THAT could be the explanation. That does seem like a high dose to me. I hope lowering meds is the solution!

I feel the pain. I don't wear hats though, and I didn't have any do rags at the time once when I was shaving the head I went clean down to the skin on accident at one part, then I had to shave the thing completely bald. I didn't leave my house for a week.

I'm using clippers that I got from my mom years ago. She had them when we were kids. If the color of the case is anything to go by, I'd guess the thing came from the early 70's.

My dad wasn't concerned but my mom was. She asked him what he was going to do and he said he'd just wear his hat. He always wore a hat when he went out the grocery stores as I said or when they had what now would be called a "date night". This hat at the time was older than me. I have pictures of him wearing it that date back to the late fifties unless he replaced it when it got really ratty. He was obviously fond of the style of it.
It was sort of off-white and did what he wanted and he was fine with it.

The tools could have been given to him as a Christmas present but I really don't remember now.

I think we would have gotten along just fine.

I just finally threw away one of my "work" shirts. It's had quite a few holes in it for a while, but the last time it came out of the wash there were some large ones up by the neck in the back and the only thing even keeping it together was the seem for your neck.

I had to think back to when I got that one and realized it was one of the 2 sleeveless shirts my mom got me from WalMart back when I was still in high school. I actually still use the black one with the same brand name, but the green one finally had to go.

That shirt was almost 24 years old. lol

The Goodwill by me raised their prices a while back though and if you don't go on 1/2 price Saturday you can find yourself paying up to $9 for a used t-shirt. I refuse that. They still have good deals there, but I won't even look at the t-shirt section unless it's 1/2 price day.

I'm a really hard size to buy pants for, so I have to luck into a good deal and a lot of times when I go there is just nothing in the jeans section for me. The curse of a short dude that did a billion squats in his youth...

I've found enough to last a while though. I have finally had to say goodbye to not one but two pairs so far this summer. But I've still got somewhere around a dozen to go through. Only problem is, there's only one beat up pair left, so when I need new work jeans I'm going to feel guilty using a nice pair of jeans to mow the lawn in.


Can't beat a $4.50 pair of Levis that look brand new on 1/2 price day. If they were easy to find in my size, I could buy 10 of them for the price it would cost for a single pair at Kohls these days.

Add to it the fact that I have really thick thighs and calves, and it makes the problem even more pronounced. Unless I luck into a really "relaxed" cut, about 80% of the jeans I try on that are 30" to 32" on the waist are hard to even sit down in let alone work in.

For the waist, I can comfortably fit into a 30" pair, and I need to wear a belt with a 32" waist or else they fall down on me.

But all my "work" jeans are 36" with the belt cinched up super tight. It's the only way I can wear jeans and do a physically demanding job without it constricting my movement or just splitting on me.

And since half of my jeans are 30" long and the other half are 32" long, it usually doesn't take long for the bottoms to get frayed. That's when they become "job" jeans for when I'm doing employee related stuff. Once they get beat up, they become work jeans for home and eventually become lawn mowing and painting jeans until they get so bad it's time to throw them out.



They should bring back Hammer Pants. I wouldn't mind rocking them again.

Do they have a "Juniors" section in the stores in Canada? I remember always feeling envious of women for that step in-between for girls and women since there wasn't a middle-ground for boys and men. Yeah... I forgot to mention the pockets too. That's another huge reason I like wearing 36" jeans that would fall right off of me without a belt when I'm working. I'm able to keep my cigarette tin, a lighter, a knife, a small bottle of mouthwash, my car/house keys, a marker and a pen in them as well as my wallet in the back pocket while still being comfortable and having an easy time reaching in for any one of them. There's even enough room left to put in a flip phone if I ever decided to get another cell phone.

If I wore the 30" jeans that fit me without a belt, I'd have enough room for only a boxcutter and a lighter, and I'd have to pry them out to get at them.


Obviously, as a dude, a purse was never really an option for me.



While we're bringing back the Hammer pants, let's bring back fanny packs too.
