell not giving her a place to live either.

Seriously. Why would anybody ever want to get married?

My parents did me a huge favor.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand ...

Describing Signym and 1kiki as "Russian trolls" is actually the best alternative. It means the two are serving Russia by stirring up trouble in America, and earning a little money, and writing beautifully. That would make them useful Russians. On the other hand, if Signym and 1kiki are "registered Democrats" in California, they are useless people. Deluded, nutty people who write quickly and beautifully. I admire that writing ability, whether they are Russians or Americans. Even Trump has excellent qualities, but he is very bad at performing useful work as an executive in charge of a organization with millions of employees. His handling of the pandemic is a typical example of both a bad executive performance and his excellent qualities as a communicator. He very well knows how to say and write things which will leave the government's pandemic response confused and ineffective, but sadly that's his intention. If he didn't screw it up intentionally, why did he do it? What then is his purpose? The same could be said about Signym, 1kiki, and 6ix. What is their purpose if it isn't to intentionally trouble America?

I've never been able to convince myself that 1kiki, Signym and 6ix have any coherent purpose in America, something more than routine maintenance, something worthwhile they accomplish when not at the keyboard. Or for that matter, that they have even mild interest in Firefly.

Find ONE QUOTE where I do that, JACKAREN/ WISHI. You won't, because I never advocated thrashing the Constitution.

I've never advocated thrashing the Constitution or anything you've repeatedly trolled me over. Never advocated lockdowns, forced vaccinations, or 'full government control over everything', and never been 'terrified'. Never endorsed every government recommendation. Never posted every new breathless announcement.

And in all this time, after being repeatedly challenged, you've never found even ONE quote to back up your claims, and you never will find one.

So, let me repeat the main point here, JACKAREN/ WISHI, in a way that will be hard to miss:
YOU WILL NOT FIND A SINGLE POST OF MINE DOING WHAT YOU'VE TROLLED ME FOR DOING BECAUSE THEY DON'T EXIST IN REAL LIFE.

I apologize to everyone for starting a thread to keep up with facts about SARS-COV-2, and driving JACKAREN/ WISHI over the edge with too much reality.

That's rich, coming from a guy who spews hate and lies mornnig, noon, and night because of something that happened at least 35 years ago.

Anyway, Freud was a giant fraud. It appears that he ignored evidence of actual sexual abuse, and instead blamed the victim for unconsciously desiring the parent sexually.

IMHO psychiatry has been used most often to "adjust" individuals to unjust situations, to put the blame and responsibility for all ills that the individual suffers on the individual and never on the larger society. Just look at Edward Bernays, Freud's nephew, who used psychiatry to skew entire populations. Even today, psychiatrists continue to serve the system created by the elites. For example, generally speaking, psychiatrists have been trained to assume that hypomania is the NORMAL mindset. This never-say-die, I-can-be-anyone-I-want-to-be, pick-myself-up-after-every-fall, mindlessly optimistic (promoted) attitude actually does a POORER job of predicting outcomes and making realistic choices. But hypomania serves a hypercompetitive, every-man-for-himself-and-god-against-all society because it causes the victims to blame THEMSELVES and to continue beating their heads against the wall that the elites have constructed. Those people will never seek to change society.

Psychiatrists have worked out torture methods for every tyrannical government, including Hitler and the USA, and routinely oversee torture sessions.

Most Republicans say that 176,000 coronavirus deaths are ‘acceptable,’ new CBS poll shows

More than 176,000 people in the United States have died from the coronavirus as of Sunday morning, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.

Is that an acceptable figure? CBS News, with help from YouGov, posed that question to 2,226 registered voters in recent days and the response varied dramatically, depending on party.

The 57% of Republicans who think 180,304 COVID-19 deaths are acceptable are the same who thought 2 Ebola deaths or 4 Benghazi deaths were too many. 57% of Republicans were lying when they yelled "All Lives Matter."

I've never posted that I hate Americans, have never posted that large numbers of people should be killed [or allowed to die] have never posted anything against our American interests, have never advocated group punishment or cast group blame. My yardstick for measuring policies, politicians and TPTB is whether they further AMERICANS interests.

I try to discuss factually, objectively, and logically and do my best to respond ON POINT, unlike you, REAVERBOT, CAPTAINMUSH, THUGR, and TWITCHY, who's nearly exclusive response to anything you don't like is personal attack, libel, strawmen, and distraction.

Skip the first part, Chris Martenson is still pursuing his "native immunity/lower threshold for herd immunity" theory.

