It does indeed though I managed to accomplish quite a bit. As in downloading my medical file from my old doc onto a memory stick and then taking it to my new doc, for downloading onto their system.

Good deal!

That's important!

Need to get to taxes. Will probably request an extension bc paperwork not together yet.

Slowly getting into the swing of things again. I managed to finally(!) give the dog a bath and trim her nails after many months a few days ago, and did some light yardwork. I don't have Dr OK to do digging or heavy lifting (yet) but I did manage to extract permission to use hand clippers and clipped down a binful of weeds today.

Also am not doing range of motion, like I should, but building it into daily activities, reaching up and back for things, especially with my left hand bc that's the side they did more surgery on and more in danger of developing scar tissue and lymphedema. Seeing progress on that too.

I wouldn't hurry. They're certainly not hurrying.

I just checked the time table from last year to this year. Even though I sent mine in 2 days earlier this year, they still haven't even acknowledged that they received it. Last year I had the check direct deposited 6 days ago.

Ooooh, how EXCITING!!

I heard abig, but muffled bang early this AM, almost as if a large tree limb fell on a wall, and after mentally trying to ID the noise (and failing) I went outside with a bright flashlight to see if aything big had fallen.

While shining the flashlight around the yard, I spotted an OWL on our back wall!!! ( shone the light on it a couple of times, decided the shape, behavior and eye position wasn't possom, raccoon, cat or anything else, and figured out what it was. I sure hope I didn't blind the poor thing!

Since it was pretty uniformly pale and fairly small, most likely a barn olw, attracted to the tree rats in the neigborhood.

Which reminded me that a couple of weeks ago I was pretty sure I heard an owl hooting at night, but it was faint and intermittent so I just put it out of mind.

I guess I won't be needing that rat trap after all!

That's cool. I've never actually seen an owl in person unless you count one I'd probably seen at some point in captivity.

Are tree rats really a thing? That's what I call squirrels.

I haven't had a mouse in my house for a long time. I think getting the outside of the back porch fixed up and a brand new door on it did the trick. I still leave the traps out, but it's had to have been 6 months since I've had one in here.

Tree rats (AKA roof rats, fruit rats) are a real thing. They're quite a bit smaller than sewer (ie Norwegian) rats, their bodies (nose to rump) are generally no larger than 5" and they're agile climbers, capable of running on electrical lines etc.

We have a lot of fruit and avocado trees around which always produce more than anyone can eat, so the rats have a field day here!

Altho you're not too far off thinking of squirrels as tree rats. Hard to believe but rats, mice, rabbits, squirrels, hamsters, even beavers (!) are all classified as rodents.

You can always tell rodents by the ever-growing upper two and lower two teeth. FWIW possums, skunks, and raccoons aren't.

So, I don't know what happened yesterday but I was so tired I went in for an early 1 hour nap, and even my loud annoying timer didn't wake me up: I slept for 2 1/2 hours!

But I managed to do more today. I picked the palm stalks up (hubby pulled them down from the roof too) and did some backyard weeding.

My tomato is still cranking out tomatoes. Normally they're pollinated bumblebees so I was wondering what the pollinator was. Today I saw a teddy bear bee busy working the bush. They tend to be a bit territorial so I kept a bit away

Huh. I did not know that. Are they at least "clean", as compared to the vile ones that will take up nests in homes and buildings?

I didn't know that about squirrels either. I just hate the little buggers after they ripped a hole in my roof not once, but twice, before I had the two dying trees cut down last year. When they ripped up the shingles last time, they didn't even have the courtesy to finish the job and rip a hole in the wood. The Jerks. Even worse, they put it at the worst possible spot so I couldn't do a legitimate roof patch and it looks pretty ghetto. It holds the water out for now, but I'm going to have to find somebody who will fix about 3 or 4 full shingles for a reasonable price. I did the best I could while doing my best Sylvester-Stallone-From-Cliffhanger reenactment from he peak of the roof.

Planted what might have been my biggest Ob ever today. The next time somebody asks me to help them lift a 400lb bath tub up 15 steps that turn on a 90 degree angle 2/3rds up, I think I'll have to politely tell them no. You don't get somebody asking that everyday though, so hopefully my first time will be my last. I definitely won't be hanging out that shingle.

