Sounds great!

Just don't eat soy more than once a week, according to my gynecologist.

I put out the "rain gage" in anticipation of that 2" of rain "they say" we're going to get today, but this time I put a cinder block in the middle of the yard for it, so I should get an accurate collection.

Have a sit-down for me! I'm so out of energy I could use a double sit-down!

It's been raining steadily since 2:30 PM and now 7:30PM. Sometimes lightly, sometimes a little heavier than"moderate".

Just got a phone call a bit ago from my boss, inviting me over to the house for Christmas dinner. Also when I am out tomorrow, I have to pick up something to take with me for desert. She specified that I should get something I like.

What snow we got here was washed away by the rain. So we shall see if we get anymore tonight. Weather people are calling for a white Christmas. But who knows.

I went to a local White Spot and ordered a small portion of fish and chips. It was very good.

Have my Christmas dinner going today because even thought I am going out tomorrow, I will have to eat before I eat. My boss and her husband give me a time to come over and say we'll be having supper at 5pm. We never do. So I imagine it will be the same tomorrow even though their son, daughter in law and latest grandchild will be there along with another family.

Well, I tried something different this Xmas: I made rib-eye roast. (It was on sale. Even then, it was an intimdatingly expensive piece of meat.)

Never having made it before, I consulted a half-dozen online recipes- they all said something different! but I settled on an internal temp of 130F - checked my TWO meat thermometers to make sure they worked and read the same temp, and roasted it to medium rare to medium (depending on which slice I took) and the family LOVED it!

Also had asparagus, cauliflower Polonaise (with buttered bread crumbs) - and for dear daughter, since she can't eat crucifers, shirataki noodles with Alfredo sauce, cherry pie, and eggnog for desert.

Dog shared our dinner. She was so replete she just lay down and digested!

That is the last big, rich meal for a while! Just planning charcuterie, crackers, the traditional pickled herring, and champagne for New Year's Eve, but it's gonna be healthy eating from now on!

Yes, getting ut is a good thing!

I noticed that you're going out for mahjong, meeting friends for lunch, taking yourself out for meals, and going out for dinner, and I can't help compare this to how limited things were under Covid resstrictions and, before that, in your dreary basement rental! It seems to me that altho I know you still have health problems and restrictions, you have a cozy place to call home, and friends and enjoyable activities, and I can't help but hope that your new year will be even better.

Cheers!

It was good.

Have keep myself occupied. And I was more limited the year before with the restrictions. Yeah, that place was bad. Ah yes the lingering after effects of the brain tumour. Things that will never go away. I am in a much and I stress much better place with all that is going on. Oh, I still get my bouts of depression and have to beat it off with a stick.

I look forward to my walks and meals out, mah jong, seeing my friend that I've known since high school.

I hope so. I still have my writing and trying to find a publisher. *fingers crossed* on that one. *L* But I enjoy trying to figure things out for it.

So, I guess you could say that I am reasonable.

Lazy Sunday for me looking at the snow outside. My area is in to the minuses as far as temps go. Unusual for here. Temps like these are seen up in the Interior or Yukon, NWT, Nunavut and farther east like Alberta and such. *L*

Have to see when it is going to warm up again.

It actually wasn't bad until I had to stop at a crosswalk then I felt the cold. But with my scarf, hood up, gloves, boots and cane, I was okay.

Decided today to pick up the last plastic shelving unit I need for that kitchen cupboard, I will finish it over the next bit. No rush and one other thing done then when I got back took out the kitchen garbage. Now just a nice sit down until supper.

Computer temp is reading -9C now but more clouds rolling in. Suppose in the next day to see a bit more snow for my area.

Dear daughter went shopping, a lot of empty shelf spaces!

No table water crackers, no ham steak, no smoked sausage, no 1/2 turkey breast, no frozen onion rings. No sesame seed oil.

NO EGGNOG!

Fortunately the only thing that I really needed for the upcoming week's menu is the ham steak (for ham and vegetable soup) and that will probably be restocked before it's turn in the menu shows up. If not, I have a smoked sausage left, altho I would prefer to use something less fatty.

Today's menu was stir-fried marinated pork tenderloin (on sale! 3.99/lb!). For daughter, bc she can't eat crucifers, "fried rice" (really just rice and cooked mixed vegetables with sesame seed oil, tamari and sugar) and for hubby stir-fried red pepper and shredded cabbage with oil, ginger, sesame oil, tamari, a little sugar, garlic, spinach, chipotle with the stir-fried pork on top with Sriracha on that.

Not bad for a person who can't smell, OR taste, at the moment!

Yeah, I didn't think I would come close as the other two I was playing with were getting the better tiles. I finished up with over 5,000 points. So $4 was my winnings.
We can get as many as 12 but 6 was good for today because of the snow and Christmas.

Oh, so that can be quite a large group! Do 12 people play all together? Or do you break up into smaller groups?

Yes, a lot of people are recovering from Xmas, getting ready for tomorrow. I'm sure the snow didn't help, either.

It was pouring this AM and traffic was really light. I think for the holiday and weather-related reasons here too.

Well, have a good New Year's Eve, BRENDA! May the New Year be even better than the old!