However, at 19:20 he discusses a triple therapy that has been found by Australian doctor and researcher to be 100% successful in curing mild cases of Covid-19: Ivermectin, zinc, and doxycyline. This therapy is more successful than HCQ+azithromycin, which was used as the base case in comparative studies.

Also, with the development of a rapid saliva PCR test for Covid-19, it will be possible to test early and TREAT early, when it is likely to be more successful.

There's still a lot that's not known about the virus. Recently I've read articles that claimed 1) cytokine storm prevents long-term immunity, 2) a recently confirmed case of RE-acquired COVID-19 4 months after the initial infection puts long-term immunity in doubt, and 3) immunity to the original SARS-CoV-1 lasts as long as 17 years.

OBVIOUSLY with so much conflicting data, decisions especially regarding chronic COVID-19, reacquired COVID-19, and COVID-19 vaccinations, are being made by intuition, not hard data.

I wonder, of the thousands, or maybe hundreds of thousands of Dem lemmings who video conferenced the DNC, how many of them tested positive for Covid?

Testing rates have about 5% positivity, so that would be 50 per 1,000 Dems tested.

That story says that 4 people tested positive, out of 300 attendees and support staff, and out of 800 tests taken.

4 pos results of 800 tests would be 00.5% positiviety.

And 4 people out of 300 is 1.33% of the total.

Sounds like GOP Conventions are the antidote for Covid, keeping positivity rates far below the national norm.

One of the big problems with COVID-19 vaccines is that injected vaccines in general don't develop a good immune response in the upper airways. So while the vaccines could be helpful in preventing serious deep-lung pneumonia and all the other serious tissue damage caused by COVID-19 (cardiac especially, plus kidney, liver, brain, and clotting) - THUS SAVING LIVES, they wouldn't be especially helpful in keeping the virus from infecting the throat and upper trachea where SARS-CoV-2 resides, and from where it generally infects others.

The 'upper airway' problem is why flu-vaccine manufacturers have been toying with intranasal vaccination (FluMist®), though not seriously pursuing it commercially as the main mode for vaccination (it's just much easier and more profitable to keep on doing what you've been doing). (The flu vaccine was originally developed for intranasal inoculation, fwiw).

Some researchers have been testing out COVD-19 nasal vaccines in animals, to apparently good effect.

COVID-19: Nasal vaccine shows promise in mouse study
A new study has explored an experimental COVID-19 vaccine for intranasal administration. The scientists show that just one dose may protect against infection in mice susceptible to the novel coronavirus.

My personal opinion is that vaccines expected to confer long-term immunity should always be administered in a series of forms and routes, from injections of pure protein bits made from recombinant DNA, then killed whole virus (or bacteria), and finally attenuated administration of the vaccine to mucous membranes (where applicable).

Early on on a per capita basis, US COVID-19 cases peaked at 100 while deaths peaked at 7 (for a 7% mortality rate), and peak deaths actually led peak cases by a few days. In this second phase, cases peaked at 215 while deaths peaked at 3.5 (for a 1.6% mortality rate), and deaths led cases by 1 day.

This tells me that as a whole, the US isn't doing enough testing. Cases peaks should lead deaths peaks, not follow them. It looks like the US is using deaths to trigger testing.

The link below is to an article that gives a pretty good summary of what we know so far about long-term and permanent organ damage - especially heart damage - in people who've had COVID-19 (even mild and asymptomatic cases). It also has a number of links to original information.

Quote:

... the herd immunity–building approach has another major problem, only recently realized: The long-term health impact the coronavirus can have on victim's hearts. Troublingly, even those who seem to have less-pronounced COVID-19 symptoms or no symptoms at all may discover that they have heart issues later.

"That's certainly the concern, even for people who have a relatively benign infection ... (said) Dr. Thomas Maddox ... "... like we saw with the German study, sometimes even those folks, at least a subset, may have long-term cardiac damage. It was really concerning that about 80 percent of people had some evidence of scarring or some swelling in the heart," Maddox said. "Even if they hadn't necessarily been that sick."

The study Maddox is referring to was published in JAMA Cardiology by German researchers in July. The study, which used Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging in 100 recently-recovered COVID-19 patients, identified ongoing myocardial inflammation in 60 percent of the recovering volunteers. In total, 78 percent had abnormal CMR findings. "These findings indicate the need for ongoing investigation of the long-term cardiovascular consequences of COVID-19," the authors state in the study.