Everybody made it out in one piece though, and we didn't even damage the walls or the non-carpeted stairs.

Jury's out on how my back is doing until I wake up tomorrow, but so far so good. Going to bed early tonight after I eat my early dinner.

I've got to start exercising again and stop thinking about it. With my hair and beard as long as they are now, I could still look like some sort of Greek God before I get too old to do it anymore.

RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE BMarchRIEFINGS

Units of the Russian Armed Forces advanced another 4 kilometers overnight and completely took control of Sladkoe. Currently, scattered groups of the nationalist battalion “Donbass” are being destroyed.

The grouping of troops of the Donetsk People’s Republic completes the defeat of the remnants of the 53rd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, developing an offensive in Novomikhailovka direction.

In total, up to 50 militants, 3 tanks, 4 infantry fighting vehicles, 2 field artillery mountsand 4 all-terrain vehicles were destroyed in this area overnight.

In addition, units of the Donetsk Republic are fighting with units of the 25th airborne brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the capture of Verkhnetoretskoye is being completed.

In Nikolaevka in the suburbs of Kiev, Russian servicemen took control of a protected, buried command post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 61 Ukrainian servicemen of the command post voluntarily surrendered, among them more than half were senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of March 21, high-precision air-launched cruise missiles struck the Training Centre for Foreign Mercenaries and Ukrainian Nationalist Formations at Novaya Lyubomirka combined arms training ground in Rovenskaya region. More than 80 mercenaries and nationalists were killed.

Also, high-precision air-launched cruise missiles destroyed an ammunition depot and the headquarters of a mechanized brigade near Selets.

A group of “Night Hunters” consisting of Ka-52 and Mi-28n helicopters destroyed 8 tanks, 4 infantry fighting vehicles and 3 armored personnel carriers during night strikes.

Operational-tactical and army aviation hit 44 military assets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Among them: 4 command posts, 2 multiple launch rocket systems near Nalivaykovka and Zolocheva, 6 Buk M-1 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3 artillery mounts near Vyshgorod, 4 missile and artillery weapons depots, as well as 23 areas of military equipment concentration.

Russian air defence means shot down 2 more Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle in the air over Chernobayevka and Circuny.

In total, 216 unmanned aerial vehicles, 180 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,506 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 152 multiple launch rocket systems, 592 field artillery and mortars, as well as 1,284 units of special military vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation.

In Sumy, a planned provocation of Ukrainian nationalists was carried out at night. The Russian Defence Ministry officially warned about this provocation a few days ago.

According to the head of Sumy regional Administration, there was an ammonia leak at Sumyhimprom plant. There is no threat to the residents of Sumy, since the air masses were moving “not towards the city.”

Let me remind you that back on March 19, we officially warned about the mining of this enterprise by Ukrainian nationalists to commit a provocation in order to accuse Russia of allegedly using “chemical weapons”.

I want to emphasize once again that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have not planned and are not striking any Ukrainian facilities for the storage or production of toxic substances. The coordinates of all such objects and data on the toxic substances stored there on the territory of Ukraine were obtained by us during the seizure of the combat documentation of the 4th Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard.

The Kiev nationalist regime is directly responsible for any possible incidents with Ukrainian storage facilities of toxic substances.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en/318

Ukrainian nationalists continue to use residential areas of settlements and social facilities as a “human shield” to deploy their artillery systems and conduct massive fire on Russian servicemen.

So, on Kiev outskirts, in Vinogradar district, Ukrainian nationalist units covered themselves with residential buildings for several days and fired multiple launch rocket systems at Russian servicemen.

At the same time, the areas of the nearby shopping centre were used as a large base for storing rocket ammunition and reloading multiple launch rocket systems.

The coordinates of the position of Ukrainian multiple rocket launchers were confirmed by Russian reconnaissence through several channels, as well as the location of warehouse with rocket ammunition was discovered.

Live monitoring and recording system clearly shows how a Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system enters a shopping centre on the outskirts of Kiev to hide and reload missiles.

High-precision long-range weapons destroyed a battery of Ukrainian multiple rocket launchers and a storage base for their ammunition in closed shopping centre on the night of March 21.