A separate autopsy study by a different group of German researchers had similar findings, in that the coronavirus had affected COVID-19 patients' hearts.
https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/2768914

"We believe that the heart can be affected by COVID in a couple of ways," Maddox said. "One is that the infection and stress resulting from an infection can cause injury to the heart, just almost as a bystander effect with the heart working so hard to fight off the overall viral infection that can cause damage." The second, Maddox said, that there might be some "direct viral invasion," although the evidence of that doesn't necessarily stack up. A third concern is for people who have severe symptoms, there could be an overreaction of the immune system attacking the heart. The fourth is related to clotting in the body.

As Scientific American recently reported, a growing body of research suggests COVID-19 has detrimental long-term effects on the heart, even among very healthy young people.

"It looks like there's long-term lung damage, and this affects various organ systems," Maddox said. "So I think we want to be careful of being too cavalier and saying, 'Oh, throw everybody together and get everybody infected, we'll get enough antibodies circulating to protect everyone,' because I don't think it's that simple."

"I think there may be a fairly large number of people who would have long-term health problems, if we adopted that strategy," Maddox added.

COVID-19 Can Wreck Your Heart, Even if You Haven’t Had Any Symptoms

A growing body of research is raising concerns about the cardiac consequences of the coronavirus

We’ve also known for a while that some COVID-19 patients’ hearts are taking a beating, too—but over the past few weeks, the evidence has strengthened that cardiac damage can happen even among people who have never displayed symptoms of coronavirus infection. And these frightening findings help explain why college and professional sports leagues are proceeding with special caution as they make decisions about whether or not to play.

More than a dozen athletes at Power Five conference schools have been identified as having myocardial injury following coronavirus infection, according to ESPN; two of the conferences—the Big Ten and the Pac-12—already have announced they are postponing all competitive sports until 2021. And in Major League Baseball, Boston Red Sox ace pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez told reporters that he felt “100 years old” as a result of his bout with COVID, and of MLB’s shortened season because of myocarditis—an inflammation of the heart muscle, often triggered by a virus. Said Rodriguez: “That’s [the heart is] the most important part of your body, so when you hear that … I was kind of scared a little. Now that I know what it is, it’s still scary.”

Why are these athletes (and their leagues and conferences) taking such extreme precautions? It’s because of the stakes. Though it often resolves without incident, myocarditis can lead to severe complications such as abnormal heart rhythms, chronic heart failure and even sudden death.

Here’s the background: Myocarditis appears to result from the direct infection of the virus attacking the heart, or possibly as a consequence of the inflammation triggered by the body’s overly aggressive immune response. And it is not age-specific: In The Lancet, doctors recently reported on an 11-year-old child with multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C)—a rare illness—who died of myocarditis and heart failure. At autopsy, pathologists were able to identify coronavirus particles present in the child’s cardiac tissue, helping to explain the virus’ direct involvement in her death. In fact, researchers are reporting the presence of viral protein in the actual heart muscle, of six deceased patients. Of note is the fact that these patients were documented to have died of lung failure, having had neither clinical signs of heart involvement, nor a prior history of cardiac disease.

Ossama Samuel, associate chief of cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York, told me about a cluster of younger adults developing myocarditis, some of them a month or so after they had recovered from COVID-19. One patient, who developed myocarditis four weeks after believing he had recovered from the virus, responded to a course of steroid treatment only to develop a recurrence in the form of pericarditis (an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart). A second patient, in her 40s, now has reduced heart function from myocarditis, and a third—an athletic man in his 40s—is experiencing recurring and dangerous ventricular heart rhythms, necessitating that he wear a LifeVest defibrillator for protection. His MRI also demonstrates fibrosis and scarring of his heart muscle, which may be permanent, and he may ultimately require placement of a permanent defibrillator.

J.N. ... told me that COVID-19 symptoms first appeared in his case in late March. ... Just 34 years old, he was diagnosed with COVID-induced myocarditis and severe heart failure. Doctors admitted him to the intensive care unit and placed him on a lifesaving intra-aortic balloon pump due to the very poor function of his heart. He spent two weeks in the hospital, has suffered recurrences since his discharge, and now says, “I’m very careful. I’m very concerned about the length of time I’ve been feeling sick, and if these symptoms are lifelong or will go away anytime soon.” J.N. said that everyday activities, like carrying his one-year-old daughter up a flight of stairs, leave him feeling winded and fatigued. He has been unable to work since March

Experts estimate that half of myocarditis cases resolve without a chronic complication, but several studies suggest that COVID-19 patients show signs of the condition months after contracting the virus. One non–peer reviewed study, involving 139 health care workers who developed coronavirus infection and recovered, found that about 10 weeks after their initial symptoms, 37 percent of them were diagnosed with myocarditis or myopericarditis ...