We would like to draw the attention of the Western media once again. We have presented absolute evidence of the criminal use by Kiev nationalist regime of civilian objects in residential areas of Kiev and other cities of Ukraine, as firing positions of artillery and rocket systems.

I have to comment on the words of the adviser to the office of the Ukrainian President, Mikhail Podolyak, that allegedly Russia is fighting only with “manpower and cruise missiles.”

I must emphasize that the special military operation is carried out by a professional army, which actually uses cruise missiles.

Their use is highly effective. They carry out precision strikes against military infrastructure and never against civilian objects. The nationalists themselves and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hitting civilian targets. There are a lot of people’s testimonies about this, and we have just presented one of them.

Returning to the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, not only cruise missiles are used, but also hypersonic weapons. Which is absolutely high-precision and is also used only for military targets.

In particular, we are talking about the Kinzhal aviation missile systems with hypersonic aeroballistic missiles.

The Russian Defence Ministry has analyzed the results of the destruction of the military infrastructure assets of Ukraine by aviation missile complexes Kinzhal with hypersonic aeroballistic missiles.

Underground protected storages of Ukrainian aviation weapons and combat units for Tochka-U missile systems located in the Delyatin, Ivano-Frankovsk region, as well as large fuel depots in Konstantinovka, Nikolaev region, were destroyed.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the use of a hypersonic aeroballistic missile of Kinzhal complex was carried out from a range of more than 1,000 kilometers. The flight time of the hypersonic missile was less than 10 minutes.

Due to hypersonic speed and ultra-high kinetic energy, the warhead of Kinzhal missile complex destroyed a protected underground arsenal located in a mountainous area, built in Soviet times to store special ammunition and missiles.

The destruction of a large fuel depot in Konstantinovka by Kinzhal hypersonic missile was due to its invisibility and invulnerability to any means of enemy air and missile defence.

Oh, how I wish. But think it will be a couple of more months until BC sees temps like those. *fingers crossed* that wildfire season won't be as bad as last year.

I just want it to dry out enough so I can get out on my balcony and sweep around the drain hole. I've noticed a lot of dirt build up.

work delayed by weather, I hear you!

So today I made chicken tagine with apricots, cauliflower for hubby and me, rice for dear daughter, and tzaziki.

Kind of ethnically mixed up- Moroccan and Middle Eastern, but I was looking for something easy to fix with not a lot of cooking. Tomorrow, still hot, so I'm defrosting roast pork and making pulled pork and cole slaw. Again, not a lot of cooking.

. It is HOT today!! Predicted to get to 90!

One big, strong pulse of hot air jumped the temp 13F in one day, but a gradual cool-down starting tomorrow.

There were three days of reasonable weather b4 today, so daughter and I got an hour or so of yardwork done each day, filled three bins b4 trash day and two more yesterday, but this is definitely "indoor work" weather.

Exactly. Suppose to rain tomorrow morning then dry out in the afternoon and possibly Thursday. At least that is what I am hoping for.

Despite sleeping like sh*t the past few night, I felt pretty chipper this AM.
Noticed that the scrub jays were having a hard time finding the peanuts in all of the fallen avocado leaves (this is the time of year when they blossom AND lose their leaves! Raking- definitely in the future!) so I raked a clear spot b4 putting out peanuts. They must be nesting nearby bc one would fly off with a peanut for a short while ... less than a minute... b4 coming back for another one.

Did indoor stuff today, git thru all of the mail, started ANOTHER pot of beans (! Keeping us in corn and bean soup is a full-time occupation. But it is such a satisfying and healthful b'fast), tidying up, dishes and so forth. Made the pulled pork and salad for dinner, as planned, and came up with the weekly menu and grocery list.

Not many good sales this week tho. Fortunately my small meat freezer is adequately stocked. Prices are going up A LOT!

Tomorrow I see the radiation oncologist to get the treatment schedule. I have a ?? for her which I hope she will research for the answer.

AC on again today. AM dog walks are pretty short, given how hot it's been. This is supposed to be spring! By Monday, they are predicting rain. Jeez! Roller coaster weather!

Suppose to get some more rain here tomorrow then dry out again. If it is dry enough tomorrow afternoon again, when I get home I will go out and sweep around the drain hole. *fingers crossed* on that plan.