Any such cardiac sequelae lingering weeks to months after the fact is clearly concerning, and we’re seeing more evidence of it. A German study found that 78 percent of recovered COVID-19 patients, the majority of whom had only mild to moderate symptoms, demonstrated cardiac involvement more than two months after their initial diagnoses. Six in 10 were found to have persistent myocardial inflammation. While emphasizing that individual patients need not be nervous, lead investigator Elike Nagel added in an e-mail, “My personal take is that COVID will increase the incidence of heart failure over the next decades.”

Samuel called it “extremely dangerous” for athletes diagnosed with myocarditis to play competitive sports for at least three to six months, because of the risk of serious arrhythmia or sudden death, and several athletes already have made the decision to heed those dire warnings.

And for the rest of us? Wear a mask, social distance, avoid large gatherings, and spend more time in the great outdoors. I would echo the advice of J.N.: “Be careful. Just don’t get the virus in the beginning.” As of today, it’s still the best defense we’ve got.

It seems deceptively simple, painless, easy and cheap, and yet so many people (10s of thousands? millions?) just can't seem to do it. "No!" I suspect they have trouble putting their socks on in the morning as well. Having said that, I do not like to wear a mask. I really don't get why, but I do understand the reluctance. That is a pretty lame lie.
Dems are creating the lockdown economic loss, joblessness problem. Dems can pass all the relief they want to, the GOP have been ready to approve Relief bills galore. But Dems are holding hostage the Relief Bills because they are demanding $1 Trillion in Dem Pork instead of Relief.

I had thought better of you.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

By sheer numbers, Portland doesn't come close to the 400,000+ person Sturgis superspreader event, which was followed by sharp outbreaks in both N (150/M -> 350/M) and S (100/M -> 400/M) Dakota.

What's going on with the AstraZeneca/ Oxford vaccine trial ...

Covid-19 vaccine trial participant had serious neurological symptoms, but could be discharged today, AstraZeneca CEO says

The participant who triggered a global shutdown of AstraZeneca’s Phase 3 Covid-19 vaccine trials was a woman in the United Kingdom who experienced neurological symptoms consistent with a rare but serious spinal inflammatory disorder called transverse myelitis, the drug maker’s chief executive, Pascal Soriot, said during a private conference call with investors on Wednesday morning.

“To have a clinical hold, as has been placed on AstraZeneca as of yesterday, because of a single serious adverse event is not at all unprecedented,” Francis Collins, the director of the National Institutes of Health, told a Senate panel on Wednesday. “This certainly happens in any large-scale trial where you have tens of thousands of people invested in taking part, some of them may get ill and you always have to try to figure out: Is that because of the vaccine, or were they going to get that illness anyway?”

The vaccine — known as AZD1222 — uses an adenovirus that carries a gene for one of the proteins in SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. The adenovirus is designed to induce the immune system to generate a protective response against SARS-2. The platform has not been used in an approved vaccine, but has been tested in experimental vaccines against other viruses, including the Ebola virus.

‘Everyone was left to guess what went wrong’: An open letter to AstraZeneca’s CEO on transparency

When the news broke late Tuesday that a participant in your late-stage Covid-19 vaccine trial experienced a serious reaction, the company would only confirm the trial was put on hold in order to review safety data due to a “potentially unexplained illness.”

On Wednesday morning, another statement was issued with essentially the same information, and very little specifics.

That same morning, though, you held a conference call with JP Morgan clients, who learned more details than had been disclosed to the public.

Oxford has been working on a coronavirus vaccine as a modified adenovirus for quite some time. The group was able to quickly modify its existing work when the Chinese published the RNA sequence early on, so they had a head start on the groundwork.

lol... yeah.

Good luck with those vaccines. I'll let you guys try them for about 20 years and sit back and watch the side effects before that needle is getting anywhere close to me.

Fortunately, I'm informed enough and smart enough that I don't have to make blanket statements about the vaccine. I'll be able to decide when the time comes from where things stand at the time, in my locale, and the info on the particular vaccine available.

I wanted to get Lasik surgery 20 years ago. It's a good thing I didn't.

You keep telling yourself that you're smart. Have fun being a "well informed" guinea pig. I'm not injecting shit that they rushed out the door for the Karens.

The Russian vaccine is also based on adenovirus, and I believe they were the first to develop the Ebola vaccine.

I know nothing about the Russian vaccine. But I'm always willing to learn something new!

100% false equivalence.

Go fuck yourself if you're trying to tell everyone that you don't have any bad and unhealthy habits.

I enjoy smoking. I don't particularly enjoy the idea of injecting a Chinese/Russian/US collaboration approved by Bill Gates and the CDC into my veins.

I know exactly what I'm inhaling.
